Is there a good way to get that nasty taste to go away faster. I finally had an atty die on me and the new one is horrible. I blew it out and tried loaded it up with a few drops, vaped without inhaling until there was no vapor, still horrible. Repeat, repeat, repeat, etc. It's been two days and I am still getting that taste.

I don't think rinsing them out kills them. The biggest culprit is letting them get too dry.

I rinse out my attys once a week or so just to get the gunk out and improve the taste.

I prefer BE510s because they hardly have any primer fluid in them when they're new. Maybe give those a shot.

I've really only had this problem with Joye 510s. It does take a while to get the flavor of the primer out sometimes.

You should just rinse it out with water. IMO when you just try to vape the primer away it still leaves the residue behind and keeps that crappy taste around longer.

Sometimes I'll vape a strong flavor like cigar, then switch to something more mild and everyonce in a while, even a week later I'll get a cigar taste when the atty gets low on juice. I'd guess the same thing happens with the primer.

You can get a 510 atty seriously wet (with juice) without flooding it - heck even if you flood it it's not gonna muck it up - just blow it again. I find if I dont keep mind wet all the time they attract a little funkiness (its not primer, they are too old for that, idk what it is, old juice probably lol); but agree w/brandon - letting them get overly dry is cause for many issues.

Sounds like what you're doing is drying it out too much. You don't want to get it to the point there's NO vapor. That could be what you're getting instead of a PRIMER taste, a BURNT taste.

You drip a few drops on it and take maybe 2-3 puffs, if it STILL doesn't taste right, you drip 1 more and keep THAT up until it DOES taste right.

You're burning the coil, me thinks.

DO NOT USE KEYBOARD DUSTER TO BLOW OUT YOUR ATTYS, THERE ARE CHEMICALS IN THERE THAT CAN MAKE YOU SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had the proble of a bad taste from a new atty for so long. The only thing that I can suggest is that I once heard that a 50/50 mix of PG and VG dripped in the atty can help remove it.

Good luck.

Don't be afraid of a hot water rinse. Rinse it, blow out the water, dry burn (no need to dry overnight, you have a built in dryer). Just dry burn for 15 seconds, let it cool, repeat a few times. I use a cue tip or curled paper towel to wipe out droplets of water I see on the atty walls too after a dry burn. Works like a charm for getting out primer fluid and to clean the atty.

Don't be surprised, however, if it takes a little while vape time to get full flavor and vapor back, as there will be a little excess water in there and you'll be vaping partially steam.

I do this once a week to my atty and it's lasted a LONG time.

One thing I've tried recently that seems to work pretty well for me is to take a small mouthful (more than a sip, less than a chug!) of vodka, and blow it through the atty, then blow through it with just air until you can't get any more liquid out. Than add about 5 drops of juice. Let it sit for about ten minutes, then vape away.

thanks for all your responses guys. I will give them a shot if the problem isn't fixed. I tried a water rinse this morning, so I will give it a shot once I'm sure it's dry.

I know the taste I was getting was not burnt atty. I know what that tastes like and this is definitely not it. I don't know how to describe the taste other than to say it tastes like I am vaping some seriously nasty medicine.

I got that nasty taste on my atomizer the first few times and didnt know what it was. A friend of mine told me to rinse it out with either everclear (if you have access to it) or really cheap vodka before you use it. He said that is a better idea than rubbing alcohol because it is a consumable alcohol and rubbing alcohol isnt. Anyway, I just rinse it out with vodka and then blow it out with an air compressor and it gets that nasty taste right out.

Probably won't help on this one as your most likely almost there but on any future ones blow it out the best you can then a short soak PGA or isopropyl alcohol should help leach any remaining primer. I use isoproyl, it's cheaper and evaporates fast. Then I blow that out and use glycerin from Walmart or where every you want to get it from to prime it with several puffs without inhaling. If you're still tasting the primer just keep dripping glycerin till it's gone, shouldn't take long, then you're ready to go.
