My latest creation! If you've seen the pre-release photos of the Jantystick you'll see it's somewhat similar in shape, although I've had the idea in my head for a while. The parts involved are...

DSE901 atomizer - my last good one until order comes in.
2 AA battery holder w/ wires.
tactile switch from defunct $1 laser pointer.
3.6v lithium ion battery taken from a Panasonic electric shaver that I don't really care for - I bought the shaver with my employee discount, and it will still work so no loss.

I couldn't wait any longer for my new AA (or 14500) batteries and charger from dealextreme.com so I took the battery out of that shaver. The good news is I can still reinsert the battery, because it was not soldered or otherwise permanently installed in the shaver. I can charge it when neccesary, and it only takes one hour to charge. I am assuming it is 750mah, since most other batteries of similar size are, mine doesn't indicate capacity. I had to hard-wire the atomizer in there as I have no dead DSE901 batts to sacrifice. It was just a matter of adding a jumper wire in place of the 2nd battery, and soldering the red and black wires that came on the battery box through the switch and to the atomizer, and pack the switch and atomizer in hot glue to keep 'em steady. Vapes GREAT. It's nice and compact, very light, the switch takes a little more effort to push versus other switches I have used, so there is less risk of it activating whilst in my pocket. I think this is my favroite mod yet. I'm dying to try this out with an M401 atomizer, but they're a little too small to hard-wire in like this, so Version 2 will come about once one of my M401 batteries die, or I get a dead one from a gracious Forum member, (hint hint, I will PAY for dead M401 and DSE901 batts) so I can affix the battery connector through a hole the box, epoxy it in place, and be able to swap atomizers without the soldering iron.

This is a very easy mod, ordering the batteries and charger is simple. The switch is very common, and I have no shortage of solder and tools so, anyone who is soldering iron challenged, and who may be interested in a similar mod, drop me a line. I could make them to order, penstyle, DSE901/RN4075, supermini, M401, etc. all I'd need is a battery to sacrifice for it's connector, and you'd be able to swap out atomizers just like on your own e-cig

Sorry if the pics are fuzzy, I just can't seem to focus this camera on close-ups. I got it second-hand with no instructions

EDIT: I should note, that the battery holder DOES have a cover on both sides. It's not normally open like in the third pic. Just wanted to show all of you the guts.

This is a very impressive-looking mod. Great stuff!

How much user time do you think you'll get from a charge?

Nice work!

Nice Job on the mod. I'm looking into something like this but instead of the switch part I'm going to mount a manual switch from a kissbox to the battery box and screw atomizers to that, this way the internals will be a simple solder from battery to kb switch and done. I love the changeable battery design. Keep on modifying.

Where did you get the battery box you are using?

Yes youfillintheblank you did a great job on yours and they are a little similar, But u can see the differences. Please No offense I hope, we are all modding here.

Just an FYI I started these a several weeks ago and some Flashlight Mods. My Flashlights are to Heavy & Bulky Due to it being a flashlight, even the plastic ones.

My Mini-E-Sticks are Slim, Light & Small!

I am Still Up & Running! 8 Hours Now, The LED is Getting A Little Dim But Still Vaping. So I guess I Can Use My LED Set Up as A Battery Indicator besides a Flashlight LOL!

I through another Charged battery in, Back to Full Blast Now!

Yes this is Tiny, I may Make it a little Shorter.

I Think Next weekend I Might Mod An AA Box Set Up and Use an 801, But The 801 Atomizer is Huge!

Made another one using the Yeti, It Works to!!!

Lets Keep Pumping Them Out. I Can Say Made In USA!!!!!!

No, no offense at all! You really get 8 hours on a AAA battery? Mine w/ AA does about the same, I must smoke it more than you. I tend to charge mine often to get maximum voltage. But it'll get me through a work day easily.

I found some DSE901 sets on ebay.com for $19. People seem to be happy with that seller, so I'm giving it a try. Some sites charge that much for one battery! So I'd call that cheap.

Yes Its Ok to work with what you have or buy cheap stuff to make & test your mod.

I think You have to decide if you like what you modded, once your happy with it upgrade the components to better atomizers or better batteries & chargers for it.

Also before finalizing go over all the electrical, solder connections, and other parts / case to be sure its ok. You don't want to go out and show it off and have it go poof on you. LOL!!!

If your mod is iffy, dismantle it & start over, take some time & think what may work well & look cool as well (ya use the cheap stuff to start it).

There is no sense in building something expensive (parts wise) until you start from the bottom up: Build & test it, upgrade it & test & fix, test & test, upgrade, double check it, test & test!!! You don't want to be called a Joye Tech Manufacturer Do U?
LOL!!!!
Yes I am Vaping heavy, but I keep alternating between about 5 different units during the so as not to overheat the atomizers. Constant heat will kill the atomizers faster.

KEEP BUILDING!!!!!!!

Don't want to hijack this thread but is that from the seller in China with $10.00 shipping? I've been tempted to order one someday. The feedback sure looks good. I'll be interested to see how quickly your order gets here.

Forgot to say ..... real nice mod btw. I gotta make me something like this soon.

You guys are creative!!

I made my own AC powered one using a combination of a PS USB and the purple flashlight. Since I sit at my desk all day, I never run out of power and I'm using 5VDC @ 2.5A. Never burned an atomizer and vaping all the time. Hasn't ever quit and it's been about 3-4 weeks. For me, batteries are just a hassle. (until I actually have to go somewhere)8-o

I think the best designs are the ones that bypass that stupid "suction switch" and replace it with a push button. This is what makes the whole thing rock!

It's also nice that you guys are thinking about shapes and sizes that don't resemble a cig. Besides, who said it had to look like a cig? Shoot, I don't care if it looks like an old style telephone or a mini tape recorder as long as it vapes all day! :D

Keep modding! And good job you two!
