Thanks to the original copper and the foglog threads for helping me with this one. I really love the eGo cone concept (something about the air flow and semi insulated atty just makes a great vape for me) but wanted MORE POWER! Take one dead eGo batt atty head unit and instructions from threads on this form...viola! I added a mod'd 306LR with drip tip to make it complete. CLOUDS OF VAPOR all day with an 18650 pumping the power.

Thanks to all the originals for posting.

Well getting anything to stick well is and hold up to handling is tough. Most brass polishes have acid in them that has to be neutralized.

The last time I just used steel wool and washed it off, then sprayed on a few coats of lacquer. Eventually the lacquer would start to just flake off. I'm sure it would be fine if just sat on a table.

They sell specific pproducts but they are quite expensive.

The green hands happen when it's polished, once it settles in the green stops.

No more green hands now, nicely 'settled'. :)

You can kinda see the juice well if you look hard. I set the top cap over a large socket and beat it down with a large punch, making it concave before drilling my hole. Worked out well.

I agree Willy, everyone should have an 18650 with a copper mod. Buffing with fine steel wool takes about 5 seconds every few days keeps it shiny bright and using a good sealed battery connector has led to NO juice leaking on both of my copper mods. Cutting the caps down to 1/4" make it a little less steampunk like.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Hey, whats wrong with steampunk? 2000 grit sandpaper doesn't really remove material and polishes pretty well too. I use it when building but for maintenance, I don't use more than PGA and a tissue to get it clean. There is a home method of making a paste from flour and vinegar, followed by rinsing to get the 'brasso' effect. I haven't actually done that yet either, but I'm using brass. :)

Sorry, actually I like steampunk. Let me re-phrase, a sleeker steampunk.
