From Vapedojo I woke up to this awesome news which hopefully will help our ailing NET industry!

The FDA just announced that they are extending the regulation deadlines by 4 years, from August 8th, 2018 to August 8th, 2022 for ENDS products. Yes, 2022.

This is still developing, and the FDA isn't expected to release a written update of the guidelines until next week at the earliest, but here's the basics:

  • The grandfather date of 8/8/2007 stays in place.
  • All products still have to go through a Pre-Market tobacco Application (PMTA) process. Previously, it was due on August 8th 2018, it is now due by August 8 2022.
  • Any specific regulations that have already been implemented [age restrictions, warning labels, etc.] stay. No retroactive changes to any of these.
  • New guidelines and documentation concerning PMTAs and the type of research and requirements the FDA/CTP will be looking for will be issued in the upcoming months.
  • The things we already have going on will keep going on. Registration dates, ingredient listings, harmful material reports will all continue to be submitted as outlined in the current deeming regs, until further notice.

This is pretty great news for the industry as a whole. We have been working towards our PMTA application process, following the timeline set forth by the deeming regs, but without nearly any specific direction from the FDA. The FDA is now saying '...Maybe alternative, less-harmful nicotine products aren't as bad as originally thought. Here's some extra time to get your stuff ready, and here's an actual roadmap and directions as to what we want to see when you turn it in.'

The bigger overall point is that FDA director Gottlieb is apparently more open to examining situations, gathering research, and making decisions based on that, versus knee-jerk, all or nothing stances that seem to have made up previous policies. This statement relays the fact that they are interested not only in ENDS, but in a full range of harm reduction, from new hardware research to reducing nicotine levels in traditional cigarettes.

These are exciting times, and this is some of the best news we could have hoped for on a Friday! Everyone enjoy your weekends, and stay tuned for updates, as the FDA releases more information.

This is very exciting news!! If I was to quit vaping today for any reason, I would still fight for individuals right to do so. I quit analogs for 5 years, but once I started again, I really had no desire to quit again. Knowing I should, I prayed for the desire to quit. Seemingly out of the blue, it was given to me to at least try one day, and armed with my first e-cig, I gave it a go. That was over 13 months ago! Yippee ki yay :)
I honestly do not think I could have quit any other way.

Well, I have dived in with an order for Real Tobacco Extracts. I've picked up the cigarette sampler, two of the cigar samplers and a liquor/spirit sampler that Evan added to the samplers at my request.

Evan has been nothing short of a perfect host and has been courteous and responsive.

Will let you all know what I think of the juices.

Hi Anthony B. Thanks for your post. I also received stellar service from Evan at RTE - He added a 2x AND a 3x menthol level to my order of Cowboy Menthol so I could see what menthol level suited my taste. He also sent me a blackberry and tobacco sampler to try as well. Cowboy is Burley and Virginia tobacco - while my experience with different tobaccos is far from extensive, I'm pretty sure the Virginia tobacco I love. However, and taste being subjective, the "smokey" part - I'm guessing the Burley - isn't my thing. I can tell the juice is premo stuff and love the way it feels on my lips and in my mouth - smooooth! I may order some menthol crystals to add to the Blackberry and Virginia, as I'm confident that will make it a really nice vape for me!!

Hey people. Just popping in before I head to sleep. I cut down on my NET usage because of a strange case of vaper's tongue and some coughing that I couldn't really narrow down. As I mentioned previously, I began branching out into other flavors. What was the trend that appeared?

I noticed that my wattage increase and my high PG percentage did not agree with each other. This was the opposite of what happened to me years ago when I was vaping low wattage and high resistance where VG started to congest me. Dehydration went from a minor concern to an actual issue, so water consumption went up and an improved diet resolved that.

I also experienced a problem with breaking out, so once I ran low on Bulk Apothecary VG, got 2.5 gallons of Musim Mas VG from Nicotine River and found that I have practically zero problem with it, and it's sweeter... but they're both palm-based VG? I don't get it.

So anyways, not vaping NETs during that little stint pretty much reset my tastebuds so that I can taste all of them again. They were not the cause of my issues, but they did help me narrow them down... something that was right in front of my nose.

Waiting for some of the more interesting colors of the Serpent SMM to come out of pre-order on FT and an Exo RTA to arrive this week (I also ordered a spare spare deck) to reduce the fiddle factor I get from my filtered-yet-gunky liquids.

I'm still working on understanding a lot of flavors, but found several interesting ones. Just like tobaccos, some of the best flavor notes don't even appear in mixes until they've had some time to sit in the cabinet and behave themselves. Fairly certain Virginias will be a good target for blending sweet fruit with, but can see caramel & vanilla / vanilla creams & cake flavors working in a lot of other places... but I'm biased towards vanillas.

Pistachio is the second time I am ordering. I did not get much if any pistachio taste though the tobacco blend is good. I am going to experiment and add pistachio extract to it as pistachio is one of my all time high flavors that I like.

So, here are a few to consider: TFA Pistachio at 2-5%: pudding-like pistachio.

FA Pistachio is said to be more nutty and "realistic", but I've not mixed with it yet. My gut tells me it'll be another "super-intense upon steeping" flavor like their hazelnut.

