Narrowed it down to 2

I have done a lot of research and think I have found the 2 that you be the best for me to try. Im thinking of the 901 and the 510. I would like one with a automatic battery but since this will be my first e cig, I guess I don't know any better. Cost is an issue as I don't want to to get too deep into this thing and not like it.

I was a smoker of about a pack to pack and a half and quit cold turkey in March. After not smoking for months I now smoke a little when I drink which is a couple of times a week. Well i'm scared I might fall off that wagon when football seasons start, and I think the best thing is to get an e cig.

Any opinions would be great.

Thanks

The 901's tend to run just a bit cooler than the 510's.
Anyone who has played with 5-6 volts knows first hand that the flavor leaves as the heat increases.

Otherwise both are excellent work horses and it's just a matter of preference. You cannot go wrong with either.

Myself, I am a die-hard 901 fan run at 4.0 to 4.2 volts off the 18650 tanker. 2 full days (min) of vaping pleasure. You can push them to 4-5 days, but the voltage drops, and you get less vapor accordingly.

So hotter is better? Which flavors do you all prefer and where is the best place to get a few cheap bottles or e juice so I can try a few?

Everyone has different tastes, so asking people their preferred flavors is not really all that effective.

But I think it might be fair to say that RY4 is the most popular flavor.
Of course, you may not like it at all.
:)

As for a few cheap bottles of juice, you are wanting a sampler pack.
Not sure who is currently offering good samplers, because the offers change.

I've had good luck with myfreedomsmokes and ecigsmokestore though.

As far as hotter being better, I guess that depends on what you want.
I think, but can not say for sure, that hotter generally equals more vapor and better throat hit.
But I think it might also equal less flavor.

Thanks I was looking for a standby for my 510 just in case. I really want to try another device simply because 'If this is this good, can't imagine something better'; :p

For samples, ruyan direct just came out with their 10 ml samples for 3.50. Very good price and a good way to try out all the flavors or a handful if you prefer. I ordered 8 just to see if I could tell the differences and which suited me best.

Ruyan doesn;t have the fruity flavors (Cherry tastes very cherry but tobacco-like too) that you may find at other places and surprisingly for me I found I liked the really strong tobacco tastes. Turkish, Flue Cured, Hilton, RY4.. lol being a girl I thought the candy flavors that I had ordered from other places would appeal more....lol.

You will regret it if you get an auto switch battery instead of manual batteries. The 901 now has a manual switch battery option.

I agree that Ruyan Direct is one of the best options for reliability, service and good price. I think their KENT flavor is the smoothest, best tobacco flavor I have tried out of the 6 I have used. And as mentioned before, RY4. I would also suggest getting a little higher mg such as 24 because you can always make it weaker, but you can't make it stronger.

I have been vaping for 1 year. I have 510 manual and auto batts. Call me crazy but I love auto batts. Just be careful not to flood the auto batt with juice. I even have an auto pass through (M401) and I love it. I am just to dang lazy to push the button.

Well if they both have manual and auto batteries for them I could see which one like best. I will probably try the 510 first and see what it is like. The cheapest I have found them were at Healthcabin the only thing is I can't seem to find it in black.

actually on the manual vs auto subject

when im at work or on the pc gaming i need automatic because you must have a free hand to activate your manual... however when i can my 510 is so much better with the manual so I like to have both...

I have never used my 901 with manual, however my 118/vx2 is comparable and I really dont like its manual battery. not sure but i think it gets to hot too fast because the hit softens and i taste the filler. the autos dont do this to me...

i do like the 901 a hair better than the 118 tho... def more flavor

also surprisingly my M801 hits flavor and hit very well, and the auto battery on it hits just as long as i can drag it...

hope this helped, just my opinion

I'm an auto battery fan too. I've been watching as more models have introduced manuals and what I see are complaints about them not lasting as long and quicker dropoffs, so I'm still wary.

Also my [multiple] manual passthroughs have proved dangerous. My auto passthroughs could be frustrating with sticky switches, but at least they never stayed on by themselves and burned anyone.
