Well I started with the ego t which quite quickly became very annoying trying to vape with. stuff all flavor or vapor in the end, not to mention very hard to drag on. then I bought a few lr306 attys and a couple of drip tips. I only put one drop down the tip at a time and I seem to always get leaking all over my hands which sucks bigtime. who wants to have to wipe they're hands every 5 mins? Who has a tried and tested combo going that they are pretty damn happy with? Please give me a rundown on what you have and what you do to maintain. I know it will never be 100% but it shouldn't be this hard. thanks in advance.

I've probably told my story a million times here on the forums, but in the short time i've been vaping i've done the 510's, the Ego-T, and the Reo Mini.
I swear, I NEVER thought I'd do a box mod..........thought they were ugly, etc. but since I've got the mini, I don't have to refill constantly, don't have to change batteries constantly, it's clean & perfect. They are expensive.
I fill a small bottle that lasts me all day, pop a rechargable lithium ion battery in..........ta da my vape experience is now perfect. (not messy, not time consuming)

Of course there are less expensive bottom feeder box mods sold here on the forums. Give a bottom feeder a chance, you might just find what you are looking for!

Well, dripping can certainly be messy and the ego-t attys are hit and miss for some folks. 1 drop at a time really shouldn't be causing flooding to a degree that it leaks... but no matter what, dripping can be messy.

I have a couple of things in my go-to kit that are always satisfying when nothing else is. But I don't have anything that fulfills my every vaping desire. I have not found a perfect product.

I can say this, though: No matter where I am and no matter what PV I'm carrying, I *always* have a regular 510 atty with a pyramid teabag modded cart near by. - It doesn't matter at all if I'm using one of my mods or my ego batteries or what. I've been using my ego-t a lot lately and I've been using my ego megas fairly often too. I sometimes carry a bottom feeder and I have a rough stack I use on the weekends... No matter what, though: I always have a 510 atty and cart. That combination is highly reliable and always performs as expected.

Topping off carts sucks. No doubt about it. I've never read a single person saying that they really like topping off carts. So, that's the drawback to using a regular atty with a cart. But, it's hard to beat a regular atty for reliability. A regular old 510 atty is the most likely thing to just plain behave and do what I expect it to do.

I've found success with a 510 atty and a drip tip. If you're spilling, you're overdripping. It takes a while to get the rhythm of it, and you'll either be getting dry hits or juice all over the place.

I did that today, because I'm waiting for my infinity's charger to arrive and trying to conserve the vaping perfection that is variable voltage. It's pretty good, if a bit mild.

Still, I might have to buy a little box mod with a feeder system. Everyone raves about OldGoatMods.com. Or go all-out and get an ali'i...

this mod box thing sounds good. could you tell me where to order this from and if I need anything else to go with it. I am not overly worried about price if its gonna cure a few headaches.

The site for the reo is reosmods.com. I got my mini and it's wonderful, wonderful!!!! It was a present to myself for being analog free for one year, yeah! I'm now sorry I waited so long. I also used an ego, Riva, chuck and tried a wetbox. All substandard to say the least. Filling carts all of the time was a chore and leaking all of the time always carrying paper towels with me, etc. is now over. The wetbox had issues with leaking inside the box and shorting out the switch. Had it repaired twice, not worth the money in my opinion. The reo is positively perfect! I'm thinking about getting a grand now which can go to 5v if you want and also has a 6 ml bottle. The mini is smaller with a 3ml bottle. You'll need an atty, drip tip,14500 protected batteries for the mini or 18650 or 2 cr123's for the grand. It's recommended to get imr or high drain for these mods but I've been using regular 14500 protected on my mini with no problem whatsoever. They aren't available all of the time so you'll have to go to the website and register and get ready. I believe the grands go on sale this Friday or Saturday at 7pm eastern time. The vendor also has wooden mods for sale sometimes. You certainly won't go wrong with them at all. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I've been dripping for a long time on 510 atty's, mostly LR's but that doesn't matter. It just takes practice to know when to drip. I got juice all over at first too but once I recognized when I needed to drip and figured out how much all was good. You'll know when it's time to drip again when the flavor starts changing just a bit and the atomizer makes a slightly different hissing noise. Then it's time to put 3 drops again. I don't think I've overfilled in months.

OP - I am having similar 'headaches' , I am saving up for the new PV from digitalciggz called the Eclipse. That thing looks amazing! I really wanted an Ali'i (I think someone mentioned it in here) but they're sold out :( and take around a month to get to ya. The Eclipse is going to cost around $250-$300, and I don't think that'll cover batteries and charger but! sometimes it's good to spoil oneself, especially when the spoiling prevents you from smoking (I'm rewarding myself for good grades :) ) But really, who needs a reason? Good luck finding your answer!

The Ali'i is one sweet mod, and has a variable volt option as well which is awesome. I opted for a provari myself. I became quite proficient at dripping. Its a skill you will acquire with time and practice. I rarely make messes any more these days. With the ego try using the cone. It will (1) tighten the draw which many like, myself included. (2) it acts as a drip cup that will hold overflow that may spill out the bottom. You can get XL 306 drip tips for use with the ego cone. or you can also buy a riva cone, the threads will fit the ego but the cone is a little shorter so it will work better with the regular length 306 drip tip.

Some atomizers are just more leaky than others, even from the same company.

If you really like dripping, I'll go along with bottom-feeder box mod. Like a lot of people, I saw them and instantly rejected the who concept. Then, I got a REO Grand and I've not vaped on any other unit in the last two weeks. I can't say it's perfect, but it's very good.

I'm waiting for my Ali'i variable volt to arrive. I don't have any illusions about vv... I'm not very interested in knowing if I'm vaping at 4.7 or 4.8. I'm just hoping that if I'm in a situation where I'm not getting an interesting vape, nudging the vv dial a bit might help.

Then again, if the Ali'l vv works for me... I'm going to be searching for a vv built like the REO Grand. As far as I know, there isn't one.

Practice, practice, practice.

I don't know about others but my first few weeks of vaping, I swam in juice. Then I read, read & read here on ECF and tried all the cart/plug mods which led to more practice. Now, I've got a pretty good fit/feel/fill/system going and I love it.

I got hooked on the 801 with the first round of Janty Sticks and have stuck with them since - now using my 801 Bartleby (AA box mod).

So don't get too down, just keep at it and maybe try some of the new cartos out there. the CE2 (?) look a whole lot like the eGo-T but the draw on the juice is up (not down).

Go Go,,
My favorite device has been the Xhaler with 306 atty and drip tip.
When i bought the Go Go it changed alot. Top off a couple carts in the morning and vape all day long, no problem yet with leaks, and for the price... kit is around 60.. and 5 carts are 15. I have gotten just about a month on my first two carts. Still vaping great for my taste...
So i recommend this product..

ego battery with the shorty clearomizer (the XL clearomizers don't wick as well) Take out the clearmoizer inner seal, put a real drip-tip on it (not the tiny one they include with a pack of 5) It's cheap, fool proof and comes closer to dripping than anything I have tried. I'm getting a bottom feed from oldgoat, but I can't see abandoning the ego battery with clearomizer any time soon.

The MONKEYBoxx by TomB has a VV option that is built like the REO Grand. If you check out his thread here, he has a great youtube video showing it as well as new pictures. He does custom engraving that is also awesome! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...volt-monkeyboxxvv-variable-voltage-model.html
