Hi all, just want to start off by saying this is a great forum and there's lots of very helpful people on here that I've been taking tips from, watching and reading reviews from many of you. Having the forum makes it so much easier to get going with this "new" technology and has already prevented me from wasting money. ;)

After doing some research I finally decided on one, and ordered the DSE901b w/Blue LED starter kit, 3 atomizers, 10 "blanks" and some Vanilla liquid from Steve at Puresmoker.com. I also ordered 2 bottles of liquid from Janty. RY4 and French Pipe. Shipping was super fast, and they even threw in some freebie carts for me to try. The 901 worked like a champ straight out of the box! The vapor is very good and fairly consistent save for the occasional low battery. I'm going thru 2 to 3 charges a day on the battery, not sure how long they are really supposed to last but I'll definitely be ordering a few more batteries and another charger (probably just get another starter kit, it's cheaper) to ensure I have plenty of charged up batteries on standby. All of the flavors are good, but my favorite by a long shot is the Janty French Pipe. It tastes/smells just like French Vanilla coffee. It has a really sweet aroma, and hits the spot. I've only been using the 901 for a few days, so I can't comment on how long everything will last, but I'm taking care of my parts by making sure not to overheat the atomizer, keeping carts near full, and when dripping (I've only done it twice) only using 2 drops for now so it doesn't flood and clog the atomizer. I haven't broken it yet and I've been smoking the hell out of it since it is now my 100% replacement for real cigarettes. I haven't smoked once since I got it, so I know it's doing something right. I also use snus on occasion so my tolerance for nicotine is pretty high, I may try the 36MG nicotine juice but I have to find French Pipe flavor in 36MG, and I don't know if anyone makes it. Overall... Puresmoker.com rocks, and the 901 is doing its job quite nicely for me! I think this is something I will stick with for quite some time.

I'm an e-cig noob and I don't know what I'm doing yet but that's my 2 cents!

Check out:

Aka: Pillbox38 on here. Good reviews.

Recommend a 2nd starter kit for sure. Makes battery charging easier and the risk of going back to real smokes less likely. + cheaper.

Good luck.:)

First I am a non-smoker I began puffing smoking away

,It taste like cooked honey.

it is true DSE901 gives out lot's of smoke! just like a normal tobacco cigarette.

I felt no hit.. but 2 minutes later I felt kinda dizzy.

I was looking at the LED facing my mirror.. 10 minutes later it creep 'ed up to me I felt sweaty, muscle spasm..

Hmm.. Its working! taste is nice! however 11 mg is way to much! Why dont they have 6mg or 4,.

I went straight in with 18mg and while being very satisfying still is not quite enough but then again I am a 20 a day red Marlboro man. I may look at some 36mg soon. Horses for courses mate.

1 week into using the 901 :

1 Battery had a bad switch and was impossible to use
1 Battery is on the blink after only 1 week of use
1 of my extra atomizers was defective (which Steve replaced, no fuss)

I ordered a kissbox classic. I have nothing against the supplier, but I need a better product than the 901. As you can tell by my initial review - I took proper care of everything. The one question I had was will it be reliable...the answer is no! I'm almost certain I got a bad example of the 901, so many of you may not have these issues... but I'd rather not chance it again. 20 bucks here, 30 bucks there all adds up and personally I'd rather have the replacements covered by the manufacturer.

Hey Bastage,

It does sound like you may have gotten a bad apple, however (and this is not necessarily directed at you), new esmokers tend to abuse them before finishing up the learning curve.

If you are smoking the 901 non stop all day, everyday, no way 2 batteries are gonna last you. Smoking non stop, a 901 battery *may* get about 3 hours, however, even that's pushing it. I take 4-5 batteries with me on a 10+hour workday with 2 ready to go when I get home.

You gotta remember, these parts aren't built to be indestructible.

On that note, when I get home this evening, I will go ahead and put 2 new batteries and a new atomizer in the mail for you this evening.

EDIT: P.S. -- I should add, dripping on a 901 is not the smartest of things to do. Whether you think you know how to or not, it can destroy perfectly good atomizers, and leak/flood into the battery compartment and short it. I only recommend dripping on pens/cigars/pipes. 901's and Supermini's (although supermini's seem to do better than 901's) tend to have issues when dripped too often. Too much liquid is not the answer. Just moistening up a cartridge until it looks nice and full without a puddle sitting on top is the best. Best vapor, no extra gurgling sounds from too much liquid, etc... just my $.02 cents

Once again... excellent service from Steve. The service is so damn good at puresmoker I hate to even say anything negative about my experience with the stuff. I was trying to be careful ... but as you said any new user is prone to doing things that could affect the life of the parts, and I won't just assume I did everything right because after all I'm a noob at it. I'll definitely take your advice about refilling carts only and not dripping in the 901. I definitely appreciate you going out of your way to help make things right. I might not be happy with this initial run of parts, but I will definitely say that puresmoker.com is awesome and a pleasure to do business with. I'll give the 2 replacement batteries a shot.

BTW- Are you going to restock 24 and 36mg liquid on your site? If you do I'll order some, just let me know! I just checked the site again and didn't see any.

Standard Liquid for Marlboro and Menthol 24/36mg came in today!

My premium CaSH liquid will be in mid next week with 24/36mg in that as well.

No problem getting parts out to you bud. I hate seeing new esmokers stuck in a rut! It really leaves a bad taste in their mouths and I would hate to see people jump back on the tobacco cig wagon.

BTW - I plan on taking pictures on correct topping off methods so you know how to do it just right.

Hi Cash,

So you don't recommend dripping the 901's? I didn't know the 901's performed any differently dripped than the pen-styles (I just started trying dripping in the past couple of days, and it does seem to produce more vapour).

Have others had the same experience with the 901's and dripping?

From personal experience ...

If you drip with half dead batteries ... not a good idea. Reason being, when you don't have full power, not all the liquid is vaporized thus resulting in quicker clogging ...

If you are using fresh batteries or have an alternate power source (Like Madog's flashlight, Bastage's USB, etc...) and have full power 24/7, then dripping is AMAZING!

Bastage built me a USB 901 and I only drip with it. :thumb:
