I just can't get rid of this nasty flavor. It's not a dry hit, it's like metal or something nasty. I've cleaned it several times with super hot water and soap, alcohol, and vaped at least 5 or 6 tanks through. I'm using 28g kanthal, 1.5mm diameter, .6 ohms and clean cotton that tastes great in all my other devices. I wonder if I'm melting the insulator? I'm running it on a stingray and a sigelei box mod and haven't pushed the wattage on it at all. Is anyone else having this issue?

I bought a sonic cleaner for my attys as well. I break them all down and give them a run once a week.

Doesn't contribute much to solving your problem, but I highly recommend you buy one. You won't believe how clean they come out. I swear mine come out looking better than new....if that's possible.

What fluid do you use in the sonic cleaner? I may buy one of these trinkets. Right now I'm just a hot water, Q-tip kind of guy.:vapor:

lol That's exactly how I used to clean mine. The wife would get ticked off for using all of her qtips, cotton balls and alcohol swabs! haha

The one I bought came with some sort of solution, but I don't use it. It almost smells like dishwashing liquid. Supposed to be for general purpose use. I just use warm water when cleaning my gear. Set the timer and 8 minutes later, it comes out looking brand new! Hell I think it looks better than new. I was really surprised at how well it does. My last cleaning, I didn't even bother rinsing things off before I put them in. They were dripping with old juice! lol Came out looking great. Every time I run it, I'm just astonished at how well it cleans them. Highly recommended.

I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. I believe it was $45. Best vape-gear purchase I've made in a long time.

When you're getting a metallic flavor it's not always a dirty atomizer. This is something that a lot of us Genny users used to get.

What you might be experiencing could be a hot leg or a hot spot. Did you fire the coil before wicking it? Make sure it's glowing from the inside out? The legs aren't glowing at all?

This just screams hot leg to me...

Ryuukon, I did test them thoroughly to make sure they had a good even glow starting from the inside, the legs were cut all the way to the post as well. With that being said however I've never been entirely certain what causes a problematic hot leg, but assume if the legs are cut short as possible and the coils themselves are wrapped well and glowing healthy that it's nothing to worry about.

As a side note, wow, this wick went 7 days and countless tank fulls before starting to taste gross! Love it.
