I made my first batch of 0 nic e juice and it turned out better than I expected. I used just under 10ml of VG, 3 drops of tobacco Absolute pure and 2.5ml of Pure Ethyl Maltol Crystals. I got all the ingredients form The Perfume Apprentice web site. They suggested to use a little heat to help dissolve the crystals so after I mixed the batch in a 10ml bottle I put the bottle in a cup of water that I nuked for about a minute and that seemed to work. :toast:

what does maltol do to it?

Ethyl maltol is an organic compound that is common flavourant in some confectionaries. It is related to the more common flavorant maltol by replacement of the methyl group by an ethyl group. It is a white solid with a sweet smell that can be described as caramalized sugar and cooked fruit.

I went to Hobby Lobby for the flavors.

Put about 1 1/2 ml of the flavor to 7 or 8 ml of VG in a 10ml bottle. Thats pretty much it.

And of course if you like it stronger just substitute more flavor for VG.
We don't have a Hobby Lobby here, so I'll have to find some where else to get it.

What brand flavoring?

Congrats on your first batch. Warning - playing with flavors can become addicting in itself! I started a few weeks ago thanks to a kit from OneStopDIYShop and am finally getting to the point that I enjoy my DIY liquid for most of the day.

In answer to v1John, the Ethyl Maltol has a sweet flavor that takes some of the bite out of tobacco flavors. I find a lot of the tobacco flavors are a little to "herbal" tasting and it helps a lot.

Good to know! I bought that stuff and haven't tried it yet. Thanks. And welcome to ECF - you're already contributing!!

If they made such thing as "Burnt Atomizer' flavor, or burnt something, I wonder if it would help some tobacco flavors? I'm only talking about a drop or two per 5ml. :)

If you shop heaven gifts, next time include in your order (sometimes it's a free bottle but you have to put it in your cart) grab some of their charcoal roasted coffee, or the Red MLB flavor from their 'HG line'. It's strong and use it as a mix like you suggest above - a drop or two.
