Anyone have recommendations for 4-5 tobaccos to get for my first go at homemade NETs? I've been mixing tobaccos for a while and vaping them since I started 3 years ago and would love to try my hand at making NETs myself. I haven't bought tobacco in a long time and haven't bought much loose leaf at all.

I like pretty much everything. Aromatic pipe, non-aromatic pipes, cigar, burley, Virginia, perique, Latakia, dry, sweet, ashy, grassy, leathery, woody, you name it. I like it all in one form or another.

Hey Brent
Check out the last page of this thread:Best tobacco for flavor extraction
Some of the posters listed their picks for favorite tobaccos to extract.

Well, I'm hoping this thread goes at least 127 more posts. Be one of the longest and oldest threads on ECF. Thirty thousand posts. How many of us read them all? Anyone here that posted in the first 100 posts? Will there be a Part Trois?

There better be a Part Three !! The old girl may have slowed down but she bucks and belches every now and then.

Tobacco Vapes will always have a place in any vaping discussion.

I've been on ECF since May 2010 and started vaping in 2009. However, I only discovered the thread around 2012? Maybe half way into the first thread.

I am an old vaping fart. In fact, I cracked a new Boge carto which I purchased 6 years ago and filled it with 10mg nic Sun dried Turkish from NET.com for gits and shiggles lol

I've read all of them in both threads... but it was early March 2013 before I joined in on the first thread... so certainly not even close to the first 100 posts ( more like 6800+ or so )

Since I've quit vaping.... I have little to add that is current to whats out there now but I still like keeping up with everyone when I have the time. :)

What's it like? Quitting vaping?

So, I haven't seen any further comments about the Real Extracts order you got. Since I only do Real Extracts anymore, I would be interested in your take on these NETs.

Oh yes how daft of me.

I have in fact now tried all of them.

My general experience is that these are good. They are very good. The juices are clean and fresh, with plenty of clarity in the flavour.

The nicotine has a perfect throat. I feel good vaping these juices. Not once have they left me feeling sick. I can only speculate that Evan (is it Evan?) is selling only juices with fresh ingredients in them.

I actually really like all of them. There wasn't one bad one among them. If I had to choose favourites at this stage I would say that the Cowboy, Red Virginia and the Turkish are my favorite in the Pipe Tobacco range.

The cowboy is a robust cigarette vape. I didn't expect that. I expected it to be similar to day Big Spirit from NeT.com but it was bolder, more like a cigarette and yet I could distinguish the Burley from the Virginia.
If I had to pick a favorite it would be Red Virginia. The Red Virginia was a surprise for me because as much as I liked it among NET.coms liquids it wasn't a stand out for me.

The Red Virginia for me is a balance between ashy robust cigarette like vape and a more mellow sweet fragrant pipe.

The Burley that is in the spirit based liquids is also quite robust. I like all of them but I am not getting as much Spirit as I expected. It is more that Spirit acts as a background note to give dimension to the tobacco.

I was surprised at how good the cigar Vapes where, particularly those that tend to turn out bland with other vendors such as Dominicans and Nicaraguan cigars which tend to be mild and have lighter monotone flavour notes compared to oily maduros and Cubans. The Nicaragua and Dominican however are very good. They aren't complex and I'm not getting much leather, nutmeg or oiliness like I might with some cigar Extracts but you can taste the clarify of the cigar.

The Havanas are bold ashy cigars while still retaining their clarity of flavour. The Havana 2 is a little mellower and woody so far.

The Italian plum, being the only fruit based NET hybrid I got surprised me with how good it was. The plum flavor is balanced well with the tobacco which is not entirely front and centre. It's sweet but not overly so and tastes like a fresh plum and not like a plum based artificial flavour.

It's hard for me to cover all the juices because I've sampled many of them by applying a few drops to an atomizer. I've tried 6-7 in tanks to vape all day.

As time passes I expect the steeping process to mature the flavors a bit more. I've tried most within 2 weeks of getting them.

Though the juices are expensive they were what I was expecting for the price. Good quality, well made juices that live up to the promise.

I've had some issues with some recent orders from other vendors so it was nice to finally get an order where my experience of the juices harked back to the halcyon days of NETs where vendors bent over backwards to make sure their juices would be loved.

I ordered tRY4.1, Carrot Cake, Cinnamon Sugar Cookie, all of which I love. I had misgivings about the Sugar Cookie when I first ordered it, as cinnamon in other vendors was irritating nasally. Clay suggested I try it, given that his cinnamon flavoring was very different. He was quite right, it's great.
I also ordered, for the first time, Black Cherry, Carameld Pecan (which Clay said to me to be one of his new favorites) and Anthony B's Rum Rebellion. I'm guessing that's you isn't it?

Yeah that's me lol

I like the cinnamon sugar cookie on my 2017 order, not so much on my 2017 order.

Yep, I still use my HH357's occasionally. You and I found this thread around the same time. My first post on ECF was in September of 2012. I miss those early days on this thread. A lot of friends no longer post here but they are not forgotten, nor is all the great vaping knowledge they shared.

Yeah. I started vaping about a year after your first post, and it was a very exciting and active time here on ECF in general. I do also miss it. Remarkable camaraderie, helpfulness and newness of it all. Oh well.
Where in MA are you? I'm in Northampton.

Yea, there were several of us swapping our extracts back and forth and also our different techniques for getting the best out of pipe tobacco. I'm in downtown Boston.

Nice little swap meet you had going.
For me, when I first started vaping, and within a couple of days of which stopped smoking (which actually wasn't my objective), I enjoyed many juices which I now find quite unpleasant. In fact, there aren't many I like anymore, other than NETs, a couple of fruits and unflavored. And a couple of tobaccos which are not strictly speaking NETs.
I've never tried extracting on my own. Maybe one day I will.

It's so easy and you save a lot of money. Minimum investment of $20 for a coffee press. All the pipe tobacco and cigars to choose from plus you can add flavoring for a hybrid. A win-win situation.

And the amount of liquid you will get for that small investment, boomerdude mentioned, is comparable to hundreds, if not a thousand dollars, of store bought eliquid..... :rickroll:

Thanks both of you.
Two questions. (I, at some point, printed a couple of posts from somewhere about extracting tobaccos. Need to find them and follow up.)
First, is there any one thread anywhere which is focused on DIY NETs?
Second, since many of the NET.com juices I really like have some non-tobacco flavoring, any pointers on this?

ECF does have a section for DIY for NET: Liquid Extraction From Tobacco
