My University is Banning Vaporizers EVERYWHERE!

I just found out today that the university I attend is instituting a campus-wide "tobacco ban" that includes smokeless tobacco and "electronic cigarettes." This means all these products are banned on all property owned by the university including parking lots, parks, fields, woods, etc. ...?

I can see banning vaping indoors, because it could be distracting and create some odors. But, even banning smoking outdoors makes little sense. Banning vaping and smokeless tobacco outdoors makes zero sense.

I was reading one article where the main premise was that these bans are not in any way warranted by the health evidence, instead they are an attempt to denormalize smoking. They don't want non smokers to see a crowd of smokers interacting and socializing, they want to try to make it surprising to see someone partaking of tobacco products. Either live with it or take yourself (and your money) elsewhere.

That is why all schools should have much stricter dress codes for the females, right? Most are aware that those short skirts, shorts, low cut and tank tops etc. which expose all that lovely skin is why there are so many attacks / rapes , date rapes etc. om campus. Anyone who dress like that ...............................

Big Pharma and Tobacco want ecigs banned it is as simple as that. They were slow to reconize the threat are losing way to much money to those who cater to us.

This is a swift and political reaction to the growing use and awareness of e-cigs and vaporizers. Once the major mass media gets wind of something, it starts bringing the wrong kind of attention to things and vaporizers are no exception apparently. :(

It really makes no sense. And, AFAIK, the inside of one's vehicle in many states is considered one's personal domain in legal terms - therefore there may be some grounds there to challenge the policy.
