I suppose there is nothing I can do about it as it is their right but I am madder than a wet hen!

The statement is that they are not allowing anything that resembles smoking. Let me see someone with a Nicotrol and I will be going to town.

They could have said something about approvals, trials, anything! But no, they make an ignorant statement like that.

Meanwhile I watch the overweight employees go to the vending machine and get chips and candy. Oh yeah, free coffee too.

The scary part as that I do not work for a small company, we are fortune 50. The fact that they would do something so ignorant is infuriating. It's also a Hmm... moment for me. There is more to this than meets the eye.

Don't get me wrong, I WILL pursue this as this company should be interested in a product that can improve smoker's health and they went this way??? I aim to find out why.

We have an employee base of over 80,000 so I am sure I am not the only one. We are a healthcare company (probably let the cat out on that one) so I am sure they are very in tune with what is happening. And the fact that they took this stance is disturbing.

I don't know, my guts churn to think about the implications.

I just looked it up, fortune 25 if that is a term. :(

Where I work (Bank of America), in a big operations center here in RI, I vape my head off at my cubicle and not even a passing eye looks at me. Probably because I got quite a few into vaping there and they know what an e-cig really is all about.

I even get snickers from the non smokers around me when I stand up, PV in hand, and big plumes of "smoke" surround my head.

The only "incident" I had was one of the security guards stopped and asked if I was smoking in the building. I showed him my PV and gave a little demo. He walked away amazed. Haven't had any issues since.

Guess some Fortune 50 companies are not as .... as others.

I vape at my desk and enjoy the increased productivity.
The days go by so much faster and I'm more connected to the responsibilities the company pays me to manage. *Also a top Fortune 100 employee owned company*

I can't actually say that many people have even noticed that I'm producing plumes of smoke :) I try to keep it down just because i don't want any bad attention.

Vaping is a personal choice I made. For me it's just a different way to partake in a nicotine enhanced lifestyle. I drink a lot less coffee and have recently started vaping "Coffee" flavored juice. LOL...

The best of both worlds..

Nestran, I hope you've explored other ways of obtaining needed nicotine for times when e-smoking in public might not be wise or allowed. Most definitely DO use snus, dissolvables or nasal snuff. Find one or more than you like. I am never without a snus in my mouth, even when I vape 36mg liquid. The snus keeps the base nicotine blood level nice and steady.

Sneaking around is just not a long-term answer for us. We must hope e-cigs are ultimately approved as the healthy and efficient devices they are. Unfortunately, it's not up to us to get that approval.

Until approval comes, find multiple ways to not smoke cigarettes but keep that nicotine level intact.
