Lifting my end of a PM conversation with MFT.

The Nub Cameroon is pretty darn tasty. I'm finishing it up today. I really like the after taste and exhale. I liked it enough that I ended up with MVJ's Cohiba Red Dot just to have another Cameroon wrapped cigar flavor on hand. The only issue with the Nub is that I have trouble getting a whole Mini PT3 through the coils. I end up vaping the whole thing in like three hours. Then I have to replace the head. If it wasn't for that little issue I would have finished it long ago.

The C.I is good. It just seems to open up more on the factory silica wicks from Kanger. The cotton brightens it up too much in my opinion. I really like the fact that you're stretching out from the ordinary. That is what really makes the C.I stand out. Nobody else has went in that direction, but the experiment paid off.

I'm debating on whether I should buy some base for the Orlick extract that Boomer sent or a coffee press, felt filter, and PG. I already have a cart sitting at Cigar.com. All of this testing has me itching to try some of my own. I've got a CAO L’Anniversaire Cameroon, Gurkha Ninja Knife, and My Uzi Weighs A Ton Kentucky Fire Cured by Drew Estates just sitting there. I'm just hung up over the filtering process. I'm not sure 5 micron filtering will get the juice clean enough to last all day at work.

If it don't make dollars it don't make sense! We ought not get it twisted: Wlad is all about business (from his education to his approach).
Totally agree MM. Didn't mean to twist anything, just passing on some info. I love Wlad's flavors and business is business. I want Ahlusion to stay around forever, whatever it takes.

pardon the typos, on my phone :)

I'm sorry, but I just have to type this -- what's up with vendors having solely 30ml bottles for sale? I really have a hard time making a first-time purchase from anyone. Couple that with my "bird" style of vaping (a few drops of this today, a few drops of that tomorrow) and I end up having to give away a lot of juice because: a) I couldn't bear to vape it; (b) I initially liked it, but now "The Thrill is Gone" or; (c) the juice's flavor goes south. And I'm paying in a lot of situations 20+ dollars to experiment with your "best _____" liquid. Ok, I'm done, please resume your regularly scheduled posting. :)

I just received several extracts from Johni in a trade. It was all I could do to tear myself away from his excellent Centenary extract. I'm going to have to start extracting this as my supply of this extract is getting low. If I do half well as he does, I'll be extremely happy.
Really any of our extractors on the thread do a fabulous job. I have had some of Bill's and he is also a champ, IMHO.
Someday I hope to try some of our other expert extractors juices that on this thread.

Now on to the juice I made today from Johni's Hearth & Home Signature Virginia Spice.
Naturally, I could not wait to try it. I always follow the guru Bill's advice and try juices several times during a steep as this insures ones finding the "sweet spot" for their individual pinnacle of taste!
The taste today is a pure slightly sweet taste with a familiar background of the Perique. I am NOT going to get into the discussion of the purity of same. I do feel, with some aging the Perique will become more pronounced and flavorful, and the juice will definitely evolve into a much more mature enjoyable vape. Thanks to the thread for all the friends and knowledge I have come to know to date! :toast: :vapor:

Me too. If retail vendors (RBFS, HoL, GeJ, NETcom, etc.) are getting ahold of it, we should be able to as well. I've got a few (what I think are) pure Periques and Acadians on the way, so I'll be happy to share my results.

BTW, I am interested in hearing about your results. Who did you buy your stock from?

From Pipes and Cigars - McClelland Blending Oriental, McClelland Blending Perique, McClelland Blakeney's Best Toasted Tin Sampler (Acadian Ribbon, Bayou Slice, Latakia Flake, and Tawny Flake), Acadian Perique, Brigham Acadian, and NYPC Bedloe's Island VaPer Oriental.

If it don't make dollars it don't make sense! We ought not get it twisted: Wlad is all about business (from his education to his approach).

When Backwoods Brew RY4 was discontinued, much mournful wailing ensued on ECF and elsewhere. Why? Because that juice was hugely popular. While Bluegrass Burley and Devil Dog! were truly amazing NET liquids, they were never very popular in the vaping community. My own reaction echoed that. They were breathtaking juices, all right, but I simply wasn't in love with them. Shoot, I spent more time posting about those two than I ever did vaping them. So the passing of Ahlusion's Aromatic line won't affect me at all. In fact, I'm glad to see that Wlad knows when it's time to move on.

On the other hand, Smooth Criminal is a perennial winner, and Caramel Wild Wood is to die for. Those juices may not be as technically incredible as BGB and DD, but they're delicious. I'll don a black arm band if those two are discontinued.

Bill,

With your PGA extract, once you mix in your PG/VG, How are you eliminating the water and alcohol left over from the PGA?

From talking to Nick, he swears he's the ONE with the goods! You all that know more about the particulars should give him a call. Nick is a riot!

Unfortunately, I'm not on the best of terms with Nick. Most likely on his permanent sh@t list. Besides, wouldn't he consider the name of the perique he uses and the source proprietary?

After filtering the 40ml of PGA solvent from the 5-day cold maceration, I evaporated it in a pan with low heat for about ten minutes, to a point where only 5-10ml of thickened, darker liquid was left. To that I added 40ml of PG, stirred to consistency, then re-filtered that through a paper coffee filter to remove what were apparently oil globules.

Beyond that, I haven't done anything. Every time I open the extract bottle, I assume the alcohol is evaporating away, perhaps slowly or gradually. The juices I've mixed so far from the two extracts do not have any perceptible alcohol taste to my palate, and they vape exactly like "regular" juices, so I haven't worried about it.

To all you Ahlusion aromatic fans, from Ahlusion's web site under the descriptions of BGB and DD:

"Our Aromatic line will soon be removed permanently from our online menu."

Explains why the others are gone... But House Blends are back.

Ooooooohhhhhhh fuuuuuudge!

"Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the 'F-dash-dash-dash' word!"

Agreed!

30ml is fine for B&M store size, where you can sample before you buy, not a good smallest size for internet sales. Especially at the boutique prices most are at now.

Tried out Johni's Kuba juice. My first thought was, "man this is almost MVJ clear." It really is only a shade or two darker. In my protank it is nearly the same color as MVJ's Brazilia. Brazilia is one of the darker cigar vapes I've had from her. There is some serious filtering happening in Johni's corner of the net world.

My initial taste impression, "this is what I think MVJ would taste like with an extra flavor shot." It definitely captures the sweetness of the Kuba. The tobacco plays a supporting role. That is what I expect from any Acid extract. So, that is pretty pleasant. I think this juice has serious potential with some steeping. It is one of my top five from MVJ. . . Oh wait it isn't from MVJ. Johni has definitely leaped into a different region of the extraction map.

This is a top notch product and should easily last 2ml or more without messing with coils.

The water content was my concern. I once cut a 100% VG with water and the vape was so hot that it burnt my mouth. Evidently the amount from the Everclear is well below the pain inducing threshold.

I've had Johni, Boomer's, and MFT's e-liquids. Who am I missing besides Bill?

You guys are definitely delivering a commercial level product. Johni would be the MVJ, MFT is in Net.com teritory, and Boomer might be on a level above that. Boomer's delivers the presence and taste with a hammer but kills my rewicks in about 1.5ml. MFT's go a little lighter on the presence and taste. However, they could go as an all day vape without beating up your buds. Near the top of the bottle I was getting over 2ml easy. At the bottom of the bottle MFT's liquid moves firmly into netcom territory in every way. That includes the single Mini PT3 before swapping out heads. I don't know where Johni's will end up in the long run. It has essence and more presence than MVJ. I don't see how his couldn't last 2ml or longer without a problem.
