Dude, I said do that 1st. I agree. He should get a warranty repair if it isn't user-error (like dropping it or something). But if he gets the shaft, they go out of business, or some such refusal to fix it.... whatayagonnado?

OK, I didn't get to read your initial unedited post, but from what I've read, I'd...

@#!$^%^*&

and continue to embarrass the Darwin outta 'em!

And to think I was considering an XS-haler Mini for a fist held PV...

Please keep us posted!

I hope the OP comes back with an update ---- to set the record straight. You can go to Nhaler/Darwin thread and read today's post for an update. The Darwin was not broken.

This Nhaler/Darwin/Evolv bashing is quite a surprise----and there has to be missing info. Evolv has had a record of stellar service.

We need more vape meets! That's where I met a Darwin and then knew it was right for me. No regrets.

Have to say, it would have been useful to give a link to the thread to which you refer... those of us who do not frequent the Nhaler forum are unlikely to go searching for the conclusion of this little saga...

I own 2 Darwins & love them. It is the only device I will vape with. Purchased 2 other high end mods but nothing compares. Sorry to hear about the problem you are having. The charging port should not have any play in it. I am surprised to hear about your customer service problems with them. I have only heard great reviews on their customer service. I would recommend sending evolv an email or call them & ask to speak with Brandon. They should have no problem replacing that unit for you.

The OP's post in that thread starts here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/nhaler/151096-darwin-evolv-925.html#post4337622.

This thread is unfortunate...the Darwin is second to none, absolutely worth the price. No VV box mod comes close. If the OP had read the manual or the threads on ECF this whole thing wouldn't have happened.

I do love my Darwin. It is, by fact, the most advanced mod on the market (EQ's auto juice feed vs Darwin's variable wattage might make this debatable, but EQ is off the market ATM). Of course, nothing is perfect. I agree this thread is unfortunate.

That said, something needs to be done about the Darwin thread. Drew needs to moderate or appoint moderator(s) and do something. As new Darwinian myself, tackling that thread was a huge expenditure of time. I mean the thing is 1000 pages long. The Darwin is the most advanced mod on the market, that means its also the most complicated and making new people tackle that thread is ludicrous.

I know, they don't actually have to at all (I want to make that clear) and can just post and people answer things almost immediately. However, if anyone is like me, they are referred to that thread and think they must catch up before posting. I have currently a total of 4 Darwin messages on Reddit and here, from people asking for my help on it. All contacted me because they are afraid of that ridiculously long thread.

I have had a Darwin for a month, let me say that again, only 1 month. And four people are asking me for help (which, BTW, I am super happy to help, please feel free to keep contacting me and I will do everything I can to help). I have no idea what the message count is for some of you old time Darwininans, but it must be massive.

There needs to be a procedure. New Darwinians start new threads and ask questions instead of being funneled to the longest thread ever. The Darwin thread needs to be mined for useful info and that posted in a separate thread and closed. Only the mod should be adding new info to it. Yes I do know and read through the vape like a research monkey thread. It has no where near complete enough info. For example, if it did, this thread wouldn't have happened.

Then Darwininians who have moved out of the newbie/total confusion stage can use the Darwin thread as is, to keep talking and trading tips and such. I know I am enjoying doing as much :), but its not and shouldn't be the place for new and confused Darwinians be referred to as a starting place.

My $.02.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I will NOT order anything from Nhaler--EVER.

Yep. That's my policy. I would probably have a Darwin if it wasn't being sold through Drew. The Darwin is a great idea and seems to be a solid device for the most part but Nhaler took advantage of me and screwed me over when I was a newb. He'll never get another chance to do that.

Well now. The plot thickens. So a loose connection is part of the design of the USB connector. Built in flexibility.

The question becomes.... is it too loose? Is it busted, or is it just supposed to be that way? In other words, "is there even an issue?" (other than maybe a lack of communication about it?)????????

Pictures or vids would help.

I see your point but the Darwin thread is fun and has evolved like many others (the REO lounge, etc). Kat and others put together an info thread for new or prospective Darwinians that answers most of the questions asked here which hopefully someone has pointed you to...
VAPE LIKE A RESEARCH MONKEY!" (Everything you ever wanted to know about the Darwin)

As for my experience with my Darwin, about a week after my first one arrived it started acting weird and not measuring the atty resistance correctly. I contacted Evolve through the website, Brandon responded about 20 minutes later and confirmed something was not right. I gave him my shipping address and within an hour he overnight shipped me a replacement. Less than 24 hours later I had the new one which has worked perfectly since. I sent the original back a few days later. Now I've been through the ringer several times from suppliers, so customer service like that I know is unmatched with the exception of Drew himself at Nhaler, which I think is why the people on the Darwin thread get a little testy when someone starts posting negatively about the Darwin.

Glad you like your Darwin, it is expensive but in my case it has replaced about $400 worth of Ego's, Box Mods, Tube Mods, dozens of batteries and chargers, etc. Plus, it has revived some old atty's and juices that I had given up on and provides a better overall experience since it vapes really well and I don't have to carry all the stuff with me anymore. Granted, its a little different and not for everyone, but I hate to see people saying they would never buy one based on the opinions of others that I perceive to be unfairly biased for whatever reason. I'm ranting so I'll get off my soapbox. Come hang out at the Darwin thread and let us know how it's going, we love to answer questions, give advice and chat about everything and nothing.:vapor:

That is terrific CS.

which I think is why the people on the Darwin thread get a little testy when someone starts posting negatively about the Darwin.

And they received non-defective Darwins, right?

but I hate to see people saying they would never buy one based on the opinions of others that I perceive to be unfairly biased for whatever reason.

Receiving a defective PV and getting a run-around from the vendor and manufacturer are considered "unfairly biased"?
twitch.gif

There are countless posts about ECF members receiving defective/unsatisfactory products. If the membership can't help the poster, what do we say? "Contact the vendor." If that doesn't work, then there will be many that will boycott that vendor; the free market at work.

If I were to consider getting a top tier PV, this situation would give me great pause in purchasing a Darwin. In fact, until I read that this issue is satisfactorily resolved, no Darwins for me!

Is there a possibility that there are factors that we are not privy to? This is not normal for Evolv which tells me-something is up and out of the normal realm of things.
I have read where others had an issue right up front and they were taken care of immediately. So what's really going on here?
Just stating what thoughts are running around in my head after reading this (op).

Very good point HzG8 - You know the OP might not even come back and let us know how things ended so I hate to see someone just write off a company because of a single post.

I've ordered from Nhaler here & there since 2009... ALWAYS had great service. I did have issue with my Darwin and also received a new unit OVERNIGHTED to me BEFORE I shipped the old one back. I couldn't ask for better service.

I may be biased having met Drew (his lovely wife and daughter too at Vapestock) but... even barring that based on service I've received alone - I'd not hesitate to recommend Nhaler. He has brought a TON of products to market, has helped a lot people and worked with CASAA to help protect our vaping rights. Yes, he might be a bit rough around the edges to some - but I personally think he's an awesome person if you get to know him a tad. He has always made things right for customers that I've seen have an issue. If you peek in his sub forum you'll notice that folks with problems - DO get them solved!
