Hello all. First post for me. Sorry for the length here. Wanted to say hi and probably post what so many have posted before me but man it is so overwhelming. I have been smoking for 14 years. Really hate what it is doing to my health. Have tried patches, gum etc and none of it helped for more than a day or so. Well, I used smoke away once and worked for about a week but right back to smoking. I have just started exploring vaping for a couple weeks or so and have cut down to about half of my analog intake. Was a pack a day smoker and have smoked 10 or less a day for the week replacing most mid day analogs with vaping. I haven't found the right thing for me to give up my morning and night ones yet. So my issue is what will allow me to give up analogs for good. I have read alot on this forum through google searches but it has been overwhelming to say the least. From hours and hours of research I have only felt comfortable going the mainstream commercial route so far. I bought a Blu, of course right, original kit from walgreens, had that for about a week and ordered a V2 kit from alot of online research and reviews. Hated the V2 flavors. Tasted like garbage. Had chocolate garbage, cofee garbage, first opened pack of cigarette flavored garbage and the red tasted like feet I guess for variety.(just my opinion though everybody is different) I did like their strength though but that kit will be going back because can't take the flavors and I didn't really like the 100% PG as it felt to heavy on my lungs and made me cough. I have also purchased a blu premium 100 and feel the batteries last longer and it's an okay battery and I like that they ship right by me because through regular mail I get my order from them in around 2 business days. I love their flavors however their strengths aren't stong enough to make me comfortable to stop completely. Their strongest is 16 MG and I think I need at least 18 MG. I have just ordered some blank carts and 100% VG juice from johnson creek, hoping they fit the blu batt, to try a little stronger and hope it works.

So that is where I am at as of today. Just overwhelmed and confused. I have done enough research online that I have looked up an ego-t? thought was a brand not a type but guess I was wrong and got flooded with information. I saw tanks which peaked my interest but wouldn't even know where to start so wanted to post here to get some advice on what to buy while I am still in my return phase on everything except the original blu pack. Also my wife is trying to quit with me.

So what should I buy? How did you guys decide where to buy from? Was it random? Money isn't a huge deal for me as I have around $400 worth of returnable kits right now but I would like to get something around $200 total or less for 2 set ups that will be solid enough for me and my wife both to give it a try at switching. Maybe a little over if needed and worth it. I also don't want anything monstorous would like it to be discrete as possible and of course as portable as possible. I have to go VG, would like to try 80/20 or 70/30 to see if I like the throat hit better than 100% VG but I know I can find that online and just play around until I find stuff I like. I would like refilling to be as easy as possible without alot of down time. Am I asking too much here? I know this is alot of rambling and I am sorry but that is what my brain feels like after a couple weeks of research and I am hoping somebody can make this easier for me.

Hey Worthatry, welcome to the ECF. Congratulations on making the switch to ecigs.

I think the simplest would be an eGo Twist VV battery and Mini Vivi Nova tank. Easy to use, economical, not too big, comes in various sizes and colors, and works great! Great for newbies, but even some long time vets like this set up.

I am sure other folks will come along shortly to help you more. Good luck on your vaping journey.

I second this. It should hit your budget price point. You could get one for each of you. Since you do have the blues for backup. If you find out right away that you like this setup, order backups right away. Ideally you should have two batteries per person and two delivery systems (or more ;) ) per person. At least two complete chargers (one per person, you can always purchase more later).

I got my daughter and her boyfriend setup with basically what I just typed out. I didn't go with a kit because I was looking for different colored twists and the total for all of that was about $100 for each person. That's a rough estimate.

I'm very happy with the Joye Tech eGo-C's I have, but I did not get the kit, just the batterys. They have the 510 connectors, just like the Blu's do, but battery life is way better. I went with a company that I heard GrimmGreen mention (altsmoke[dot]com) in one of his Youtube videos.

If you have the time, check out youtube and search for GrimmGreen, P Busardo, and igetcha69. They do a lot of reviews of all the different things out there on the market, and have helped me choose my current vape tools.

Since the eGo Twist is what I just went with - I of course agree with the others that have suggested this. I also got the Vivi Nova and I am still not completely sure about it. I also got a Kanger T2 clearomizer and I think I like it better. I find it a little smaller (so I like the look better) which of course is probably just me being a newbie at this  As well - because of size I went with the 650 mAH for the two I got in a kit and then I ordered one 1000mAh for use at home.

While I know others have had problems (leaking) with them - I also got several of the CE4 or Stardust clearomizers and I really like them best so far. Seem to have the better flavor than the others - but as I said I am still really new at this. I have had one crack and one that was no good on opening (hard to describe but a seal fell into the juice - not the 0 ring - and I could not see any way to get it back into place. However, I have had 3 others that I have been using for the past 25 days and they have been great.

I also got some of the Kanger horizontal coil cartomizers and they are handy for when I am out and feeling I don't want the look of the Clearomizer - but not too crazy about the flavor compared to the stardust's.

I was smoking about 30 cigarettes a day - so I started with 18mg and I think it might be a little too much - not sure if it is because I was smoking a light low nic brand. So my next order I decreased to 15mg and that is working pretty good. Although the few (and they have been very few) times I have thought about smoking - I have just vapes some 18mg and the desire has gone away.

I agree that eventually you will want 2 batteries each as well as 2 chargers. The only other item I went with was a personal charging case - which is handy to have with you - if you are going to be away from a wall or computer and need to charge.

Only other "thing" I found is I got the 2 650 mAh batteries in black and I really love the feel. Not sure how to describe other than to say not slippery - which is how I find the 1000 mAh battery that I got in the Stainless Steel. So if I had to do it again - that is the only thing I would change.

