I just received some tobacco samples from Heather's, how long should I let them sit before trying? Thanks.

First, shake, takes caps/drippers off and let breathe for 12-24 hours. Then caps back on, shake and let sit for a day.

Then try them out. I usually let them sit for a couple of days before sampling. The NETS bloom with longer steeping than the non-NETs, but many are good within the first week and all improve with time. I'll vape Heavenly ARMY within the first week, but Huntsman needs a few months for my own personal preference.

Edited: I forgot to add, if you got the Sample PACKS (12mg nic only), then those are usually good to go out of the mail, but a good breathing is never a bad thing.

Just picked up a couple 15ml bottles of RBFS Porch Rocker & Poet & Scholar from a local B&M. According to the shop owner, these are mixed and delivered to them by the man himself. Have any of you had Brian's mixes and the mixes from Vaping Watch? I tried some of Watch's Pluid side by side Murdocks mix today, and there's a discernible difference. RBFS is supposed to be just extract and PG/VG but there can always be difference in ratios from one Chef to the next.

My sample of Atomic Grasshopper went from "huh?" to "woah, this actually tastes like something between mint-chocolate chip ice-cream and a York Peppermint Patty"

This is after a week of steeping, whole cap off ordeal. It had been loaded into the Aspire ETS-BDC for a whole week before this one started to shine.

HHV's juices vastly improve with steeping. DF and Sludge benefitted from this, but Sludge was a little gunky in comparison to DF.

You'll notice, also, that the double-extract versions of the juices not only start out almost a full shade darker, but tend to improve further with age exponentially. I highly recommend extra tobacco extract in Shadow, though- I think that you would enjoy HA in this manner.

I guess I'm a little backwards when it comes to Huntsman- I'll vape it or Legend straight out of the box.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, my first big order with HHV; all of the tobaccos had extra extract in them. Even the Jiggy, but of course, Jiggy doesn't really taste like any tobacco you'd expect and deserves a good steeping- otherwise I find it tastes somewhat like cough syrup.

Also found my box with all of the vape parts I saved... along with a bunch of phoenix bottom-coil clearos. A pain to fill due to the whole needle/syringe fiddling, but I recall them having pretty good flavor and working quite well with HHV's NET's.

I think I'll try to re-build one of these things, but I haven't quite sat down to tear one apart yet to see what I'll be able to do with it. The only huge downsides I recall were dry hits, overwicking, and they burnt through juice quite quickly; similar to an iclear16, but without the two coils to fiddle with and operating under a semi-vacuum rather than purely wicking and vaping.

I guess it's time I got some Ekowool. Off to research how well it withstands dry burns and torches, first, though.

I still want to do a stainless steel mesh mini-nova head rebuild.

..My only concern using stainless at all is carbide precipitation (what most people mistakenly call 'oxidation'- this would be rust rather than a black carbonized layer), and I think I might be able to get around that by not torching the stainless whatsoever and perhaps baking it or boiling it.

EDIT: Also, a few pages back, Mr.Mann mentioned a 15% coupon? I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for this, but as I understand it from poking around a bit in the Ahlusion thread, it's only good for 15 days?

Still waiting on my W-2's. I have all of my other calculations done. This is frustrating, lol.

Not only were they sent to the wrong address, but the person in finance has engaged in a perpetual phone-tag battle over getting them sent to the correct address.

Kudos to Brian for upping his game with more accurate descriptions! Sadly, I think we are a small minority in wanting accurate, detailed descriptions! "It's the bomb" or "Wow" and other such drivel seems to work for the majority. Also, if there are any vendors listening, clean up the spelling and grammar on your websites! Advertising mistakes scream unprofessional-ism!

Can I get an AMEN!! :glare: [Yes, language matters!]

C&d by AVE is good and tastes to me like an unlit marlboro

Jonathan, what is "C&D"? (I've never vaped AVE juices.)

:) I was scared to try it, too, from past honey trauma.

Though I'm not a Tube E-Mod or VV Tube Battery guy, a co-worker has the K-2 Mod from Fast Tech. It's a very clean looking SS I'd own if that was my style; https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10005914/1452203-k2-mechanical-mod

On topic, Vurley burns fairly clean and maintains good flavor in my Kafun Clone, I get ~5ml of good vape time before a dry burn & wick change.