There's also Flavorah Pistachio, but I haven't tried it, either.

I kinda just landed on TFA and was super-happy with it.

Bonus: 0.5-1% FA Caramel or 1-2% TFA Dulce de Leche Caramel to create an almost praline-like pistachio. Adding a vanilla cream or french vanilla at this point might shift it over to ice cream or more custard/pudding like depending on how natural and creamy/eggy the vanilla flavor is. Add too much pistachio and the flavor will taste off and dry out in a weird manner, so add cautiously (and slowly!) in any case.

I'll mix some weirdness up tomorrow combining a Burley with the above mixture (my thoughts are that it'll add a smoky nuttiness to the sweet, creamy praline blast going on), but generally caramel/pistachio/vanilla when combined been very forgiving, so much so that I have to try to avoid using the three combined as a crutch.

Now that I have vaping mtl for a while now, I decided I wanted to try out a good tobacco flavor in 24mg. So there is a shop near me that sells own liquid. I asked them about their tabacco flavor and they said that it's derived from actual tobacco. The guy told me that is not harmful and that it's just like any other flavor but in my mind I don't understand how it can not be harmful if it's from actual tobacco which is filled with danderous additives. I've read here on ecf about how people vape this kind of tobacco juice but I would like to know if it has any health hazard over regular E-Liquid. Thanks.

@Brobdingnaglan — thanks for your input, much appreciated. I have not done one single DIY and will only be dabbling initially. Planning to add pistachio to NET.com’s Pistachio. I do have both the TFA and FA Pistachio along with a number of creams and vanillas including caramel. Also FA Almond. Lots of flavors on hand that I have not used yet.

How did your burley mixture turn out?

Anyone hear of Truebacco or tried any of their NETs? Thoughts?

https://www.vapetruebacco.com

Don't really like cigarette type NETs but, wanted a menthol one so got one and i have been vaping their 'new amsterdam' in 20/80vg 3mg at low wattage on a 1.4 single coil for last 4 hours or so, not really getting the menthol part from it but, i can tell it's in there, very smooth. pretty clean NET and i have yet needed to dry burn my coil, YEAH on that part for big reason why i quit vaping NETs regularly over a year ago. This is actually the first true NET i have really enjoyed since walkers tobacco alternatives which were mostly pretty good flavorwise but, gunky as heck. i haven't gotten to the two pipe ones i also bought nor the sample zero nic pack of 5 ones yet but, i think their NETs are going to become my favorite ones out of all the ones i've tried that were available before 2016!

I've ordered the 5cc sample pack, and New Amsterdam is the main one that I'm hoping I like. If so, would be great, as my current menthol NET is quite expensive compared to many company's that I've heard about recently. I received the shipped notice from Truebacco today, so maybe later in week I can let you'all know what I think. I love the taste of NETS compared to artificial tobacco flavors, hands down. Very limited experience with pipe tobacco, tho, so my 5 samples were all chosen from their "cigarette tobacco" selections. If I'm pleased (and you can get order more than one free sample packs) I'd like to explore their NET pipe tobacco sampler.

Thanks for your feedback. Sounds like this is a good potential NET vendor. Once you have had a chance to try the other NETs, can you please come back and let us know about them.

Ok can't go through 750 pages of post. If it has been mentioned I apologize. Black wood e juice is a solid nice and woody great flavour. Might I add. Excellent choice to go with a dram.... or two. :)

Not the manufacturers site. I do not endorse this store. But all the descriptions of the flavour line is right there.

My Real Tobacco Extracts has landed! I ordered 4 sampler packs and Evan was kind enough to throw in an extra bottle for each sampler pack I ordered to make up a little something for the high international shipping costs. Evan has been professional and attentive and generous as well.

I am excited about this order because it is the first substantial NET order I have ordered from a significant and reputable NET vendor for the first time since I ordered Black Note a couple of years ago. I've known about RTE for years but never ordered from the vendor because of the relatively expensive selling price.

Before long I will know if these liquids are as good as the other established vendors and whether the price is commensurate with the quality of the liquids.

PS: I just tried my first liquid and it's the Havana #2. I must say I am impressed already. The juice tastes and smells fresh. No cat urine room note anywhere. The cigar taste is spot on. It has good clarity and tastes clean. As an aside, I am using an Igo L with a spaced coil at 1.4 ohms. I have not used an Igo L in 5 years at least!

That used to be how DVAP made grand entrances. He would not be around anywhere for months and then just pop up with a trite little comment that would have the effect of stunning the audience. His would post out of nowhere almost bland and matter of factly post as though he had been here all along like Katy Perry showing up at a poker game saying 'don't mind me but you should have folded that pair of twos, just saying'

I see you learnt from the master, Mr Mann? :)

How are you Mr Mann?! Are you still a Mr Mom ? What have you been vaping lately?

I stalked you a few weeks ago to see you are still around, albeit on other sites.

Wow, that's quite the investment but I'm intrigued.
I'd be interested to know a few things if you have the time...

Which sample packs did you order?
What strength nic you ordered and also what the throat hit is like?
Also, please could you let me know the shipping cost? I'm based in the uk but i'm guessing International shipping costs will be the same.

Thanks, and above all, enjoy!! :)
