I think it's disgusting. You have made a choice of harm reduction, and you are being forced to breathe in second hand carcinogens. It is a violation of your human rights, and I personally would ask around about getting one of the smoking shelters designated as a vaping only area. You're on thin ground if there aren't many other vapers to back you up though, but it can't hurt to try. You're on their property so you're stuck with their ignorant rules, I'm afraid

Unfortunately there are 2 of us I believe on campus, myself being the only one that lives there also

In my experience, it's all too easy when stealth-vaping to forget and blow a massive cloud now and again. That could get you in trouble and escalate the prohibition further.

I'd knuckle under with the security guards, who are only doing as they have been instructed, but take the issue to higher authority with evidence. For example:

"Current state of knowledge about chemistry of liquids and aerosols associated with electronic cigarettes indicates that there is no evidence that vaping produces inhalable exposures to contaminants of the aerosol that would warrant health concerns by the standards that are used to ensure safety of workplaces."
-- Systematic review of what the chemistry of contaminants in electronic cigarettes tells us about health risks
-- Igor Burstyn Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Public
Health, Drexel University,

You should be able to argue that, while you are not endangering others by vaping, the university is endangering you by forcing you to inhale second-hand smoke.

ETA: Try contacting the Students Union. They might be able to give you support with a crusade; they like that sort of thing ;-)

Good luck.

My work has a no vaping on the property policy, just like cigarettes. That includes in your car if it's parked in their lot. I think thats crap so I vape in the restroom. You could try that, just don't blow giant clouds obviously.

Aye, when I'm in my room it isn't an issue, however as I live on site, popping to the toilet every time I want to vape :/ I imagine it'll become tedious very quickly.

Thank you I'll try to discuss this with the university and keep you updated
