Before everyone grabs the pitch forks and torches...

OP, posting what you did will get some kick back possibly negative however...
I understand why you would want clouds, Pipes give off a lot more smoke and a deeper flavor then a cig, I used to be a pipe smoker myself so I can relate to you.
Understanding why the sub ohm crowd does what they do is like trying to understand a whole new universe of alternative thinking. If you were to take and remove the "Think of mod safety", "Think of thermal run away" and "Think of how it will upset others" then you'll just about get it. Don't mis judge my words here there are people that really do need "Big Clouds" to quit and most of the time you'll find that they used a hookah or pipe that did naturally produce more smoke. Again each person's story is different however majority of the sub ohm crowd are doing it to be "Cool" and in truth that isn't so.

The posting is more of a take arms and go to town kind of flavor to it, I understand why your against it but had it more facts in the posting then there would have been sustainable debate points for people to talk on and help maybe exchange information. The fact that sub ohm coils are measured in "hours" is not true as I run a .5 and have been running the same coil for 4 months now. With that being said and now that you know that I sub ohm, but there is the thing is that I have a good reason. My mod will do direct line voltage to its max of 8.4v with a .5 ohm coil, anything lower and I'll end up not using direct line, any higher and I'll cap out before I reach the end limit.

I get that you have what works for you and right on, but post questions and we will answer them if you take up a stance though you'll find few folks are apt to offer advice and quicker to run a negative reply (human nature, got to love it).

Although your response wasn't directed at me, I have to ask....do you really believe that those who vape in public are "showing off their toys"?

The person I was responding to was encouraging the guy he was ragging on to "show off your new toys". I put in quotes because I was quoting someone else's words. Whether or not I think that's what people do is irrelevant, as they weren't my words to begin with.

Sub-ohming and cloud chasing are two completely different things. Many of us began sub-ohming because at the time it was the ONLY way to achieve the watts we wanted. Some of us just love the more efficient nicotine delivery and warmer vape. And personally, I've always enjoyed the sensation I got when filling my lungs with smoke. Low ohm equaled higher wattage equaled a better sensation similar to smoke filling my lungs.

I don't mind blowing a cloud from time to time but I am VERY conscious of where and when I would do it. Personally I shy away from doing it in public and kind of cringe when I see others do it. Not everyone wants to walk through my wall of fog and invading their personal space. It can be off putting to people and turn them away from what we are trying to accomplish.

In short, what you do and what you like is your business. Just be respectful to other people. Outside of that ... to each their own.

Thank you very much for this. I subohm but that's so I can vape at a now days paltry 29 watts and get the vape I enjoy and everywhere I do so I do it respectfully. But it seems a good deal of people assume (and you know what they say about that) once you cross the 1.0 mark your a cloud blowing drain on society making all vapers look bad.

That's because you're not Windexrunner, and that's the point.
I'm an extrovert, so I do pay attention to what others around me are using. From the car you drive, to the socks you have on, I'll notice.

I remember being like McGill and wanted a hot vape, but decided that might not be in my best interest.
I remember wanting the huge cloud, but decided that wasn't in my wallets best interest.

Everyone needs to find what they like for their own reasons. I can only say what I like, and what my reasons are.
Personally I would much rather get 3 hits/drop than use up 3 drops of liquid/hit. Have a battery last all day instead of a couple of hours.
I refuse to use ICR or LIPO batteries. Use a 10 cent wick & coil instead of a $5 replacement head. DIY my liquids at 6 cents/ml instead of buying my liquids at 60+ cents/ml.
So what it boils down to is that I took the time to LEARN HOW to get the vape I want with a 2 ohm coil at 2 amps instead of a 0.2 ohm coil at 20 amps .

And I the same except...

My stats are drastically different as is my comfort level which...

I think solidifies your point I strongly agree with...

As does the fact I support several other people who's stats are near exact opposites of mine.

Sent from my device.

+1 on this ^^^^ !!

I personally feel that worrying about what others think of you is the very height of vanity... trust me, no one is thinking of anything but themselves and their own stuff. Not only do they not care what that odd thing you're holding to your mouth is, they probably don't even notice, they're so wrapped in their own mind. You'd have to be out there vaping stark naked singing God Bless America at the top of your voice for them to even be aware of your existence.

