Hey guys! Finally decided to get some balls and start posting on the forum - I'm usually pretty shy when it comes to providing my opinions in public places, but I guess it's about time to unload all the stuff I've been doing/thinking about here seeing as I can't post anywhere else yet. LOL Everyone's gotta be a newb at one point...
And, by the way, [brackets] will be used to denote input I've added to my original questions more recently.
Important things i've learned [since] day one
Day 1:
DON'T DRIP AND DRIVE!!!
[No, seriously, DON'T EVEN .......ING TRY!]
The first thing i noticed was that at least a few of my cartridges had leaked a little bit of juice into their original packaging.. I was a little bit thrown off, thinking that either something happened to the package while shipping, or the supplier just did a bad job of keeping everything contained in the cartridges...
[I've come to realize that cartridges can very easily get messy if they aren't transported very carefully, and especially if they're brimming with juice =]]
Your atomizer is flooded if you hear it gurgling when you take a drag. Avoid this by dripping directly onto the metal wick with no more than 3 drops. [Your atomizer is dry after you get lots of vapor and almost no throat hit or flavor]
If you smell or taste burning you are either dragging faster than the e-juice can be wicked or you are out of juice period. Yes, I went through an entire 510 cartomizer (and then some) on my first day.
[Update: Day 31] I've refilled my cartos a few times and found that they seem to have less of a down-time wicking juice to the atomizer, but take a really long time to get totally dry, so maybe the carto wasn't -completely- dry.
Forethoughts:
1. Cartomizers are harder to refill but much much easier to use on the go.
[Update: Day 18] I've also heard that cartomizers provide a better flavor, and upon my few experiences so far, I think it's better than carts, but not as effective as the first couple hits off of a fresh drip.
2. Carts are easier to refill and know how much liquid is left in them by just looking at the filler.
eGo specific: Cartomizers are easier than carts/atties because you can replace cartomizers without having to take the cone off.
Q: I need to find out about variable voltage vaping with cartomizers... Would it burn out the heating element more quickly than standard voltage?
[A: ?]
Day 2:
Regarding atomizer wicks:

Day 18:
Got my second batch of juice from FSUSA today and I'm having a field day! Took out a nice full cart of RY4 =] [first time i've actually gotten to fill one up since before I ran out of my starter juice a few days ago] and I'm very happy... Let a couple of smokers try out a little of the SmoothCappuccino and French Toast that I'd been mixing and they really enjoyed it!
Checked out a nice video about steeping:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/133026-steeping-my-opinion.html
(for DIYers, but I'm sure the technique is similar to how you'd let Pre-mixed juice steep)
Apparently it's a good idea to leave the bottle open in a cool dark place for a day, but after trying some of FreedomSmokeUSA's Hypnotic Mist that had been sitting closed in my basement for a few days and the flavor has already changed dramatically from a super-sweet cotton candy like flavor to something like a caramel dreamsicle with a fresh floral finish.
[Mmmmm.. sensation alliteration]
So, now I'm about to go to bed and my atty's loaded with some CappuccinoSmooth and Chocolate. I can't wait to wake up!! =]
Day 20:
After trying a bunch of different flavors today, I ran my battery dry for the first time... and i can't really remember the last time i charged it lol =] it was probably a bit more than a day of heavy vaping. The vapor production was perfect until maybe within a minute or two of when I saw the button on my ego passthru blink 40 times. hehe cool.
Q: How many volts/ohms am I running on my cignot joye ego passthru/standard black metal 510 atomizer?
[A: 3.2 volts/ 2.5 ohms / 4.096 watts/ 1.28 amps
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-wanted-know-plus-bit-electronic-theory.html]
Q: What is the best way to try a bunch of flavors at the same time?
[A: Debridged atty on a variable voltage mod(or regular battery)]
Q: What does taking the wick (or most of the wick) out of a 510 atomizer really do?
[A: Reduces buildup of burnt juice and allows for faster cleaning]
Day 31:
I love the casuality, the FLAVORS, and many benefits of vaping.
My hands down, absolute favorite part about vaping is the unexplainable satisfaction of taking a deep[and deeper each day =]] breath after each puff on my beloved eGo.
I got my best friend to start referring to them as analogs XD ..he's really interested in trying out vaping now.
[I also got 2 of my NON-SMOKER friends interested in vaping (not on purpose!!) and am wondering what to say / whether to support them, even though they are planning on vaping no-nic liquids]
Still thinking about getting a mod... The Buzz is my favorite prospect as of now.
CoffeeX/CappuccinoSmooth/Vanilla Tahity/CappuccinoSmooth[~26mg] 5:25AM
P.S. I have started to really dive into my saxophone playing and I honestly don't know what I would do if I had kept smoking analogs, so... Thank you, ZeeCigs Shawn, MisstressNomad, Ritalee76, GrimmGreen, Vicki at Cignot.com, Dave and friends at FreedomsmokeUSA.com, DonDaBoomVape, Dr. Vapor, HighPing, Phee, Shan B, and most of all...
YOU!!!!
Please, feel free to reply with any corrections, insight, or questions about my vaping experiences thus far. And keep on vaping!
