n00b to modding seeks help

Hello everyone! I've been stalking the batt mods forum for a month now, have some huge plans in mind now but need some help getting started. I'm planning on using the madvapes vv kit for my first mod but i want dual 18650s with it. My question is where can i find boxes for this project? I'm trying to keep my first one cheap & simple. Size isn't a big issue for me so whatever boxes don't have to be just big enough to cram everything into. I was originally going to use one of the hammond aluminum enclosures but charging became a concern. Any & all help is appreciated!

While a Hammond alu enclosure is indeed superior, you mention cheap and simple. If you reinforce the end with the usb port these are quite form fitting:

Some don't like them for this or that, but it should outlast the electronics.

No matter what box you use charging batteries in series will still be a concern.

I wasn't sure if I could even get usb charging to work with the kit so I abandoned that idea pretty quickly. The hammond enclosure would have to be unscrewed every time I had to change batts so that's what threw that one out the window. I was thinking of making a wood enclosure but I want to do a fancy one for a dna20 build or an OKRt6 build with all the bells & whistles. It is way harder than I had anticipated to find the right enclosure! Guess I better get used to it though.

Spend some time perusing the Modding Forums and you'll see how cheap, little magnets can be used to hold the covers on, for plastic or wood enclosures.

For really cheap, get an Altoids box, this takes care of the closure, lots of room for two 18650's, KISS.

Almost forgot about KISS. Is there room in an altoids box to put a fire button on the side? I never have liked altoids so i'm not familiar with the size. Then i would just put a dual 18650 holder inside & viola.

There's room for a LOT of things inside them! It doesn't even have to be an Altoids box, I have one with "Hangover helper mints" that I had to buy!

Okay, I think I'm getting the details worked out. Random question though, I live close to a fry's, do they carry regulator chips that I could use for this mod? I know I could get resistors, pcbs, pots and such there but what about the chip itself?

Finally got everything i need to start assembling, quick question though. Could someone point me in the direction of a wiring diagram for the madvapes kit with voltage display & master on/off switch? Just want to make sure i'm thinking correctly. Your help is greatly appreciated & i will definitely be posting pics as soon as i get done!

This is Mamu's diagram I butchered for someone.

Same principle, just tap in at the OUTPUTs. A little switch, a cheap one is fine, is a nice option.
