Got my Magma setup too.. Beast mode, on the Panzer!

I finally have something solid that I can test RBFS juices on. :)

So I cleared up my sinuses, had some steam and a few cough drops. I then set up the Magma with a single 1.5 ohm micro coil, loaded some Orlik - Golden Sliced and was blown away. No pun intended. This thing is amazing in every way, the build, the flavor and especially it's capacity.

Here it is on my VaporShark DNA30.

I love those Magmas! Definitely high on my want list. Unfortunately financial problems abound ATM. Having enough trouble trying to figure out whether to buy more juice or keep trying to diy. I tried it early on and completely sucked at. Became an expert on premade a though lol. Now I'm trying again for several reasons. So far not much happening but slightly better. Feel like I'm wasting a lot and convinced that there are some flavoring vendors being used out there that I cannot seem to find out about..

Do get one when you can. I'm in love, may even get myself another one :vapor:

May?! What is this "may get myself another one", that you make mention of? I know I am definitely going to get another 1 or 2 or 3.. depending on when the next similar or better device comes out. This thing puts the rest of my rda's to shame, and I've only used it for one evening.

Been vaping a couple from EtherVapes; came in Monday and steeped for the suggested time by them. Have to say I am enjoying the two opened first. Very smooth vapes.

The first is Midnite Lite. I can't seem to put it down tonight because it's just tasty as all heck. It has a slightly earthy? taste to it (almost musty, like what the forest smells like in the morning if that makes any sense to anyone) with a light chocolate taste on the exhale. I don't taste the honey or vanilla yet; has only been steeping for three days. Also, that's quite okay with me not to taste the honey as it has never been a taste that I like to vape. Also, I like the way this one makes my office smell on the exhale. Think that is called room note (not sure bout the lingo yet, just hoping to make some sense, lol). I was hesitant to order this one cause the chocolate and honey but am glad I did.

The other one I had last night and this morning was Nomad. I liked this one as well. It has a more of that earthy taste mentioned above but has some other stuff going on I can't quite explain. It kinda reminds me of a cigarette a little. Think that is why I enjoyed it so much this morning with my coffee; brought me back a bit. By the way, that was the first time in about a month that I didn't have a menthol liquid with my morning coffee; didn't even notice till my get up and go got up and went. Nice. Still have four more to try and hope I like them as much as I did these.

The other thing I liked about this company was the customer service. Vash sent me an email to thank me for my order about a half hour after I placed my order. Never had that happen in all my orders with all sorts of different vendors so far and felt kinda like he really meant it. Was a nice touch to say the least.

I enjoy Nomad in a dripper... Really brings out the flavor.

I ordered from NET.com way back in April when I first started vaping. I forgot about the order.

Well it showed up today. Big Spirit hot and cold.

So I fired up the brass monkey dripper at around 1 ohm and 20W. And this is a lovely lovely extract. I don't even know what is in it but I know I could never make a NET this good. Caused me to rethink the whole way I've been doing things. I think until the FDA forces it I'm sticking to store bought NETs, hopefully more from NET.com. And store bought nets (Ether Vapes and RBFS are other favs) mean no more KFL. The KFL clones I've been messing with are just too touchy I waste a ton of juice, but for after dinner dripping I can afford commercial nets. My favorite Net all around is Caven Fever from RBFS, but this random Big Spirit Cold just hits the spot I think its a Virginian and so far I haven't liked any pure viginians (I love Cavendish's.).

I don't know what happened with NET.com but there is something to be said about American resilience.

I have been enjoying Cinire's BCA today. Very mellow and pleasant Cavendish. This would be good with some added Blackberry flavoring. As a matter of fact I think I'll do just that.

No complaints from the peanut gallery, vaping the BCA right now matter of fact found I had to add a little back to the little bottle I diluted down I am enjoying but I wouldn't know "just another black Cav" if it smacked me in the face lol. I think it's pretty great, want to add a little something but I don't want to play with it and potentially ruin it. The RLP I have to go back to. I cant find the little dilute bottle I had it's only a 3ml REO bottle they are very easy to misplace!

How Is EtherVapes in comparison to stronger tobacco types like Ahlusion Flavored Aero's or NET.com?

Yeah, I probably will get another 1. I'm waiting on my Plume Veil clone right now to see how that performs. I also want to do some experiments with KGD and the Magma. Using standard cotton I'm noticing that the coil gets gunked pretty fast, ie. around 4-5 refills. My thinking is that since this RDA is unique in that it relies on the cotton to draw the juice instead of just wetting the cotton with juice, this would be KGD's forte.

Whats your experience with your coils getting gunked with macerated NETs?

I revisited the BCA today, I like it better. Flavor is developing nicely. So maybe not so run of the mill, but a nice straight black cavendish.

I can't tell if my 3ml test bottle of clnire's Lane BCA is objectively improving as the steeping unfolds, or if my unconscious is being seduced by boomer's and cl's posts that it is, but I have to agree, it does seem better to me than two days ago when I mixed it. Immediately , I found the tobacco a bit nondescript and overwhelmed by the casings, but the tobacco is beginning to give signs of asserting itself.

This is our shared experience with macerated NETs, right? Steeping gradually brings out and deepens the tobaccos and diminishes or downplays the non-tobacco elements in both extracts and mixed juices. If two days can move the Lane BCP from meh to pleasant, then I'll be even more curious to vape it and RLP-6 after a month.

