batteries fully charged, and . . .

My initial impressions are good but not amazing. I think I need to break it in a bit.

First, the new carts I purchased seem to be a much better fit, not as loose as with the original Dura model. So who knows . . . maybe that problem has been fixed. (Of course, I still have tons of carts I purchased with the old model, so I'll have to suffer through those a bit.)

The kit came with two atomizers, and I'm shocked at how different the pull is on each of them. With one, I really have to work on the draw. With the other atomizer, the draw is still firm, but not nearly as hard as with the other atomizer.

Just for kicks, I put one of my old Dura atomizers on the new battery. I am surprised at how little pull there is with the old atomizer (and how little vapor). I'm thinking I'll need to send the old atomizer back to Jeff. I had suspected my atomizers with the original Dura weren't doing so well, but because my batteries were obviously having problems, I didn't feel that I could adequately judge the atomizer performance. Now I can, and the performance of my old atomizer is definitely lacking.

I decided to take their word for it, and I dripped on the atomizer. Now, THAT provides a very nice throat hit. The vapor is nice and warm, and it just feels more like an analog. The flip side, though, is I think a warmer vapor tends to not provide quite as much complexity in taste as the cooler vaper provided by, say, the Kissbox.

I'll report back in a few days.

Happy vaping! :)

Ordered my Dura-C on 3/7. Waiting on shipment confirmation 3/9. Will post a review once received. Im currently using a TW 901 Platinum and a Smoke Stik mini. Im excited to try the Dura-C!

I placed my order for the dura-c kit and the KB classic extended kit on 3/2. This will be my first Janty order, so i am definitely excited to try them out. In previous posts some people ordered early to mid-february and are still waiting for their's, so I hope I don't have to wait tooo much longer!

A few things to add here for y'all.

LEAKING:

I had leaking issues as well. but I found that if I smoked a cart
till it was dry, then just drip 4-6 times on the tip, smoke that...it vapes
good and does not leak, but requires a refill within 30 minutes. no biggie.

if it's in my coat pocket I ALWAYS wrap it with a small paper napkin as it might still leak a little.

I have had some atomizers that were incredibly loose fit. so loose
you would not want to only be holding it in your mouth with your teeth
if you were taking a pee at the same time (might fall in the toilet lol)

to fix the loose ones (had 2 do that out of 6) I just press the edge
hard against something gently to bend it in a little. problem fixed.

I did have one that was way too tight and slightly shredded the carts
on insertion...that was weird.

Bad Atomizers or Batteries:

I've had 1 bad atomizer (lasted only 4 battery cycles) and 2 bad
batteries. 1 would not charge or work at all, the other would light
up but vape was very poor and never did well like the others.

Jeff never asked me to return these and I never returned them.
seems like a waste of postage & time anyways for the customer if
it's defective.

I got a replacement atomizer and 2 Dura-C batteries arrived today.
(charging up right now so I have not yet tried them)

it was 1 week ago I reported the bad batteries. Jeff asked if
I wanted the Dura-C, I said sure and they are here.

I also asked Jeff to put in 2 chocolate medium liquids and that I would paypal him the money asap. The liquids arrived with the batteries today
and honoring the honor system, I sent the paypal payment to Jeff.

so aside from being shorted one Dura kit when I ordered 2 of them,
over 3 weeks ago (chinese new year delay and all) Jeff has been
responsive and great as far as customer service from the get go.

my 002 cents.

I just got mine today too! I'm charging the battery, then I'll report back. I'm hoping that this puppy will give me a good throat hit. I'm still at 5 analogs a day, sometimes 7 or 8, due to the enjoyable-yet-still-not-quite-as-satisfying e-cigs I have. My 901s are ok but kinda wussy, my 801 always tasted like burnt plastic (waiting on a replacement atomizer), and my titanium penstyle is....ok. I NEED to be walloped with a good hit already!

Hope that's the case. First day with the pilot I was not impressed, but I hung in there. Second day I went OMG, couldn't believe it was same device. Couple days later I ordered another. :p

I think most of the problem with the leaking is simply that the cart and the mouthpiece are a 1-piece design. It seems that not all of the liquid gets atomized on the draw and the liquid leaks up the cart and sits on the inhalation ducts. Then when you set the atomizer down, it leaks out of the crease between the cartridge and the atomizer. It also leaks a little during use, but not much. I think if the shape of the inhalation ducts were changed a bit it would result in less leaking. Maybe lengthen the distance between the seal and where the inhalation ducts start, and tighten the gap a bit... or make it a 2-piece design like the dse-901... but that would cut down majorly on capacity. Maybe Janty could design special *drip-only* carts that don't have any possible leaking components, but also don't hold an actual cartridge. That would solve the problem for me at least... since I don't use cartridges.

My dura-c batteries should be arriving in my mailbox this afternoon. I look forward to trying them out. ...and if there is an atomizer included in the deal to replace the defective one I got back in January... all will be well. :)

... For all the skeptics: Janty has proven themselves numerous times to have a superior product to the rest of the market, but undoubtably have run into some problems. For anyone who owned the Dura - there's no argueing that the first week or two of owning your Dura was simply the best vape you've had yet. Once the dust settles we'll all be happy campers once again.

I've had my Dura-C for a few days, and boy do I ever love it! I have had nothing but great vapor since I started with it!

As Parked said, it's slightly longer, but that doesn't bother me a bit.

Kind of miss the blue light, but I guess now I won't get as many strange looks when out in public...lol....or at least not any that were a result of a strange blue light in the bar!

As for leaking...I really haven't had any problems with mine leaking. I keep it stored at an angle, cart side down, or in my pocket, cart side down. I do know that they are more prone to leakage when they are laid flat so I avoid sitting it that way.

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the Dura-C and think I have found my perfect E-Cig!

I just tried mine for the first time after the 8-hr/use 20min/1-hr charge
cycle janty recommends.

It doesn't seem any different than the regular batteries.

did you discharge/recharge yours a few times before it "got better"

I actually didn't got through the whole battery charging cycle...I was too impatient...lol

The biggest difference I've noticed between the Dura-C and Dura is the consistency of vapor...I had a hard time dealing with the Original Dura and its cut-offs, it seems to me that it is much easier to get a nice big draw off of the Dura-C with minimal effort. I LOVE IT!

Psssst... Don't tell anyone but I have a dura-c battery charging in a PCC as we speak. So far no issues other that the lid is mad at me.

I couldn't get mine in there without forcing it past the manual switch, which I wouldn't do. Seems it would ultimately ruin the switch....and the battery. Let us know how it goes.

So, has anyone else tested the lifespan until the next charge for the Dura-C battery? I received mine last night. Recharged the recommended 8 hours, 20 mins use, and 1 hour charge. Both batteries only last 2 hours a piece. :(

My old Dura batteries that work (thank goodness) last about 4.5 hours. I'm a bit disappointed especially since I have never used a manual switch before, and find it great!!! Is it because of the manual switch that it doesn't last as long as usual? I only use the switch on inhale and let go right before I let up on the mouthpiece.

Any suggestions? Anyone else running into the same issue? Maybe I need to contact Jeff again? Poor guy has got to be tired of seeing my e-mails.

Hmmm...no wallop, not even a whimper. It appears that one of my batts is DOA after the requisite charge time. I got nothin'. I'm charging the second battery now. I'll try charging the dud battery again to make sure but something tells me I'll be sending it back. If they really only perform for a couple hours between charges, I'm sending the whole kit back. UGH!!
