if you wanna know all the gory details, check out the blog (link in sig), i've been writing about it ad nauseum. but long story short, today's test day.

did my control, and got the predicted 0 reading.

did my first test, and... apparently maxed it out. it's not the clearest reading, but i'm testing twice more today (4 pm and midnight), at least. i'll have one additional test strip.

Belle, read the blog and I have a few questions. It would be helpful to know when you last vaped in relation to when you took the test. Also, is the the saliva test or the urine test? What mg cartos are you using and how many do you go through in a day?
This should help answer your questions :)
Tomorrow is Test Day! VapewithPuff.com

Belletrist, great work....I don't watch the blogs much, but you sound very dedicated, curious, and sharing, that's great!
You're going to keep maxing out those tests as long as you vape 24mg or above...even if just once in awhile.
I've used both tests (Nymox) saliva and urine. They're expensive but I needed to know too.
I cut my juice down to 18mg/ml, and didn't test for a couple weeks to make sure, but it still was high, in the 600ng/ml, but still WAAAAY below that of smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day!!.

When I went to 12mg/ml I tested in the low 100-200ng/ml Check this thread, and please post if you would to bring it forward again if we can.
Many people were testing before the Thread got buried.
Please post to it, see if more interest can be garnered again. There are many links throughout the thread and there is a tremendous amount of reasearch involved there that really needs recycling for our newer members.

Well, no mind, at least we know you have stopped all other chemical- soup/carcinogen/coffin-nail tobacco use!!! Really, take heart with that, that's a true Victory we all share.
And I'll give everyone another News-Flash: nicotine density in juice is very very easy for most to drop down, with most of the time NO further withdrawal symptoms...
I went from 24mg juice to 18mg, then to 12mg, with no effect whatsoever. Many people have gone to 0 Nik, but still vape heavily. So, is it really the nicotine?
As stated, my test result didn't register lower until I went down to 18mg and then 12 mg juice, above 18 always maxed mine out too.
Also, look at your test strip in bright light very carefully: sometimes the bars are very very pale red but that a still an indicator. As you can see in the pic below, six bar is bright red, but the two below are very much paler, but the first bar visible is your indicator, mine was a four. My last test was a Three!!!

well, i think enough studies have shown that nic is addictive... but i think, also, that there has been some work done that suggests the tobacco companies were turbocharging the addictive effects of the nicotine.

i'm actually thinking of trying to step down the nic. i'm not too concerned about it in terms of health, but it'd be cheaper... and give me an excuse to do another test.

Tests actually seem to indicate that certain substances added to tobacco actually makes nicotine act like free-base at an extremely high level....
but, like I said, I had no withdrawal effects whatsoever when I finally got brave enough to make a cut. I've done it twice, was the easiest thing ever. So went from 24mg to 12 no pain!

I started at 36, quickly moved to 24, then 18 and now mostly 12 and flirting with 9mg. It's been so very easy to step it down, for me at least. Next step is to start vaping no nic at night and see what happens, probably in the next week or so. Good luck to all who are reducing the nic levels, my goal is to say good-bye to nicotine completely. I've been addicted since I was 14 years old! That's a loooong time for me. I may continue to vape forever, though, i really like doing it.

Aww, Belletrist you look so sad, don't worry, this is not a BAD thing at all! You're not sucking tar, hey.
What a cute picture! Yes, that looks like a definite 6. That's still under 1000ng/ml, a pack of cigarettes a day is waaaaaay more that that! If you wanted you could try smoking yourself silly for a couple days and testing again, but I wouldn't do it. NO way. This is better.
It's just simply that these tests are a little bit limiting, but they're the only ones available as far as I know. Maybe they'll come up with something a little more comprehensive, they've certainly made a lot of money from us Vaporers in the last few months. I think they owe us!
Give yourself some more time, you've pretty much got this not smoking thing licked. I vaped like a steam engine for about 6 months, I just loved it so. But you do eventually get a grip. Keep the faith.
