Hi Reo family... I just bought my first Reo - a Mini. (Yay! Reo dance

So I am looking at my atomizer choices and seeking the advice of the wise!

I'm an avid rebuilder (fan of twisted-wire nano micro-coils and cotton.) I like a somewhat airy draw. Definitely want a bit of room under the hood and on the deck so I can play with coil sizes.

I checked this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/377836-reo-compatible-rbas-23.html and it looks like my choices for rebuildables that are Reo Mini compatible are:

1) REOmizer - I was told this will work if you order it from Reosmods and request it to be specially milled for the Mini
2) Hornet
3) A7 Mini (issue with center post will actually disqualify this one for me)
4) Surface
5) mcARB
6) Achilles
7) Cal-H BF
8) Killer 705
9) Aero BF rba

Would you all recommend your favorite rebuildable for the Mini, and why you like it so well?

SO happy to be joining this family - thanks in advance for your advice :)

Hi! *wave* Welcome to the tribe!

You didn't say which mini REO you bought, unfortunately there are 3 different ones with differently sized catch cups: There is the original Mini for 14500 batteries that is no longer produced, but you might have found one in the classies. This has the smallest catch cup and you want a RM2 (special order from Rob for the Mini 14500), or a Hornet.

Then there is the Mini 2.0 which also is no longer produced. It takes 18490 batteries and would take the same atties as the 14500.

Then there is the Mini 2.1 which is currently produced - it takes all the atomizers the Grand takes, including the RM2 and the Cyclone without AFC cap in BF mode.

Which one do you have? =)

Anyway - if you want room to build coils, you want a RM2 from reosmods.com - just let Rob know what mod it is for so his elves can turn it down to whatever size needed.

RM2 because you can make just about any coil in it. Some of the others are hard to get hold of, expensive, posts too close together unless you only use microcoils etc.

The RM2 also has a ceramic base which means there is one less thing to worry about shorting to. It has screws and not allen bolts so a screwdriver is all you need.

It is brass with a chrome coating, so if you have metal allergies then you may want to stick with SS atties. A7's and mini A7s are fine but you will need to make sure there is no centre post wobble, because that has been a cause of short-circuits in the past.

Yes....the original Mini. But the RM2 fits just fine. With the 14500 battery you won't want to go too low with the ohms of your RM2.....I usually use a 1.1 ohms coil....and it's perfect. You're going to be amazed at how small it is......really just a little bigger than a BIC lighter. Go read this thread for awhile and you'll see some size comparisons. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...os-storage-ideas-part-ii-45.html#post10029351

Or....here's a really cool thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/224175-reos-timeline-pictures.html

Have fun!

I have never used the 14500 size REO, but the above recommendations are pretty much what I was gonna say... I think the BF Hornet would work on the Mini. It seems small enough. It can be tricky to find places that stock BF RDAs. My rule of thumb is that if the website does not specifically prompt you to choose top fed or bottom fed, they prolly only have the top fed versions.

Another good thing to have with you is an extra stock atomizer or two. The other day, the coil on my RM2 died on my way to my internship. If I did not have a spare 510 atty, I would have to go without vaping for around 12 hours! I just bought some Joyetech 510 atomizers for that specific purpose.

Call me different. I have 2 RM2's, an ERA bottom feeder and a bottom fed Hornet. On the Mini (14500) I actually enjoy the Hornet the most. Maybe its the tiny size, the way it fits or just the great Vape I get from it at 1.1 ohms.
Not sure if its the size of the chamber or what. The only shortcoming I have found with it is that excess juice doesn't drain as readily as it does on the RM2. Otherwise its a favorite on my mini.

Nothing wrong with that, just personal preference. I don't use RM2s either for various reasons.