Of course, not every NET is improved by steeping. Certain NETs are reverse-steepers. For instance, with GeJ Fire-Cured and Ahl BGB, steeping kills the brightness that made the juices taste so amazing when fresh. Other times, the non-tobacco flavors are what give an NET its pop, such as with QnJ ouR whY qu4tro, so flattening out those other flavors is not an improvement. The steeping process produces the same effects as with other NETs, but the results in our enjoyment aren't wonderful.

I compared it to the bulk Black Cavendish I get from P&T. The bulk is a little sweet with a fruity whiff. I'm gonna mix some Red Cavendish in with it and experiment with Blackberry, Rum and/or Maple.

I think it safe to say that all macerated NETs will crust coils and gunk wicks. The only questions are how fast? and how badly?

This seems to be caused by two elements of macerated NETs:

1. Particulates, which are small pieces of solid cellulose that disintegrate from the tobacco into the maceration solvent. Particulates can be minimized by finer filtering.

2. Sugars, which are molecules in the casings/topping and, to a lesser extent, within the tobacco leaf flavinoids themselves. These cannot be removed by ultra-fine filtering without also seriously diminishing flavor. Cigars tend to have less sugars than pipe blends and cig/RYO tobaccos.

Particulates burn and sugars caramelize. Both produce carbon build-up on coils and gunky wicks.

Steam-distilled NETs contain almost no particulate matter and may have lower sugar content as well, so they vaporize more cleanly. They don't taste like macerated NETs, either. For pure tobacco flavor, some people prefer steam-distilled NETs; others prefer macerated NETs.

At least, that's my current understanding.

Bill, I'm finding my cigar extracts getting better the longer I steep them. I have an 120 ml jar filled with cigar juices I didn't vape over the past year. I took a vape from the jar and wow! I got a nice, if just a bit flowery cigar vape. Just goes to show, I'm never gonna get low on liquids. Especially with the liter of 100 mg. Nic I put in the freezer.

Any recommendations to HHV? I don't like sweet.

I see that Dark Horse and Huntsman have already been recommended, but whatever you do, do not walk away from there without Gaia in your order. Gaia is like a amped up version of Dark Horse, so you could skip that one if you're getting Gaia.

If you don't mind some sweet note to the juice, Legend is also pretty darn awesome.

You picked up a liter of MFS on sale, eh? Good for you. I was sorely tempted. Heck, two liters for $100 with free shipping is a darn near unbeatable deal. However, I already have 2 1/2 liters of 100mg/ml nic in the freezer (a liter each of Heartland and RTS, plus half a liter of MFS) and another full liter in the fridge (Heartland and Vaperstek). That ought to be enough for awhile, right? So, I haven't pulled the trigger and remain hopeful that common sense will continue to prevail.

A relatively recent entrant into the world of NETs, the Smug Juice motto is It's That Good.

Are they that good?

If their HUMP offering is any indication, yes they are.

The Two-Tank Test

The test is simple. Take one Aspire Nautilus Mini and vape two tankfuls - about 4ml - through one coil.
Subjectively evaluate the juice for vapor, throat hit, and flavor.
Objectively observe coil life.

Smokie says the standard loadout of Smug Juice is 70VG/30PG. This shows in the initial shake of the bottle. The very small bubbles produced stay stuck at the top as the juice runs back down the bottle sides more slowly than the usual PG-dominant mix.

About HUMP: Sumg Juice says: "Hump is more than just your usual Turkish blend. Hump is made with a rare exotic Oriental Yenidje tobacco leaf blended with Virginia flue cured and aged Burley tobaccos, for a unique Turkish blend tobacco flavor."
The juice is a light amber color. I detected little to no aroma from the raw juice itself in my standard 18mg strength.

I looked up Yenidje - here's what TobaccoReviews.com has to say, via McClelland Tobacco Company:
"Oriental tobacco cultivation began in the 1600s around the villages of Yenidje and Kirdzhali after Venetian and Genoese traders introduced tobacco smoking to the area in the 1500s. The classic Basma seed introduced there over 300 years ago is believed by some to derive from an ancient Venezuelan variety of Nicotiana Tabacum named Barinas. The very finest Xanthi still comes from the original Yenidje (Genesaia) area of Western Thrace just north of the modern town of Xanthi. It is the Xanthi-Yaka-Basma and the Xanthi-Djebel-Basma that comprise the legendary Yenidje leaf which is thin, full-bodied, flexible, with fine veins. Full of oils, the best leaves are quite small, yellow to brown in color, with a pleasant, delicate aroma and sweet, mild, fresh flavor."

Vapor: Good to very good, in line with what one would expect from a 70VG/30PG blend.

Throat Hit: Solid. Very good.

Flavor: Superb. If you've had NETcom's Sun-Cured Turkish, you'll recognize HUMP right away. What I didn't know was that it's Yenidje that gives a Turkish that unique toasted characteristic. Is HUMP a Sun-Cured Turkish clone? No. The Virginia and Burley made HUMP brighter exactly where it should be brighter - a little on the inhale, a little on the exhale, with the Yenidje in between.

The Coil: The Aspire Bottom Vertical Coil (BVC) survived two tankfuls, and it feels like it could go an additional one to two tanks. HUMP performs very well.

Notes: Make sure you give more time than normal for the blend to bed into the wicking material to avoid initial dry hits. The first two or so hits may seem a little lacking, but at the third or fourth it all hits home perfectly.

The Verdict: HUMP is a winner for me. 9/10. I'm really looking forward to Branded, Cubano Perfecto, and Stogie. Congratulations, Smug Juice, you've won a customer.
