Still kinda sucks if it means it forces you outside to vape, but at least you know there's no actual combustion going on in the atty.

I was forced to look into this recently when, as it turns out, an errant puff as I left my apartment forced the poor folks in my building into the streets. That's info I've otherwise kept to myself to save the embarrassment and ire, but lesson learned.

This is the article that had me facepalm myself. Quick read: Ionization vs photoelectric

Just ordered the clone from AC, won't be in stock until 06/15 but for $14 each (ordered 2) shipped from US I can wait a little. Seems up to the challenge of knocking my Baal RDA out of the daily driver rotation.

2 post design - check
Massive airflow when wide open - check
No silly logo - check
Huge juice well - check

just got mine in today....a tobeco clone....
first off..it didnt have the groove in the bottom cap to snap to the base
second...the supplied allen wrench was not the right size. so make sure yours is before you strip the grub screw.
i put a .16 dual coil 26nich/34kanthal fused clapton. the post design is nice, but not as much room for lg builds as id hoped.
flavor is very good, especially for an atty that puts out alot of clouds.. vapor is very good.....
id say this atty is better than most 22mm atties...i think i like my zephyr buddha's a little more just because i have more room for coils.
if you are the kind of guy that doesnt do alot of crazy builds, youll love the crap out of this atty

Received my Velocity clone from Eciggity last night. I had read about the allen wrench issue with the clone, I checked the mini screwdriver set I have and the 1.5mm hex screwdriver works perfectly.I never use allen keys anyway. Build quality looks great and the o-ring tolerances seem right about where they should be. Can't find anything negative to say about it.

Built a quick nickel coil and I have to say, the design of the posts is brilliant. 26g 14wrap spaced Ni coil (.13Ω) fits very nicely and attached with ease (pic below). The vape though....sorta meh. Without the ability to close off one side of the airflow, the flavor is muted. This RDA really needs to be built using 2 coils. Dual Ni builds are a PITA though, I attempted one but it is just not worth the headache. May give it another go this weekend with 30g Ni.

For the time being, I put a dual .5Ω kanthal build in there and the vape is outstanding. I like a tighter draw so I have the 2 airflow holes just barely open. With them wide open there is a ton of airflow, then if you open the indirect holes, there is just zero resistance.

Highly recommended if you use dual coils, usable with single coils.

Velocity clones showed up today from Angelcigs, seems to be a PEEK insulator (AC rep said it would be on reddit). Soaking right now, I will add pics and maybe a build in a little bit. Both have serial V0207, not that it matters of course. They do not have a weird lip on the top cap like the ones pictured on Fasttech.

According to the Avid Vaper website, the Authentic Velocity uses 18mm x 1mm o ring on the sub cap. I noticed the AC clone had what looks like a 12mm o ring installed. When wide open it seems like there would be play that allows the top cap to spin a little. So I grabbed a spare from my Baal RDA that seems close to 18mm (measured with a cheap plastic fading school ruler). Fits snug and stays put, which I think it should. Question for the Authentic owners... Does yours stay put when you twist it to the desired airflow settings? I am thinking yes.
