Alright I started going through the pages of this thread to see if this had been suggested yet but I could have been reading all night. So sorry in advance if someone already posted this....
I've been just using some yarn with a slip knot in it. Any sort of string would work. Slip knot in the end. Works very well and when tightened on the condom doesn't go flying anywhere :)

I've tried them all and here is what works best for me. I smoke a cart until I figure it's about half done, then drop a few drops of juice into the battery end. (Take a tiny wad of paper towelling, stuff down into threads to soak up any extra). This extends the life of the cart. Do this every so often, the cart lasts an extra day or so. When a cart is empty, I throw it in a pile for later use. Carts from this pile,I test for burnt taste, and if it is good I put 8 drops in the battery end and then put 8 to 10 in the mouthpiece end. This seems to fix air issues, eliminates a ton of ancillary hardware (syringe, eyedropper, spinning paraphenalia, etc...) and provides a pretty good smoke.
The key to refilling, no matter what method you use is: Don't smoke the cart dry!! If you do, it will taste burnt. Took me a long time and a lot of wasted carts to figure that one out.
When I get some blue foam (for my 801 and kr808), I'm going to try a VK cart mod using it.

Occasionally I will just top off instead of full refilling but I find it time consuming. One of the main reasons I went with cartomizers is so I didn't have to fuss with them constantly. I take a couple short minutes in the evening to fully refill the two I vaped during the day so I can just grab my choice from the bowl in the morning and vape all day long.

It's all about individual preference really, nothing wrong with doing what keeps you off cigs and smilin!

syringe and spin, it seems to be the best way I have found for refilling, and ya dont smoke them till there burnt when 3/4 done refill, also washing them out under hot water is an exceptional way to get a taste when refilling that is like a new cart

Why do you need to spin if you're refilling with a syringe. Doesn't that already inject the juice to the bottom of the cartomizer?

You'd think so but for whatever reason it doesn't. Just injecting will still give you gurgling and liquid in your mouth. Spinning probably makes it go toward the outside of the batting as opposed to the middle where the atomizer is and also makes it more uniform. then as time passes, it settles. Not sure, but makes sense logically.

I find leaving the cap and rubber removed from the cart and just periodically refilling it slightly to be so much easier (and less time consuming) and it gives a more honest hit and vapor production, especially when driving. I usually only vape when I drive now, I think its because I hate driving. So its awesome I can tell right away if the cart looks dry, put a couple drops during a stop light then I'm ready to go again, just be sure to not overfill or you will most defiantly have some in your mouth.

I'm getting to the point that I can do it with one hand haha.

new, i might have to try that -- just keep topping off after a bit instead of waiting until it's DRY dry.. because my last round of refills (about 4 carts) none of them are doing well. either not lasting more than half a day (when normally i can get a full day plus change) or else they just... taste funny.

this blueberry i'm vaping that i syringe filled, though, is working okay. but i get nervous not being able to 'see' what i'm doing, or not wiping off that stopper ring, etc, or fixing batting like you can do when you remove the cap/ring.

ugh, i wish i could find ONE filling technique and be good at it, lol. i can't afford to keep on buying carts when juice is so much more efficient..
