I even used them over a carto on an eGo. Totally unnecessary, but I liked the bling. I'm hoping some day I'll find a reason to use them again lol. I liked the hex cut ones.

I'm still sitting on around 40 or 50 cartos of various sizes and ohms. 510's, 801's etc etc. Still have my carto tanks as well. I just can't get myself to fire one of them up, and go What the HECK?! :D

Hey folks, been a while since I've posted in this thread. A good friend of mine is a 30 year cigar smoker (all day every day kind of cigar smoker). He's seen me vaping for a year and has been curious but not ready to pull the trigger. He's ready now and I couldn't be happier for him. I've been concerned because he's in his late 50's now and wear and tear from smoking is showing.

I need to keep his first gear purchase simple. Twists or itaste vv + protank 2's or 3's (minis). I love a good NET but many are tough on coils. I need to keep it simple and my buddy only wants tobaccos flavors to start. I think a couple of good NETs will get him on track. I need some recommendations for cigar type NETs that won't kill a disposable coil too quickly. Doesn't even have to be a pure net as long as the flavor is similar to cigars. I never really got into the cigar type flavor profile so I'm not sure the best way to go.

Thanks!

Good collection of Cigar extractions at MyVapeJuice: https://www.myvapejuice.com/index.php/cPath/39/osCsid/17bba86571a454cb2e37aad77a5c5efa

Maybe even some that he smokes. Seeing as how he's going to be using Clearos, Diane's juices are also a heck of a lot easier on coils compared to some other NET's I've tried, but there's a slight sacrifice on flavour which I guess was required in order to process a super clean burning juice.

You could try starting with a couple from the STP line at MVJ. They are probably the easiest on coils. The flavor might be a bit subtle for his taste though. In the STP line I'm really digging the current CAO Italia that is about 4 months along. That would also give him the chance to pick from some names he might recognize. That was one of the biggest reasons I chose MVJ in the beginning. I recognized many of the cigar names on sight.

Hey Bob, nice to see you pop in.

The selection of fairly clean cigar NETs seems pretty limited. I agree with what's been said, MVJ has a great selection and are extremely clean; the downside is they are subtle so may not work for an all day cigar smoker of 30 years. Definately worth a try though, probably want to get extra flavor.

RiverBottomFogSauce has a couple great cigars that are fairly clean, but that would only work if flavored cigars work for him. Poet & Scholar is a honey cigar and Dagwood's Wife is Trippin' is an ACID Blondie cigar extraction.

Of course W2V and NETcom have some big cigar winners, and GeJ has a new cigar NET, but those don't won't be as clean on coils.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies. I think mvj might do the trick. His taste buds are shot right now so it may not matter with the tradeoff of less flavor. He tried my DIY stuff and some 6 month old Vita Bella at the beach a month ago and had a hard time tasting anything clearly. Liked the throat and mouth hit on my kayfun at least.

I'm on the lower nic side nowadays so 18-24 will make up some of it in a clearo. I'm just glad he wants to give it an honest chance. If he can knock off the cigars for a month his taste should come back enough to experience how good it can be.

Spent a short time with Analog Red and ouR whY from QnJ. AR is decent, has an obvious soaked flavor right now. Not much to say; needs some age on it.

The RY4 however is poppin'. Dark caramel, not too strong but a good presence and a very nice caramel. Solid and obvious vanilla. A very tasty, smokey fire cured tobacco. I wouldn't necessarily say it's a strong tobacco vape, but in the realm of RY4 it very much is; it's the strongest tobacco I've had in an RY4. It pretty much tastes like I expected an RY4 with fire cured tobacco to taste and I'm happy that all the elements are well done. Very nice vape.

Well, I found out yesterday that a 2.5 micron NET will go 4ml on a properly constructed wick. I vaped through 2.2ml of Johni's Kuba Deluxe and realized the steeping had done wonders for it. So, I decided to torture test the coils and wicks. I was pleasantly surprised by how well it held up. The flavor started falling after about 2.8ml and was pretty flat by the end. However, I think that was more about overloading my buds than anything. The head kept performing with minimum issues right up until the end.

