Ok, so I have a couple kayfun Lite Pluses that I've been using for about a month. I rebuilt one with a 1.3 ohm microcoil and organic cotton wick as I usually do and then started to vape it. It worked well for a couple minutes and then...LEAKED all over the place via the airhole. So while I'm scurrying around for a towel, this damn thing leaks the entire tank of juice all over my mod and desk. After getting my mess cleaned up, I take the thing apart to try and figure out what the issue was. The coil wasn't too high, and the wick didn't seem to be too small, so I'm at a loss.

I rebuilt the thing again, new coil/wick, everything. Now it works without a problem as usual.

What the heck?

do you fill from a bottle? most of the times I fill with syringe and don't have issues but sometimes I have used just the bottle tip. sometimes with a bottle tip as your filling theres no room for air to escape or something and especially when done filling the bottle sucks back whatever air is in the tank. not 100% sure but it seems like my lite has leaked from airhole only when I filled from bottle. another reason could it just may have not been sealed up all the way. maybe somewhere there was a seal that wasn't 100% tight.

Yeah I thought the same, but couldn't find any evidence of a pinched o-ring, etc. I fill using a syringe, pre-measured out so I know how much is going in (I use the metal windows).
Still scratching my head about it.

yah, if using a syringe so much for my first idea. my bet would be that either the chimney wasn't tightened all the way to the base, or the tin mans cap wasn't tightened all the way onto the chimney

I find my Kayfun leaks occasionally when I use a high PG juice. And I don't use microcoils, I use fat, chunky silica. I believe the right amount of leakage creates a syphon of sorts. If I catch it early, I just invert it and take a few quick vapes and that dries it up. If it starts to leak badly, I invert it and blow through the airhole. Any extra juice gets blown up through the chimney and the tank remains full.

Always invert when you sense leaking in a Kayfun!

Like vapdivrr said, it sounds like your tank wasn't sealed airtight. The most common culprit is the oring in the topcap not sealing right onto the chimney tube. Sometimes it comes unseated from it's home on the top cap and even though the oring seals onto the chimney tube, the oring isn't sealing onto the topcap, breaking the vacuum and causing the e-liquid to flood the chamber all the way down to level with the air hole inside the chamber.

This is why i didn't get a kayfun, too many reports that it cannot be laid sideway and etc
I really do feel sorry for you. If this is the reason you don't have a Kayfun, then you must be the most skeptical person in America.

There are now thousands of Kayfun users. Naturally you'll hear a lot of "negative" things due to the fact that this is what most people post about. Many of the leaks are due to user error.

I have 2 Kayfun Lites, 1 Kayfun Lite Plus, and 1 Russian 91% (Kayfun Lite clone). I've never had a whole tank of juice leak out. And these LIVE on their sides all day with no problems at all. These are the most leak-free atomizers I own.

I have had a couple or so minor leaks out through the fill hole on my Kayfun 3.1 ES, but nothing major. I always top fill because of the issues with the fill valve sometimes sticking. The minor leaks only occur when I top fill and not paying attention to leaving a small gap at the top of the tank. I then engage the first thread or so on the top cap and then invert and wait a second for the air bubble to rise to the top.

If I don't do that then I get a minor leak, but it stops right away and I just wipe the dribbled fluid up with a piece of paper towel.

I leave my Kayfuns laying on their sides all the time and have had no leaking issues in that regard at all.

I hope your leaking issues get resolved soon... it can be a real PITA for sure!

I've had problems with leaking upon my first two tries with the Kayfun 3.1.

Wicking seems to be the main problem. I tried placing it to the side of the Negative & positive post, avoiding the air flow channels.

Problem solved. Placed it lying sideways and still no leaking

Tutorial on KF Lite setup. Wicking commences at 15.50 mins
