If Bobas has changed enough for those changes to be picked up in taste, then perhaps a "recipe change" should have been noted by the maker.

I still have some well steeped Bobas. I drip it to make it last. But if I were to order another batch and picked up this change, I'd be upset.

yankee if you still have batches from before the AVE apocalypse, then PLEASE PLEASE order 1 bottle of the new boba, and compare.

Does it seem to be the consensus that there is a change indeed? What I have is as steeped as it gets. I'd have to steep the "new Bobas" a bit to even give it a good compare. Maybe a small bottle. I used to order 100ml, multiple bottles at a time.

Well no i don't think there is a consensus. I cannot say what the others think and this is my opinion only. If there is the difference I am talking about, i don't think you need to steep it as much. Maybe it is all in my head, and the long distance relationship between me and Boba made me forget what it tasted like, but i doubt it. Get a 10ml bottle my treat

I've said for quite some time that I believe the key to Bobas are tobacco extracts. I haven't ordered any of the "new" batch to compare it to the BB I've got squirreled away. I'm enjoying a couple of the clones as much as the original, so I just dip into my old stash occasionally to compare.

This change of flavor is another indicator of a heavy NET or tobacco component....its a common problem with cigar manufacturers also - tobacco crops differ from season to season, and produce different flavors every year depending on their environmental conditions (light, heat, rain, etc). Getting the right mix to maintain a consistent flavor profile in the finished cigar is a real challenge and an art in itself.

Its quite possible that the difference is at least partially due to variations in the run of tobacco used for the extracts, not necessarily due to a change in the recipe....you'd be surprised what a difference it can make - there are "good & bad" years for tobacco just as there are for wine...

Anyway...just another indication that Bobas relies heavily on tobacco NETs and/or extracts to produce its magic flavors.

 I'll look into getting a bottle and comparing the two. I will likely compare them in two drippers. It'll be a bit though before I vape the "new stuff" :)

And Nam, you are probably correct in some sort of NET being used that changes the flavor profile rather than a recipe change. I've read on here so many posts about the changes and just never cared to go down the path. We have experimented a little on coming "close" to a DIY replacement while acknowledging that we will never achieve an identical clone.
I've changed my all day vape to another flavor and have actually become less dependent on one specific flavor. Any flavor can have a slight change even if it's attributed to who is mixing it.

Has anyone looked at/tested the extracts from the following?

www.Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes

I made a few feeble attempts at Boba's but diverted my time to working on Tribeca (a much easier target). I keep looking at this site thinking one or two of those extracts might fit a Boba's clone. However, I'm not not sure I want to throw 26 darts at $11 each just to sample. I sent an email to them asking if they knew 'Bobas Bounty' and which extract might fit and got no answer. Told them about all the activity on this forum and that they might get a good spike in sales if they pursued this with a couple recommendations for their products. Again, no reply.

It all seems like it would be so simple but I know it isn't. It took me 28 tests to get Tribeca and that still isn't 100%. Again, that one is easier than Bobas. I'd love to crack Bobas because lately it doesn't taste the same as the first time I had it. Probably just me.

I've tried many of these and I doubt any of them would be useful with a BB clone. All have a very "authentic" tobacco flavor which IMO Boba's doesn't have.

Just my opinion, but, I tend to think I noticed a change in Boba's as well. Whether that be a truth, or just my mind telling me it's true due to the subjective findings of those on here, regardless, I noticed a change as well.

However, the elements that made Boba's my absolute favorite vendor juice are still present, therefore, the juice is still absolutely delicious to me. In other words, if it did change, it has no repercussions on my opinions of the juice.

Every few weeks it seems like someone says the flavor has changed, for as long as I can remember. So about a year ago I just stashed a 30ml to test against each new bottle. I believe Ben when he says no steeping needed, really can't taste a difference in the bottle that's been kept in a cool dark place for a year, from a bottle ordered as recent as last week.

You know what changes your Boba's, the gear, the wick, and how long it's been since a new wick or cleaning.

My first few bobas orders were 15 and 30ml sized bottles and they always tasted the same.
Steeping them brought out different notes and hid others.
In late august, I ordered 2 100ml bottles.
When they showed up, they definitely tasted much different than any previous orders I had received.
After sitting for a couple months, they ended up tasting just like my previous bottles.

Weird stuff.
I still have a few ml left from every bottle I have ordered over the last 4 months, and cross reference between new and old batches to see how it comes along.

It was weird though, how much more tobacco I tasted in the 100ml batches. After sitting, tobacco subsided and honey and graham cracker came out to play.
Quite the opposite steep from previous orders.
But they all ended up in the same range after steeping.

What does it taste like?

It's kinda sweet. I don't really like the flavor. I ordered the flavor and vaped a whole bottle...my wife likes it and wanted me to get some more. But she vapes hardly at all, so I have a bottle of Hypnotic Mist just sitting here.

Based on my taste buds, I am sure I can say that Hypnotic Mist is not in BB.

If you want to try it. You can get it from Freedomsmokeusa.com If you taste it, I'm sure you will agree that it is not a flavor in BB.
