Hi
I own a cherry bomber mod box and I'm really happy with it but I recently put 4 coils in my troll rda and the out side gets really hot, to the point you can't touch it, just imagine a burning rda from inside and out side, nothing else gets hot, happens after 3 cloud chasing hits

What exactly is all that in there? I see four coils that look nothing alike, and kinda all over the place. What mod are you running this on? And, give us more info here. It also looks like some of them are incredibly close to the outside and may contact your topcap causing a short. Sorry if this comes off wrong, I'm willing to offer some help if you give some details, and perhaps clearer photos.

In addition to @daveid777's questions:
  • What is the ohm of that build when you measure it, with the top cap off and with the top cap on.
  • What batteries are you using (brand, mAh)?
Are you using the same gauge wire for all of your coils? The two on the right look to be claptons but the photo is not clear enough to tell.
What mod are you running this on?
He's using a Cherry Bomber, a dual parallel unregulated box mod.

Running what looks like a quad-Clapton build and don't like the heat? Simple solution: Don't run quad-Claptons! ;)

Not trying to take any wind out of your sails, but a build like that is bound to generate a lot of heat. Consider backing off to dual-Clapton coils. Even that is going to get warm, but nowhere near as warm as I'm sure it's getting now. Also, as has already been eluded to, I hope you're being very mindful of things like shorts and the capacity of the batteries you're using. I'll also assume that is well into the sub-ohm range which I personally wouldn't recommend in an unregulated device unless you truly know what you're doing.

So I take off 2 coils?
I really wanted to make clouds

So this is completey wrong? Even if I manage to fix the coils can I use all 4?

I can tell!

I can fog up a room with the right single coil, even more with a standard dual-coil setup. Bump up the wattage and dual-Claptons can be competition-worthy.

I would take a step back and reevaluate what you're doing, because the coils in that picture really are all over the place. Read up on coil spacing and different ways to build them correctly. There are a ton of videos available on Youtube to show you the right way to do things. Go back to basics before you worry about any quad-coil builds. This hobby can get dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

Put the Cherry Bomber aside for now. Without a good knowledge of battery safety, Ohm's Law, amp draw (and an ohm reader) you are an accident waiting to happen.

If you want "big clouds" get yourself a high wattage regulated mod (like the RX200) and learn how to build.

My first bit of advice regarding rebuilding is to master the basics before attempting advanced builds.

Start by building safe, simple, single strand, single coil builds. Don't attempt anything under an ohm until you can make beautiful, simple single strand, single coil builds that glow with the beauty of 10,000 rising suns. Rinse. Repeat.

Your coils are crude my friend, and I'm not trying to be a butthole. Anyone looking at them with knowledge and experience took one look at your pics and understood there could well be a myriad of problems causing you grief, and maybe beyond just cruddy coils.

Study, read, learn, watch YouTube tutorials and ask questions. You've got to walk before you can run. Concentrate on good, safe, and simple builds. Develop mastery of these before you even attempt more complex builds.

Or...

I's postin' in a troll thread.

Clouds don't make you look cool!! Why do newbies think that blowing clouds bro is what vaping is all about? Just enjoy vaping instead of smoking cigarettes & thinking it's all about the stupid clouds!!

I hate to be a turd in the punch bowl, but those coils are wild. You want nice, tight, uniform coils. As it was pointed out earlier, you'll want to switch to a regulated mod. It can make a huge difference in heat, plus a smaller chance of blowing your face off. Claptons are great, but you could even try twisting, it's a step below Clapton, but it will make a huge difference in heat. If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been vaping and how long have you been building?

I recommend you watch a few tutorials about building coils. You want to try to get them as neat as possible. If you are new, you might be in a little over your head. I've been rebuilding for about 2 years and I still wouldn't build quad claptons. What is the resistance of your build. Like somebody already pointed out, your coils are everywhere. If you put the cap on, does it touch the inside? Send a pick of that. If you need any help, send me a pm. I would also like to suggest that you download steam engine if you haven't already done so. Nobody is trying to come across as a jerk, it is just that if not done correctly, vaping can be very dangerous. If your mod were to short because the coil touches the top cap, it pulls a dangerous amount of power from your battery. If that happens, at best your battery will vent leaving you with severe burns on your hand. At worst, it could voilently vent causing you mod to blow up in your face. Stuff like this gets blasted all over the media and gives vaping even more of a bad name. Politicians are already trying to take this away from us. Not trying to lecture you. We are here to help, but you need to be reasonable and take advise from those who have been doing this for awhile.

I'm open to tips and guidance but when people just simply point out how "noob" I am doesn't really help as they are not correcting me
