My First Mod...Thanks To "ThePuck"

well, here it is...

overpriced mail order batts have already started to "p" me off
thought i would take some advice from "ThePuck" and do the hometown thing
wanted to go as cheap, small and simple as i could
i threw this together over a weekend in spare time and couldnt be happier

i did have to use some mailorder parts...
batt connector
dual coil
ego cone
drip tip

everything else came from...
walmart-nimh batts and charger
radio shack-batt holder, switch
home depot, NOT LOWES-foam covering

have used it a full week and can go 2 full days of medium/heavy vaping on 4-2300mah nimh batts
now, that is with a 6-7 hour sleep time for me each day
i bought 2 sets of batts for rotating with smart charger, 6-8 hour charge each rotation
all i know how to check is batt output...with fresh batts, i read 5.3v at connector, after 2 full days
and batts cant push any more, i read 4.2v
may could use an atomizer and keep going, but i made this expressly for dual coils (all i use)
it puts out great... plenty of vapor, th and flavor, fires every time down to 4.2v
like the heading says...my first mod, just wanted to prove to myself that i could do it
many more ideas are in the works, in spare time of course, gotta pay the bills, lol

also, my camera is about due for some modding itself, or rather... a replacement, lol

very cool, and looks great. what batteries exactly do you use? i made a pv once and used 4 rechargeable batteries (that i got at walmart) just to see if it would work and the batteries only last about an hour between charges. i was using 2.0 ohm smok tech cartos.

i use 4-energizer 1.2v 2300mah nimh batteries
i was amazed at the time they go between charges
would have settled for 1 day, will take 2, lol

believe it or not, i cut a corner off of an old power adapter box with a grinder and trimmed it to size
epoxied it in place, and it hasnt moved yet
watched too much macgyver as a kid, lol

Nice touch! It looks like if you cut a wide enough "shelf" you could store a bottle of ejuice there too! I'm thinking a 2nd shelf near the top could hold it in place, then all you'd need is a bit of tubing. Hmmmm....

Very nice, gotta love the Puck! Now I have a use for my ego cones.

My first is a 4 AAA NiMh, lasts from breakfast to dinner
and recharges the batteries before dinner is over...
I'm currently working on a 3-4-5 AA model for a VV puck.

hey stosh, i have been wondering about vv with my nimhs

i just really dont have a lot of experience with electronics

i bought the vv kit (R2) from madvapes for an 18650, but started thinking about using it on my nimhs

i have room in the "box" i am currently working on

have you tried this before ?

would i be able to just use my 4-aa, 1.2 nimhs ?

any input would be appreciated

hey stosh, i have been wondering about vv with my nimhs

i just really dont have a lot of experience with electronics......

LOL, I was thinking the simple "Puck" way of VV, use two battery boxes, and wire them
for 5 NiMh batteries in series, that would be 6V nomial volltage using all the batteries.

Then use a jumper or battery spacer to replace one battery in the curcuit, amd you're at 4.8V average,
two jumpers or spacers and it drops to 3.6V.

The Puck give us a simple unregulated way to enjoy 5V vaping, adding or subtracting a battery
in the box is the simplest way to vary the voltage.

i did get it at rs, in another cabinet apart from the switches

i just used the one with the 9v attachments on top and ground them down
