My PT Died ;(

Died yesterday, tried multiple usb ports and carts, switch to batteries for now. I've only had it for lil over a week. This seems to be a recurring theme with me, I've had 2 510 PT's die last month. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I use a usb extension cord.

I'm starting to think there must have been a bad lot of them. There are a lot of threads lately about PT's dying and/or malfunctioning. Search and you'll see it's not limited to any vendor in particular. Makes you wonder.

But the great thing about our vendor is he will stand behind his product and make it right!! Just make a comment about what happened on your next order.

the 510 PT comes with the annoying battery box which complicates things, I've had one essentially explode on me once.

thankfully my VK PT doesn't have a battery box but it still died.

Yea, Steve is great about making it right when things go wrong. But I guess what I was trying to say is that in general there seems to be a lot of people complaining about PT's dying lately. I don't think it's just Vapor4Life's passthroughs.

There are so many different manufacturers making them it's hard to think of anything that would lead to all of them putting out bad PTs at the same time. So, I figure it's more likely to be a coincidence or a case of confirmation bias, than an actual sudden wave of bad PTs.

These things tend to go in cycles, and feed on themselves. One person starts a thread, others spring up, and suddenly it seems like everyone's getting bad ones. PTs are somewhat unreliable in general, and manuals expecially so. Like someone else pointed out in another thread, it's the nature of the chipset on the switch.