Finally digging into my last RBFS NET, Pirates Drunken Sweet Tooth; Virginia, Burley, Maple, and Rum. It's good, fairly mild tobacco but stronger than I expected. It reminds me of Fab & Burley with a tobacco flavor that reminds me of the steam distilled instead of macerated. Nice leafy tobacco flavor like F&B. The rum and maple is thankfully mild and unobtrusive. It's definately tastier than the early, well-aged sample that Mann had sent.

Also cleaned up my M16. I shouldn't have complained about the threading before a proper cleaning, as they are now buttery smooth. Huge difference in the locking ring. The soaking in hot soapy water has loosened the floating pin a little too. So really liking it now, and appreciating the very solid feel it has.

I've had a lot of fun messing around with the inline volt meter today, learned a lot. Here's some battery info based on voltage drop with a 1 ohm load for battery buyers here.

Old batteries have a pretty large voltage drop, they may charge to 4.2 volts but they don't give nearly that; recycle them.

EH brand 18500 IMR from MadVapes. During sales, very cheap. Voltage drop, terrible. Don't buy.

AW 18350 IMR, impressively little voltage drop at 1 ohm for a small battery. Buy them. (Efest not as good, but not too bad).

Newish very high drain 18650, Samsung INR-20R. Amazing (which I could tell using them). They last a long time too. Buy them. Buy a lot of them (only $5 at FT). The newish Sony isn't quit as good, and has less mAh, Samsung wins. (Though Sony has some newer newish ones with more capacity).

Vaping the last of my Smooth Crim tonight, very sad. Gonna have to get some Just Crim. Saweet.

Appreciate this insight very much. :)

I just finished receiving two sets of batts and a charger for my Itaste VTR. Both pair of batts are button top.

The AW IMR 18650 are the 1600mAh 24amp and I read that these handle the 'high drain' better and with my 8.0 to 9.0 watts they will last as long, maybe longer between charges than 2000mAh 10amp batts.

The other two are Efest IMR 18650 2250mAh 10amp Batts, bought them with the charger to get free shipping. :D
These are pretty much standard fare for mods but they are a very little bit longer and makes closing the compartment door on my VTR difficult.
Should be no prob for threaded tube mods.

Just an FYI

Ahhh, it's so nice to be back on topic again.....does anyone know if NET.com is still running at 3 week lead time? I ordered a sample pack of cig flavors and am chomping at the bit to try them out!

I placed my order on 2/14. It still says this:
Order Status: Processing ...(snip)...This order has already shipped or has reached the final stages of processing. Therefore this order is no longer editable.

I'll let you folks know the day I receive it.

Also, don't forget that 2AM is about to become 3AM due to DST.

Clocks forward, less sleep. There needs to be a "Sleep Day" holiday prior to this occurring to ensure people that work weekends aren't robbed of already-scarce sleep.

Methinks Poet & Scholar may be Tatiana Honey Flavored Corona. I will extract and report. Waiting on P&S from VW. I'm really looking forward to this.

At $37.50 this stuff better be Norse God Taint in a Gold Dripper.

( See what I did there? )

$37.50? Wow. I knew that River Bottom NETs were pricey, but that's astronomical. I like P&S, but I guess I'd better make my free 30ml bottle from Bryan last a long time, because I won't pay anything close to that for a retail eliquid. Like Boomer, I'll extract my own, thank you very much.

Hey Boomer, be sure to let us know how the Tatiana Corona extract turns out.

I take it that Bryan often blends his own tobaccos for extracting, which shows both dedication and considerable knowledge. I have neither the savvy required nor any interest in doing that. With zillions of cigars and pipe tobacco blends available, I just read the ingredient descriptions and reviews, pick whatever I like to order one-ounce samplers (and soon individual cigars), then let 'er rip. Easier for me to Frankenjuice after the fact, which I do with the gusto of a mad scientist and the delight of a small child.

I'm about to extract another heat-assisted batch of four---three more pipe tobaccos and another cigarette blend. That will make 18 home-brewed natural tobacco extracts and 3 natural coffee extracts. I really need to start sharing these on the PIF/Swap thread...

