Haven't posted here in a while. I've been the recipient of a 'bad' nic that has given me trouble. I'm now second guessing all the last 20 or so test flavors I've been working on.
Yet another reason we really need some kind of regulations so that we can count on quality from all sources.
Flavors are really something that's peeving me off too. Same flavor, ordered 2 months apart and guess what? Not even close to the first batch flavor. It's not a wonder that even with the old stalwart flavors out there we notice some slight variations.
Can't say I'm all that displeased. I've really enjoyed many of my recipes but getting them consistent? .......
Its not every day you here vapers calling for 'regulation'... Reasonable regulation would be wonderful. Unfortunately I don't see whatever regulation comes through as likely to be reasonable. Currently it takes little more than a few bad reviews of a company for them to go completely down the toilet. Once regulation gets in place... There will likely be a 'monopoly' of big juice companies that can handle the FDAs unreasonable fees. Then before you know it... You can only get juice from 1 of 2 companies that are in cahoots and lacing ejuice with various additives in order to make it 10x addictive and dangerous with the FDAs approval, justifying health risks, justifying insane taxes and regulation.
Be careful what you ask for.
Edit: While the open market has some downsides... It is very self-regulating and correcting based on knowledge and consumer demands. Regulation takes most of this out of the picture. Just look at what has happened to our food!
If you want consistent flavors you probably have to get closer to the manufacturer directly. Even so, I imagine there 'process' / 'recipe' changes over time based on numerous factors that are simply outside our control. I don't imagine regulation making companies keep recipes unchanged.