For the most part Andria, but I really wish the folks that don't do this, did this :)

Hmmm... I seem to be experiencing that phenomenon called the brain fart... I can't for the life of me puzzle out your meaning. Text is so limited in expression, it can be a real challenge sometimes.

In any case... I really wish more people *would* notice the vaping; I neither hide it nor do it in places that I deem to be either inappropriate or unwelcome, or both. I've occasionally asked 'do you mind...?' and no one ever does. Maybe it's a southern thing. Strangers might occasionally say a word or two to one another, hi, hello, or whatever is appropriate to the situation, but people don't do that 'getting in your face' thing, pretty much no matter what you do -- unless you actually do something to active piss them off (run into them in traffic, etc), then yeah, they might, but otherwise, not really. Someone with blue or green hair would probably get stared at a lot, but that's about it. But I'm starting to run into more and more vapers "in the wild," so maybe people are just over it already -- all except the ANTZ of course. They're not too popular around here, because until recently, smoking was (and still is to some extent) very popular in the south.

Read it again just now and I agree my statement was a bit confusing :)

To paraphrase, you said more or less that most people mind their own business. I said more or less that I wish everyone did.

Now, if I would have said it that way in the first place it would have been much clearer

We are pretty relaxed up here too however smoking is considered a negative thing by most people. I wish more people would notice the good side of vaping rather than the bad, but I think that's coming. It takes time to educate the public and after that you still have to convince politicians that it's in their best interests to change policies.

I have never done any sub ohm builds in the several years I have been vaping, but now that I have my first regulated device and an RDA on the way I will be checking sub ohms out. If I like it great, if not i will stick with Kayfuns and 1.4 ohms.

I do remember that I did like to drip a bit back in the day when all we had was the pre-built atomizers in cartos. Things sure have changed. 20 or 30 drops in an atomizer! WOW!

I do recall that some mainstream vapers thought it a bit odd how some folks just kept pushing the envelope with vaping. And look where we are now.

I might give it a whirl just to see what it's like, when I get my Magma clone Mon or Tues. I'm pretty sure it would overwhelm my asthma, but that's what inhalers are for, right? :D But I hate churning thru batteries, and I'm not even sure that my current batteries would support it -- I was planning on getting a couple of higher-amp 18490s, some AWs from sweet-vapes, to use with it anyway, on my Fallen Angel. I'm sure my usual coil will be around 1.5-ish ohms but it never hurts to have more than you need.

Now I'm entering the "antsy" phase of awaiting vapemail -- it's Saturday night, so no mail at all tomorrow, so will it get here Monday or Tuesday? I've just ordered a bunch of stuff, yesterday, so I'm going to be on pins and needles for a WHILE. :D

Minding one's business is both polite and self-protective; the area I live in is a medium-sized town about 25 miles from Atlanta -- it's part of the 9 county sprawl called Metro Atlanta, which occupies an enormous area of north Georgia - and it's just FULL of people, and roads, and every possible thing you can imagine -- there are just so many people, that minding one's business is necessary just to go about one's business! Much like NYC I imagine, though they are stacked vertically rather than sprawling for a 100-mile diameter circle. I'd like to think that Atlantans wouldn't walk past a mugging-in-progress without reaction, as New Yorkers are reputed to do, but honestly I don't know if they would or not. And there are crazy people and angry people everywhere, and some of them have guns -- really best to always mind one's business in a world like that. I think I've finally reasoned my husband out of flipping off everyone on the road who annoys him, just because of the crazy/angry/gun factors, but he's still way too prone to it. :D

People give it lip service here, yeah it's bad, blah blah, hey, got a light? :D I'd say that, still, at least 2 out of every 5 cars that passes us on the road, contains at least one smoker. But today, getting gas at Walmart, on one of the gas pumps there was a big sign overhead, about Walmart's vaping products, which claimed to provide "twice the vapor!" I KNOW that was a crock, but just having the sign at the Walmart gas station... that's progress! :D

I'ma 2ohm 4 volt vaper from days gone bye and the days have gone bye.
Grabbed my first sub ohm device yesterday. The ego one tank kit with 0.5ohm coil.
20 bucks well spent imo.
At 4 volts it's the best vape ever. I don't get out much I know but with a 25r battery
it'll go all day for me.

My vaping has turned the corner forever, couldn't go back now if I wanted.
It's so much better and no muss or fuss, just the way I like it.
Definitely glad I gave joyetech another chance.
Each to their own.