I've been waiting to see how you would list all of your home brews in that thread so I could just copy it. I've got twelve but that's still a long list if you include any kind of descriptions.

I am also going to extract some cigars, starting with a couple of ACIDs since I'm impressed with DWIT.

The honey in Poet & Scholar was a bit much for me straight outta the mail box, but Dagwood's Wife Is Trippin was revelatory. P&S is going to the steeper for a few weeks before I try it again.

RBFS quickie reviews...

Porch Rocker - I have been rocking this all week in mass binge sessions. It is, solid. Nothing special compared to the other top similar blends. That is, however, putting it innthe top blend category which is high praise indeed. It is not blowing my socks off, there is only 1 Louisville afterall, but it is very solid and very authentic. What I like is that despite it not being a whole other world of vape, Brian knows it isn't. it is HIS preferred blend, with the ever so subtle higher Perique content. I respect and appreciate this. It is very solid. Not groundbreaking, but solid and I will gladly vape it up.

Poet & Scholar - I am in the Racoon Piss club when it comes to honey vapes. We have membership card and ice cream socials. Honey cured might have ruined me forever. Just one of those things like black tea that seeme like a perfect tobacky compliment, but aint necessarily so. It can get FUNKY. I had low expectations of P&S as a result. Then I loaded up my EPM cigar mod.

Holy crap

This stuff...is...OUTSTANDING. Absolutely wonderful. READ CAREFULLY ... THIS IS REQUIRED VAPING FOR ALL MEMBERS OF LA COSA NETSTRA.

It reads like a true cigar and gives a legit "smoking" experience. The cigar undertones are all there, the base to me is unmistakeable Cuban seed. The honey element is PERFECT, it actually tastes as though the wrappers has been marinated in honey then aged. No funkiness, maybe just barely sweet. The honey does what it should, smooth the edges of the leather component and even add a touch of depth. Brilliant...and delicious

Had I tried this 2 weeks ago it may have been my #1 cigar and could also have made my flavored tobacco list. Outside of the pantheon of unadulterated cigar vapes (Managua, Alcazar, 3 Crowns) this is my favorite flavored cigar vape NET I have ever tried. BRILLIANT, totally unique, and delicious!

All I have to say is SWEET BABY JEZUS, this Poet & Scholar is amazing. Wasn't expecting the honey to be that forward, as I've been doing some cased tobacco extracts lately and the added flavorings always seem a bit muted. The bottles I received have been well steeped, and the flavor is outstanding. If anyone can confirm, I'm guessing this is a higher PG blend, as the vape is fairly toothy even at 8mg.

The Porch Rocker I sampled is a clean and wonderfully toasty, but not an OMG I need this juice. I feel like I've been able to get fairly close to this profile in some of my extracts thus far.

If anyone is interested, this B&M Vaporcraft Electronic Cigarettes, Store, Shop lead, dealer, personal vaporizers, e-liquids, accessories, vapor Cigarettes Birmingham, Clawson, Troy, Madison Heights Royal Oak, Zombie Provari carries the entire RBFS line (Mixed by Bryan himself, not by Watch) in 15ml bottles for $14. They don't have an online store, but give them a call.

VaporCraft is where Brian and I have met up.

It's truly something special to be privileged enough to have a real vape store near. When I say "real," I am distinguishing it from the run-of-the-mill "ecig store" that sells overpriced eGo-like batteries and either some crappy DIY liquid or just bulk China juice. And when I said "near," I am talking about close enough that I can leave my house on "low fuel" and drive there and back without worry.

I couldn't believe I had a store close that actually had high-end mods/JDSs, popular liquids and a knowledgeable staff. I swear, sitting at the VC vape table and repeatedly hearing the staff explain to customers that the tobacco liquid they sell (from RBFS) are called "naturally extracted tobacco," I couldn't help but to feel a little tingly inside, and, well, also a little dirty. LOL. I let the owner off the hook for "correcting" my pronunciation of La-ta-KI-a. He said, it's called La-TA-kia, I just gave a half-smile and went back to vaping off of his Chi_You and Prometheus.
