And close approximations of Mountain Oak Vapors's discontinued NET flavors?

I am really addicted to 3 of Mountain Oak Vapors NET flavors. Unfortunately that company has decided to discontinue 2 of the 3 flavors I was really addicted to, Hey Jack and Pendragon. They only one left they have that I'm still addicted to is their NET RY4.

What I'm hoping for help with is if anyone knows of a pretty close approximization for the MOV type of flavor? I have tried several different NET vendors, and to me that flavor is really unique. It is like their NET flavors are "sharper" than other vendors. MOV flavors "cut" more to me. Whereas the other vendors are more "full bodied" with more quirky bass notes than high notes.

I've also found I like NET flavors that have added sweeteners. The sweetener shouldn't overpower the tobacco, just enhance it a little bit.

I notice on some NET threads on this forum that MOV NETs are "cold macerated". Maybe it's the cold maceration process that delivers a sharper flavor?

I really don't even know if I'm explaining it right. But "sharper" flavor is the best term I can come up with.

The best approximation I've found is The Plume Room, with their sweetened NET flavors. But it's still a ways off MOV, although half as far off as other vendors I've tried... Maybe if I steep their flavors they'll get closer... I have gotten lazy about steeping juices over the last month.

I saw on another thread on this forum that Ethervapes does cold maceration too. But the thread was from late '14. Any idea if they're still maintaining good quality and still cold macerating?

Well, it looks like Ethervapes is a no go. Looks like they went out of business.

Any other cold maceration NET vendors out there? I have no idea. But I'm wondering if that was the key.

Another unique thing about MOV is their MET flavors require no steeping at all. Not sure why. I emailed the company owner back and forth years ago. He said he didn't believe in steeping. It was stupid and really does nothing, I know that's not true because it makes a lot of difference in flavors from other vendors, but I tried steeping his product a couple of times. Made no difference except the flavor was a touch flatter, just like the owner said it would.

I don't care if I have to steep or not. I just wonder if not having to steep says anything about how the juice was made so that maybe I'd better know how to find an alternative?

Try Maple, Eh from Heather's Heavenly Vapes for your Hey, Jack needs. Not certain about the Pendragon (cherry, vanilla). Legend from HHV is very, very good, but no vanilla but cherry notes (and other dark fruits). Legend is, well, legendary -- a truly exceptional NET vape.

Yes, Ethervapes went out of business. Look over to myvapejuice and Naturally-extracted-tobacco.com as well.

Here's hoping MOV will at least keep Southern Gentleman and Sunday Morning, but i wouldn't bet on it.

Definitely try Net.com . Cold maceration is an option in many of their pipe blends. I would also check their hybrid offerings. Call Clay before you order, he will recommend a couple based on your talk.

What does cold maceration vs heat maceration do to the flavor? I googled and was very surprised I couldn't find anything.
This is a quick explanation from Clay at NET.com...

Many of our extracts/e-Liquids are also available as either heated extractions or cold macerations (soaking/steeping), which results in subtle, but noticeable differences in taste and performance. Cold maceration tends to be a little milder and smoother, with less throat hit to some, but may also require less coil maintenance. Cold maceration may also permit some to detect more of the layering of tobacco flavors in a blend whereas, heat extraction tends to "marry" together.
Think of it as cooking with herbs. When cooked, the flavors of the herbs are blended in with the overall flavor as opposed to adding the herbs to the final dish to give a new layer of flavor.
