I may well have gotten sold today at the B&M, but so far today I'm okay with it.

I stopped by a new B&M to see what they had in the way of RTAs, which was not much. The clerk recommended another local store, so I headed over there. They did indeed have one of the RTAs I was looking to look at, the Goblin Mini.

We chatted for a bit and I commented that I really liked my current setup (Subox Mini), but that I often got bored with flavors before the tank was finished, so I was looking for a second tank to alternate. He suggested an RDA instead. I was willing to consider it, so I asked him what he recommended. He asked if I preferred clouds or flavor and I responded that I liked both, but that flavor won out. I also mentioned that I liked to build coils in the range of .6-.8 ish.

He suggested the Troll. Now that I am home and have checked out the reviews, it seems that this is really built for super sub-ohm cloud chasing, which is not what I was looking for. I held off opening it for a few hours, thinking that I might try to return it, but decided to give it a try.

I did build a .6 ohm coil (after a few tries), and wicked it up, and I like it, I think it actually strikes the right balance for me! I've got a single coil, a small drip tip, and one air flow slot open, and I'm getting a decent cloud without fogging up the room and fair flavor.

So, now for newbie RDA questions:

-For anyone who has the Troll, what part should you be taking off to drip? Right now I'm taking the vent piece off, but I don't know if I'm doing it wrong.

-Drippers in general, how to tell you need a refill? I don't want to wait until I'm getting dry hits, but I'm not sure if there are other indicators

-Portability of juice. I have some 30ml bottles and obv. I don't want to carry those around. I'm thinking about washing out an old glass bottle or two (I've been chucking them, but I have a few that are down to the last drops of juice that I haven't tossed yet). What do most drippers do?

I don't have that particular dripper, so can't comment on your first question.

How do you tell when to refill? With experience, you'll start to notice after 6 - 10 puffs that the vape is beginning to taste a little "dry" or "burnt". Another puff or two and you'll get the dreaded "dry hit" --- something that you'll never forget. So, when you get that dry taste, re-drip your wick.

I tend to carry a couple of plastic bottles with different flavors with me in my pocket when out of the house. These can be old 10 ml or 30 ml plastic bottles. I try not to use glass bottles for when I'm outside the house since once I dropped one and lost all of my juice when the glass broke.

I found that i just kinda get into a rythmn with it, never had a dry hit... As soon as it tastes even a little burnt or less flavour i redrip.

Use the stumpy which has a small well but great flavour, and 2 vectors.. Those have a huge well and top air holes so i can't accidentally overfill and leak which is nice. Worst case if i got too enthusiastic i just turn upside down over sink let the excess drip out and its good to go.

Like they said, you'll develop a taste for it. You'll start to notice when a hit just tastes less than it should. Of course if you over drip and flood, it will taste anemic too. I don't have the troll, but with my other non bottom fed rda's I just remove the drip tip and drip from there. I also tend to reuse old small plastic juice bottles for out and about. The "unicorn" bottles are popular right now, they're long and skinny, like a big crayon.

The amount of drags you can take, greatly depends on the dripper (i don't own a troll) and build. On some of my attys it can be 2-3 drags and on my Origen i can go as long as 15-20minutes without dripping @35W.
With time, as you get accustomed to your device and build, you will notice vapor production dropping off slightly, that means it's time to drip. If you manage that, you can take your wicks out after a week, rinse them wont see any charring on them.

1. I would drip straight through the drip tip...

2. Taste and visual vapor production.

3. I prefer 10-15ml amber glass euro drip bottles.

1. I take the whole mid section off and all off of my troll when I drip it. Its easier to just do that, and I don't have to worry about adjusting my air flow again. Plus, the juice wells are pretty deep so you won't leak unless you tilt it sideways anyway. I just line up the air slots with the coils when I put it back on, but it can get a little tricky in the dark.

2. As far as knowing when to drip again, when your clouds aren't as thick as when you first dripped and the flavor tastes different then its time. You'll know what I mean after some experimenting.

3. I like to transfer my juice from 30ml bottles to 15ml bottles if I am going to be dripping on the go. I've never had a problem with the plastic squeeze bottles I buy, and 15 is more compact in the pocket. Thats when I'm not lazy. 30 isn't much of a hassle either.

The troll is a good RDA. Cheap, and pretty solid vapor production if you want it. Great with single or dual set ups!
