disclaimer: I know these things have safety switches that I'm supposed to screw up to lock to prevent such accidental firing

I'm using a Nemesis and love the form factor and vapor I get out of this. However, on two separate occasions; I've accidentally not screwed the lock fully and put it in my jacket pocket only to notice a burning feeling several minutes later and the tank leaking.

Just today, I was at work and my wife was cleaning up my computer desk and stood my mods up. She came back later and noticed a hissing sound and saw my mech leaking. She almost burned herself and called to give me a well deserved verbal lashing.

This is super scary as I'm not sure how close I was to having something explode so close to me.

Anyway, this is the only mech I've seen/used and I'm not sure if there are other mechs that maybe have a recessed firing button on the bottom that would provide an added level of safety.

I know I shouldn't leave things around so carelessly so please, I'd rather not deal with the deriding posts. I have no access to B&M stores so cannot check these out in person. Would anyone recommend a nice (copper preferably), non-telescopic 18650 mech? My atty's include a kayfun, taifun, eleaf tanks and a veritas rda (my current fave).

Much appreciated.

p.s. I'm waiting to get a regulated box mod but still wouldn't mind having a couple of mechs on hand as backups.

For a 22mm mech with an unlockable recessed switch, like an SMPL, these vinyl end caps work perfectly. I've never had my SMPL fire in my pocket, but I use it on occasion when required (in a backpack, etc).

I think it might even give some added security for a mod with a less than stellar lock ring (like the Nemesis).

I have done this twice so far as well with my Nemesis. I like almost everything other than the lock mechanism on this mod. It is far too much of a hassle to lock after every use. One thing that helped a bit was stretching the spring to almost double it's original length. This created a more solid throw that is less likely to allow accidental firing. Of course you still need to lock it to actually be safe, but It at least helps shift the odds of not making a pipe bomb in your pocket a little bit in your favor.

One interesting mod I have seen is the Prax1s mod. It has a double action switch that makes the mod auto lock. Basically, the button is recessed and you push the it to the side then push it in to fire the mod. By design, this mod locks whenever you let go of the switch. I haven't tried it or even seen it in person, but it looks like an excellent option to help avoid this problem.
