My ProVari gives an E2 error message. Why?

I have just purchased a ProVari. I also purchased some LR306 atties (1.5 ohms) from EmpireMods. From what I read on many sources, I should be able to use 3.7 volts on the atty. Everytime I set my ProVari at 3.7 volts to use this atty, it gives an E2 error message. There is member on ECF who uses 4.2 volts on his 1.5 ohm atties with his ProVari and he has no issues.
Is my ProVari malfunctioning?

E2 on Provari means excessive ampere draw. I have a couple of dual coils which refused to run above 3.6volt on my provari, but the rest was fine up to 4.5volt. My point is: To make sure, try to buy 306 LR from other vendor, empiremods sells IKV ones i think. I haven't tried IKV 306 though. I prefer joye 306 LR, haven't got any problem with them.

I'm having the same problem too, I noticed it all depends...on the brand/type of LR atty's.
I tried using 306 atty's at 1.5 and it does not work for me, the error comes up too...if the LR letters are engraved on the bottom of the atty's, I'm not able to use those at all, regardless of the brand, the amount of voltage...even at 3.7v - nothing.
I can't use those atty's with the ProVari, it will not accept them...at all.

Hola :)

I don't know why you would get LR atties to use on a provari you would think your might get SR or HR but some atties do draw more when dry or hot . The resistance seems to go down when they are hot . If you have not done so already you should download the manual for it from http://www.provape.com/provari-variable-voltage-ecig-s/36.htm

My primary purchase from EmpireMod was their Drip Shield and 306 Drip Tip. If they had an atty with a higher resistance, I would have gotten it. But all their 306's are low resistance atties. : (
I hope the other three atties are not like this one.
Thanks for the reply.

Exactly what he said. I get the E2 when I need to add more juice.

The whole point of vv is to use any atty/carto you want adjusting voltage to taste.

But the Provari does have a small downside with its protection. I've found sometimes that I get an E2 when I need to add more ejuice but ymmv.

The provari can be a bit over cautious some of the time but better to have the protection then not have it at all .

I am waiting to take the plunge on the Provari. Maybe for Christmas I can get one for me and one for my wife. What I keep wondering is what is the next big thing beyond Provari.

At the very least, the $200 price tag for the ProVari was great leverage for when I told my wife that I wanted a Jazz pipe for Christmas