Now the flavor isn't as much of a face punch as one of Boomer's extracts. However, it was more prominent than an MVJ cigar. It was about the same as an MVJ pipe with extra flavor, maybe a bit more presence. It makes me feel extremely confident about using a 3 micron filter for making NETs that will last through the work day and present a good amount of flavor.

Jerms, would you say this is similar to RBFS Count Carmel, which I like a lot?

how would you compare the gunk factor to some of the gunkier commercial NET's like Ahl aro's ? What kind of coil did you use, a non contact coil or a tensioned micro coil ?

I am trying to figure out what kind of filter paper to order. An evenly spaced non contact coil increases the vaping time on the gunkier liquids considerably. If you achieved 4 ml on a micrcoil though, that's a clean NET.

It was a factory Kanger coil that has been distorted by at least a dozen rewickings. So, some parts touch and others don't. For me it exceeded what I ever get from NETcom. The best I can get from NETcom on a Kanger coil and cotton wick is about 1.7ml. Even then the coil is gunked considerably. With Johni's the dry burn was more about drying out the internals to make inserting a new wick easier. It was completely clean well before the liquid burned out of the crevices.

How much solvent you use can also affect the need for lower micron filtering, I believe. Diane once said she had never used a filter as low as 2.5 microns.

Well... USPS surprised me more than typical ... They had originally estimated the arrival for my two drippers I ordered , another Infinite Magma and a Tobeco Mephisto, from 101Vapes to be Aug 28... It arrived today actually.

So after work, I'll coil up the Mephisto and see how it compares to the Magma... :)

Well, if that's the case i think i would be ok with coffee filter and then 6 micron. I have never had an issue with MVJ juices, even with a 28 gauge micro coil. We all vape differently, so i can't really compare others results. I only just received my first NET.com order today, so i can't comment on their juices, out of the juices i have the gunkiest is probably Ahl Devil Dog, and i can get a kfl tank out of that with a 7 wrap 2.2 mm 29 gauge kanthal non contact coil. Just barely, but with kgd ( not bunched up though, short wick length ) it's possible. So far that's the best performing coil and wick combo i have experimented with.

I think i will be ok with 6 micron. I will be extracting teas manly though, so i am not sure if gunk is even an issue.

Not OT for this thread but maybe one of you knows where to find a decent non NET synthetic cigar flavor. My buddy is going to buy some MVJ but I think it would be a good idea for him to test synthetic as well. I can mix it for him too so concentrates are fine as well as premix.
Isn't Dekang juice synthetic? If so, they make a cigar e-liquid. I believe GeJ carries it. It's not a cigar, but he could also get Patriot in the same order. I've been able to get a decent amount of Patriot through a coil before gunking and it has a rather strong, long lasting, flavor profile. Worth a try.

I recieved my first ever Net.com package today. Order was placed on Aug 15, mixed on 8/19 and arrived today.

I had ordered 30 ml of Black Cavendish, Bombay, 3-Crown, Perique, Flue Cured Virginia and Flue Cured Burley. I left the extraction method on all at the default heat macerated option, with a note that he could change to cold if he thought that the particular flavor would benefit.

He wrote a note explaining the difference, and included two samples of cold macerated Virginia and Bombay, so i could compare. Also included were samples of The Boss and Dover Court.

This is my first interaction with Clay, and i must say i am impressed. I don't really know of his past troubles except for what i have read here. I can't say he started off with a completely clean slate with me because i am only human and what i have read here is in the back of my mind, but my feelings are very positive so far.

Really nice labels too. Now lets see how the juice tastes !

Bob,

Many, many synthetic cigar retail juices and flavorings are available in the marketplace, but a decent one? Sorry, I've never vaped a single synthetic cigar juice---retail or DIY made from a cigar flavoring---that was decent. Every one I've ever had has been ersatz. Hangsen Cubana Cigar is probably the best of the 20 or so I've had, which is damning with faint praise.