So good luck - I am still in awe that I have not smoked in 24 days (and have no desire) after doing so for 46 years. I just had coffee with a friend and she smoked 4 cigarettes right in front of me and I just vaped. Absolutely no desire to smoke - and when I started this - I did not want to quit, had no intention of quitting - I was just experimenting to see if it would help me cut down.

Ego twist and Vision vivi nova all the way. Ive been vaping for over a year, and spent ridiculous money on pv's and i still find myself using an ego twist with a vivi nova. Doesnt matter what size battery cause you should get a day out of even a 650mah should last a day (it does for me just barely though). If your overwhelmed by brands go with joye tech. In my opinion id stay away from mini novas some people like them i found they are a little small if your using high vg juices. They dont seem to wick as well as the 3.5ml vivi's. And if you go with a ego set up get a thread cover it makes it look a little nicer. Juice wise other than throat hit i didnt notice much difference with nicotine content between 12mg and 18 and juice wise i only use 100%vg if available its a lighter throat hit and it creates lota of vapor. Also if you want something more discrete than a vivi nova look into the vision eternity its a little pricey compared to the vivi but its an awesome atty IMO

Welcome to ECF worthatry! I agree with all the Twist and VN recommendations. I googled for a kit containing those items and came up with this. $94 seemed a bit expensive at first, but they include the following:

2x Joyetech eGo-C Twist 650mAh Batteries (upgrade to 1000mAh batteries available - add $4)
1x Vivi Nova Tank Set (choose 2.0ml or 3.5ml and includes tank and three 1.8 ohm heads)
5x Vivi Nova replacement heads - 2.8 ohm
1x USB Wire Charger
1x A/C to USB Coverter
1x eGo Thread Cover - (Small if 2.0ml tank chosen, Large if 3.5ml tank chosen)
1x E-Cig Zippered Carrying Case - Large
1x Empty 3ml Dropper Bottle (for carrying your liquid with you)

I would include a couple of these in my order at 2.1-2.4 ohm. I would not buy a 5-pack until you know you like them. A lot of people seem to like the Kanger T2 clearo, but I have not tried one myself and couldn't find them at My Freedom Smokes to keep shipping costs down.

Wow, good find!!! Even has a thread cover and a spare ejuice bottle and a zippered case.

I would say, definitely go with the MINI Vivi Nova and the 650 mAh Twist. Since you said you don't want such a big set up. Don't forget that you can get colored metal sleeves separately for the Mini Vivi, to jazz it up a bit if you like. I would also get a spare thread cover so that each battery has one.

Wow thanks for all the information everybody. And that was a very nice find bigsmke. I have been searching and saw no good kits. My only reservation is how discrete and portable these are. Portable for obvious reasons and discrete because my job is very antismoking and makes you leave the premises to smoke and i know from experience i can secretly vape the blu. They look pretty big in the photos, especially with the tank on it not sure if they show the 650s or 1000s. Also I noticed while researching it appeared the other egos broke down into five parts. Are these parts that need to be replaced? I am just a little weary now because as is I have $450 worth of ecig stuff already in less than a month though I will be returning some of it but my wife is not as patient as I am lol. I just want to get something that will fit my needs and get me off of analogs for good.

The Ego twist is a great device and the mini VIVI Nova, authentic not knockoff, works great and I have had 0 issues with them. For the morning and night hit I would suggest getting a higher nic level juice and a smaller atomizer/tank for those so you can get that instant charge that many of us craved for a long time. As for flavors I would suggest grabbing some from the different online sites and would look at the different flavors. So far my best juices have come from maddcatt Vapors but you may have different experiences. The kit that bigsmke sent is a great value and the first of it's kind I have seen like that, might have to get one myself...

Haven't heard much about the Eroll but based on what it is, might want to look at it.

I also wanted to add I know these aren't smoke at all but you would have to know my job to know why I don't want to have that conversation. It would be a waste of breath and would put me under the microscope.

I understand worthatry. If I were looking for a really stealthy pv, along with the ERoll I would probably give these guys a look. Don't have one myself, but have heard good things about them.

Thanks guys. I don't need it to be that small. The blu premium 100s are good enough as far as size goes. 2 weeks of those and I don't have alot off complaints. I get probably 2 to 3 hours of decent vaping out of the batteries and will usually burn the heck out of my carts before I run out of battery. I don't think the 1.6% is strong enough at first so that's why I have ordered some 510 blank carts (hoping they fit because I have seen people say it does and doesn't on google) and 1.8% ejuice from Johnson's Creek because they are 100% VG on their Red Oak line (will go to 2.4% to start if needed, whatever it take to quit). If they don't fit then sadly I think my Blu will have to go back but I really do like it as of now for the purpose I want it to serve.

As for the Ego-C twist am I right in assuming it's much larger than the Blu premium 100 battery? If so I think what I am going to do is get just one of the Ego-C twists with a charger and one of those tanks for heavy vaping time at home and in the car and really bad days and use my Blu(as long as I can find some blanks to fit so I can use stronger juice) for work and more mobile situations.

One last question if anybody knows, if the 510 carts do fit does that mean any 510 threaded accesories will fit the blu battery? Carts, clearomizers, tanks etc. I know it may look funny but will they fit?

Last update for now. I have now realized I messed up and ordered cartridges and not cartomizers . Not going to do me any good. On a good note I have now realized I have a madvapes store roughly 20 minutes from my house. :toast: I am guessing I can go in there and it isn't just a shipping center. From a post on here I could find they are open 12-5 Sundays so I think I will drop in there tomorrow to get some cartomizers and check out the Ego twist and Nova if they have it and maybe some ejuice. Thanks for all the help and the warm welcome everybody.
