I had a go with 26g 2.5mm think it was 7 wraps though 6 may have been better.
Not sure on the wicking just put some cotton in the spaces.
It went ok.
Just didn't feel as good as the usual horizontal build I do. juice spit up into drip tip, wicking issue perhaps but after getting the usual way good don't want to now fuss around with this way.
Fiddling around and such it probably gets better but usual way I do it is just good.
yea i feel you. the vertical build is hella sensitive when it comes to wicking it. although im liking my semi vertical(slanted) quad coil build much more. it gives me more aitflow than the horizontal build, great flavor, and its was way easy to wick.
I already started a new thread but asking here too. After a tank or so I lose all the flavor with vertical coils. What could be the reason? Tried dry burning and re-wicking but no help. Using 26G, ID 2,4mm, 6-8 wraps and muji. vaping at 50W.

Wick looks ok, wet but not overly so. No dry hits or leaks.
Also I tried a 26G with 2,8mm ID, 7 wraps yesterday and couldn't get any flavor even at the beginning. That may have been due to excess airflow, but not sure.
try going with a slightly smaller ID with a little bit more wick. this will allow for more wick to get around the coil enhancing the surface area for the juice to vape off from.
Damn, it just might be. I made a new batch of juice (chocolate) and a vertical coil (28g twisted, 2mm id) and flavor is good, even after re-filling. Will be trying with different coils, if it was vapers tongue. I'll be back, if the problem still persists. Thanks.
