I got a chrome SB on the Classifieds last week, and it arrived today. I slapped a freshly-charged battery in it, put a Vivi Nova with a 1.8ohm head on top (Loaded with HHV's Gandalf), and started vaping right away.

Wow. This is a nice mod. Not quite as versatile as a VV/VW mod, granted, but I can do the basic math needed to get the best vape from it with whatever tank, carto, or atty I want to use.

It does OK with the Vivi Nova, but I'm seeing why some folks say the Vivi Nova will give you "muted" flavors--the flavor DOES seem a little muted with both this head and the 2.4ohm head I had in another Vivi (filled with AiV Zombie Apocalypse). They are good, but seem to be missing that WOW taste that I get from my VV/VW mod (an AcryliMax).

But the AquaVapor 901 attys I tried on it seemed to do REALLY well (nice flavor and vapor) and the 510 SMOK cartos do pretty well too (Pink Spot "Swagger"--wow). I've got some Boge 2.0ohm cartos from Avid that I want to try, so I'll be loading one of those up with some AiV "Twas Brillig" later tonight and giving that a shot--I have high hopes!

This mod is SOLID. It just feels REALLY good in the hand, and the button is just silky-smooth. I don't think I've tried a mod with a button this smooth and solid-feeling.

And to be honest, I'm not even tempted to put a Kick in it. This is a GREAT "bare bones" mod--it's simple, solid and it vapes well. I think this is going to become my "work-a-day" mod that I take when I'm out and about, and I'll start leaving the AcryliMax at home for my evening vaping.

I also received the J-Wraps skin for it today--a white carbon fiber skin--and put it on immediately after I polished and cleaned it. It looks REALLY slick with the skin--the textured carbon fiber skin won't show fingerprints like the chrome finish does, and it isn't slippery like the bare metal. I've also put a lanyard ring on it so I can wear it around my neck when I want. (I'm a little afraid to put this mod in my pocket, without any sort of lockout on the button...)

I'm starting to understand why so many people are still so keen on these mechanical mods. I LOVE my high-tech VV/VW AcryliMax, but the Silver Bullet is just one solid piece of combat-grade, simple-as-pie vape gear!

Actually I'm thinking about figuring out a way to put a Nivel in (or on) it. I've heard a lot of issues with the Kick's reliability, and the idea of dropping nearly $50 on a board that may or may not fail in the next few months is NOT attractive. And it has no external display.

I'm thinking a tube that screws on to the TOP with a Nivel board in it, sort of like a passthrough would work. It would be a little top-heavy, but it would be unique and wouldn't require any modifications to the SB itself to give me Nivel performance with a rock-solid mechanical mod core...

I mean, they DO call them "mods" for a reason, right?... ;-)
