I still want to know what tbe standards are voltage drop for mechs with specific coil resistances.....and even moreso I want to know what the ISO standards are for coil types! I don't remember seeing that in Machinery's Handbook. Oh wait, wrong book I guess, so where can I get me a copy of Vaper's Handbook?

He states in the video that they are some new Sony battery with a 30a limit. Does not show it to the camera so just take his word for it, right?

Stat, you're braver than I. I had it on mute.
Perhaps it's this battery at fasttech.

I believe those are the ones. He had another video up a few weeks ago. It was kind of a first impressions thing.

He used the tankometer to test those too.

Stats brother, I'm no scientist, the only degree I have is in tinkering & I didn't earn it, I bought it.

Really it's basic electronics. Most of you know ohms law already, anyone here could easily learn what I did & do it themselves. I just choose to use a real dmm instead of one of those inline meter gimmicks & eliminated everything else out of the equation. Sure they might work but if someone is going to make strong accusations use something that's credible. It's like this site or other forum where someone is posting voltage drop reading for various mods using different batteries & different coil resistances. Those readings don't mean anything compared to each other. Input power & coil resistances have to be exactly the same on all tests for accuracy.

But seriously, your video was a awesome. "Non-standards, scientific, not compliant", absolute comedy right there! So it was just hot air huh, was he there inhaling secong hand vapor?

I guess we'll just have to write it.. unless everyone wants to pm the Commish all at once asking for a copy of the "Coil Standards Handbook" ;) lol

I had the volume down REALLLLLY lowww and I still think a small portion of my brain turned to mush :(

I forbid myself from even watching the Newman videos. :)

Maybe next week when my SHCW is out of town and the kids are asleep I will watch it for a laugh.

Tonight, when my wife is driving her sister to the airport I plan to make a video myself in the spirit of the bud light "real American Heroes" theme.

So far I'm thinking it'll be "mr super cool sub ohm vaper"

It'll be my first video :) I can't wait :)

The thing that really irks me, is that the conversation is driven to the wrong place when someone gets all "fumble-bum-science" like that. He wants to put some burden of proof on us; and, by doing so, eliminates the opportunity for getting to the heart of the matter. Most of us have used a variety of devices in our vaping experiences. Most of us who enjoy a subΩ vape on the REO consider it to be the best we've had. Nit-picking at numbers and measurements pulls our attention from the simple fact that we have finally found a truly awesome package in the REO; and more importantly, that our combined subjective experience is valid.

X.. I'll be eagerly awaiting your production!

You know, pdib, that's been in the back of my mind this whole time.. the crazy thing about all this is that would be true even if his "scientific tests" were valid. Being as they are not it's hard (for me) to choose which point to make.. "even if your right it still doesn't matter" or "you are wrong to begin with"

Nice video. And....just for the record: Squonk is not a "sound" word in Reoville; it's a "do" word. If you hear a squonk, something's usually wrong. When I hear my squonk, I take my bottle off and re-screw the lid back on because it usually means I have an air leak. :)

JC Okie, I didn't know that a squonk meant some was wrong! OK, I do hear a sqounk, but I do hear a sound and everything appears to be OK.

Its hard to effectively convey true joy and satisfaction in the midst of debating a Newman.

I can almost here muscleman'a voice (regular show) stating "best vape video ever" while Mordecai and Rigby simultaneously exclaim "yayyyuuuh" as the clip fades off into darkness. :)

Yeah. I watch that stuff. I have kids :)

Oh man, that scene totally played out in my head

I never saw those videos and, after reading your comments, I most likely never will.

I don't know how to express my feelings about it, but I'll try.

There are two really unrewarding professional occupations: IT dude and national soccer trainer. Both jobs look so easy and straightforward that everybody and their mother have an opinion about how to make it better. After all, everyone has a computer and knows a trick or two...

The same goes for simple electronics and physics and vaping. I am an engineer and sometimes directly involved in software and hardware development for central electronics for cars. But at vapemeets I have to actively hold back from pulling "experts" out of the room and slapping them with an almost fresh fish. They don't even know how to measure current with a multimeter, but they are trying to convince everyone that high resistance is bad for the battery, because it has to work so hard to push the electrons through.

Head->Table

We can't help it. It is pointless to argue measurements with people that have no clue what the numbers mean.

My conclusion: Lay back and vape. Let them struggle and explain and wonder why their super-duper coils don't work. Drink more beer. Chill out.

If you are in a good mood, show them your setup and let them have a draw. Maybe they'll ask you why it is working so well. Then is the time to explain.

Exactly why I didn't care to post real world measurements, it don't really matter unless there is a real serious issue. I run into people like that all the time. Have to be technical all time with their numbers. I'll get technical if something calls for it. Really the only important numbers are coil resistance & the battery. If there really was an issue with Reos that required all that waste of time then Robert wouldn't be selling so many with happy followers.

I hate crap like this but he asked for it. He kept saying to measure for ourselves. So I did & he won't even tell me what batteries he's using. Or maybe he didn't understand? Maybe he needs time to Google it? Maybe he's looking for a meter that will guage vapor productin, throat hit, & flavor. We have our brains for that. I don't think they sell replacements & upgrades for that. Can't teach someone common sense.

^^ I do think it was appropriate for his public diatribes to be publicly refuted. No way the bullish he was mumbling should be left for some poor soul to believe and take as any kind of valuable information. Normally I'm all about letting a troll be a troll and continuing on with my life without investing in any interaction with such folks. To me this was a wortwhile exception.
