Hi everyone, I'm planning to order my MaxxFusion starter kit today, it's my first e-cig so I'd be grateful for some advice re: cartomizers. What are your favorite flavors? If you were going to start with 3, which 3 would you pick? I was thinking maybe RY4, coffee, and either menthol or chocolate. I don't smoke menthols but have read here at the forums that lots of non-menthol smokers like menthol anyway. Would it be better to order maybe just one and get some liquid elsewhere to refill?

Regarding nic levels, I smoke American Spirit Ultralights, but I chain smoke them. For snus, I prefer the extra strong. Thought I would get a selection with 11, 16 and 24, unless you think I should skip the 11 while transitioning. And finally, do the different flavors taste better in any particular strengths?

Forgive me if I'm asking dumb questions, this is all so new to me. Thanks!

Hello and welcome! Please, don't worry about questions; at one point we were all where you are now, and all of us were helped out tremendously by this forum. I think you are going to love your MaxxFusion.

Personally I like having more than one flavor, and I use different nicotine strengths for different times of the day (higher nic in the morning, lower in the evening). Currently I have 8, 11 and 16 (I smoked a pack a day of menthol lights).

As far as flavors, everyone is different and some experimenting is inevitable. At some point in the near future, Bloog intends to have boxes of cartomizers with 5 different flavors (a sampler) so you don't have to buy a box of 5 just to find out it's not your cup of tea. I really love the Grape. I smoked menthols, so of course I like the menthol, and that is probably why I don't really care for any of the tobacco flavors. I also don't drink coffee, so that's why I don't go for that flavor either. I was surprised by how much I like the vanilla.

Good luck with your order, and please let us know how you like it!

Hello! I'm not sure how much help I can be but I'll try. I smoked a pack and a half a day of Kool Blue 100's. I vape 16 or 18 mg most of the day with 24 mg when I need it. Seems to me that at first 11mg might be too light, but I'm not sure. I haven't tried a lot of the flavors. But I have tried menthol, which I don't care for, but I seem to be the only one. LOL! And I've also tried the cherry, which is pretty nice. I've heard good reviews about the vanilla, which is what I'm going to try next. Good luck! And whatever you decide on, you couldn't have picked a better company to start with.

I recommend that as you are trying to quit, you stick with tobacco flavors. I originally got 510 equipment, an eGo kit and a bunch of frou frou sweet juices, caramel vanilla, tiramisu, stuff like that. It was good, but it wasn't a good cigarette replacement.

Since getting the Bloog, I vape all tobacco flavors, and I am very nearly completely analog free (1-2 a day, instead of a 1.5-2 PAD). I love the 555, the Kamel and the RY4. 555 is probably most analog-like, followed by Kamel. RY4 is sweeter, but very good. Red I don't really like.

Good luck. :)

Thanks so much for your responses. But now I'm scared - I picked up a $20 kit at the tobacco shop yesterday just to make sure the whole e-cig thing would work for me before making a real investment. I loved it immediately! BUT got a horrible sore throat, cough and headache after just a few drags, which has not gone away. I have lots of allergies and wonder if its the PG (which I gather would mean the Maxx Fusion won't work for me) or maybe thats just what vaping is like until you're used to it. Anyway it stopped me in my tracks, I have not ordered and am pretty bummed out. This thing is not refillable so I can't try other e-liquids. It's very tiny and cute, no bigger than a king size cigarette with tons of vapor and seems to a have a great auto battery. I noticed on their web site the e-liquid has ethanol and some other scary sounding ingredients (Home :: Revolution Electronic Cigarettes). Do you think I can plug a Bloog cartomizer into it to see if that works for me or could it explode? Yikes!

Kathie,
The sore throat, cough, and headache.... I had a sore throat for just a couple days, but that passed. I would cough on the first few vapes, but that also passed. The headache could be due to the nicotine level in what you bought... I think many of the ones sold at shops are High. Plus it dehydrates you a little more, so drink more water and that helps with all those symptoms. The ones you buy at shops are not anywhere as good as the ones you can get here... flavors are better, smoother, and they are refillable. If you thought yours tasted good, just wait til you try these! Although you could very well have a PG allergy, in which case there are VG cartos and juices available to see if that works better for you. Not all cartomizers are compatible with all batteries. You'd have to see if yours is from the kr808 family, otherwise it won't fit.
I wouldn't give up the whole idea until you've tried a couple other options first.

Also with the bloog you get a 30 day risk free trial. If you are not happy for any reason you can return it for a full refund. Also I would look around the new members forum... there is lots and lots of info on symptoms from making the switch and PG vs. VG. I wish you the best. Its definetly a journey when entering the world of ecigs to see what is the best fit for you. I wish you the best of luck...and always feel free to come here and ask questions ...even if it has nothing to do with bloog.

The threads on the cartos looked like the ones that came with my old 4081 NJoyPro. Definitely not compatible and limited in flavors. However, if you are dead set on keeping that battery, you could probably find an adapter that let's you use the Bloog cartos -- kr808. But I think in the long run you'd just be happier getting the Bloog MaxxFusion battery and then you can use the Bloog cartos and others that are the same style.

Thanks everyone for all your comments. I would really like to go with the Bloog if I can handle vaping at all. I love this little e-cig I bought but get such a bad sore throat that I can't even use it now.

Is it true though that the Maxx Fusion is not compatible with 100% VG? I would like to try the organic flavors I've read about but they are all VG.

Are you drinking extra water? I swear it helped me, sore throat gone 2 days after it started.
