Help me on this.

After reading, I had jotted down 10% as the amount that TFA Coconut Extra should go. This is in new 24mg nic from Wizard with new Coconut. I did the hot water steep, which I'm not sure if it did anything. But regardless of the strong floral/base flavor, I can't taste any coconut.

After reading a little more, but not finding any thing relating to this about Coconut, I saw that some people said to steep their TFA mixes (but they were multiple flavors) for a week.

For real? A week?

I picked coconut from the flavors I got yesterday because it smelled great. Not sure what I did wrong.

This was 0.5 ml into a 4.5ml of nic.

And, while I'm asking for help, are there certain TFA flavors that require little or no steeping?

Rule of thumb: dont swing for the homerun on the 1st pitch!

Never go 10% flavoring, try lower, like 3 to 5%,THEN add some more if too feeble (were talking drops here)

You WILL reach success much faster :)

P.S.

Your batch is not lost if still not to your taste after steeping a few days;you can try diluting what you have to reduce % of flavoring!

Lol...I'll make up some Mt Dew when I get home. And since people are saying they like stuff strong and using 20%, I'll do at least 15%.

Edited after I saw Martin's post...Hmm...Ok, I'll do 7% Mt Dew. Three seems so low.

I know with the coconut that I can't blame the nic fluid as I have a carto of it and it's nice, normal unflavored. I can't tell if it has a taste to itself as the CE3 it's in had peach in it before. :)

A few things...

Have you read my blogs?
I find that coconut flavoring to be good, but I think Capella's is great, so I usually go with Cap's when I have it in stock.
Your OP of the resulting juice sounded like #7 on my flavoring level chart, so the cute doggie from Canada's recommendation is on the right track.
Single flavoring mixes with TPA/TFA's sweeter flavorings do not need any steeping according to my notes, but it never hurts to set it aside for awhile and mix something else.

Hoosier's blog saved alot of my flavorings I was going to chuck out. Like you when I first started I thought every flavor from the same company should be mixed to the same level wow was I wrong. lol Now I always start a juice at lower % and work up from there. Read his blogs they are life savers. I don't use mts wizard though because smooth from tpa does the same thing and I am on a tight tight budget.

I use TPA's coconut but it is a strong flavor to me, so I use it in very small amounts with other flavors. For example, in a 30 ml bottle at 15% flavor, I use alot of pear, about .8 ml of sweet cream, and then .7 ml of coconut, and it tastes great. (That's .8 and .7, which is not quite 1 ml). I have never used coconut alone because I don't think I would like it by itself, but that's just me. For me it is more of a slight seasoning in my vape juices.

Plan after reading posts:
  • Remove 3ml from my 5ml (and keep it around, labelled)
  • Add 1 drop EM
  • Fill to 5ml with my nic base
  • Make another mix of a different flavor but around 4% rather than 10%.

Edited to add: Step 3.5 would be use MS Excel to figure out how much of what is actually in it. (Actually, it's 4%, if the math in my head worked right.)

watch out,Hoosier is in a good mood today

Sure am! Gen Con is getting close and I've finally gotten the hub spokes to stop bending in simulated stress testing by going to a much denser material which means the entire mass has changed and I have to start the CFD simulations all over again.

It's a happy day for someone who likes to pound expensive computers into the ground with massive calculations.

After reading about 1/3 of the epic vinegar thread, I'm going to add 1 drop of vinegar to my existing coconut first. Why not?

Man, I've learned more today than I have in a while.

Totally changing topics (though with such a nebulous thread title there's no way to get off topic):
Where can I buy small bottles locally? I got mad scientist mixin' to do.
