Just take it easy and enjoy...

I broke down and grabbed a swisher the other day, but I don't feel guilty. I know that I am a vapor now. I was smoking mini cigars by the pack and I am very happy with vaping. Cigs taste nasty to me so that won't be the issue. I still want to find the cigar killer and I am sure I will. I don't crave them like I did when I was using nic replacement or Chantix.

Took me a while to come to a complete stop myself. I think about six weeks? I just didn't worry about it. My smoking dropped so much right off, I kept thinking I was having some weird dream I'd wake up from any moment. I didn't even tell anybody in my family for the first two weeks.

I kept slowing down and slowing down until cigs were just awful and started to dread smoking one. Now days, sometimes I get this vague feeling of, "gosh, I'd love to have a smoke" but it's just sort mild and almost... wistful? Nothing like a craving. Odd. I just sort of shrug it off.

And am still stunned I can say, "I just shrug it off". That still kinda blows my mind...

Welcome and congrats to both you and your wife. Like mkbilbo said, there will be a few "bumps" in the road but that's all they are, minor bumps and you get over them quickly. I was really surprised at how easy it was to quit smoking (minor bumps included) after 40+ years of slowly killing myself. I really never thought I could do it. Thank God I was wrong.

i was smoking for 20 years, and up to 2.5 packs a day. nothing could satisfy my cravings, until my buddy introduced me to vaping. im analog free for a little over a week and never crave a real cigarette, ever. once my wife saw that i wasnt smoking, she switched to vaping as well. definately alot easier to do it together from the get go.

Congrats brother!!! The first step is the hardest. I was a pack a day smoker for ten years. I tried evrything from patches to gum but I truely feel like vaping has saved my life. The first couple of days is the hardest. When ever I got a craving for an cig, I read this forum an watched YouTube videos. Grimmgreen has some really good videos for new vapors. It's encouraging to see how long others have gone with out smoking. A couple of things that helped me was.
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Keep a pack of gum on you bc vaping can make your mouth dry.
Your body will adjust after a couple of days and you will be able to breath, taste and smell better. All my friends smoke but after a couple of weeks smoking won't smell the same to you. Vape on my friend and don't get discouraged, this forum is awesome, if you have any problems there are plenty of people on here that are more them willing to help.

I was starting to enjoy cigarettes more and more often, and while I don't have a physical addiction to nicotine I stopped smoking other things for reasons not under my control at the moment so cigarettes were my alternative. I do enjoy them and I noticed as soon as I started vaping I actually forget about cigarettes frequently. Also, congratulations to everyone moving to a safer alternative!
