I understand that. My thought process is pretty simple. I want to inject new flavors and profiles into the system. Somebody has to be the "new idea" guy. I am aiming to be that guy. All of the net vendors and some the extractors seem to be following the same path. I want to shake it up a little bit while staying inside of the traditional parameters. I haven't seen anybody extract a cigar man from mostly African tobacco. I haven't seen anybody doing a San Andres wrapped cigar or a pipe tobacco infused cigar. There are a lot of guys out there doing interesting things in the tobacco world. We should be embracing that in the net world. Instead, I see a lot of the same things (ideas and tobaccos) going around and around. I just want to spice things up a little bit.

That isn't meant to belittle the work and effort put in by the people in the community. There has been a lot of work and dedication put into the field. I just want to contribute something that stands out and makes an impression. It is my way of giving back to those that have given so much.

Mike,

If you want to carve out a niche for yourself as the guy who home extracts unusual, eccentric, or even weird tobaccos, by all means have at it. I just hunt for tobaccos that I think might taste good. Not that I wouldn't extract an unusual tobacco blend, but it's not something I factor in when choosing tobaccos to extract.

That's the bottom line of how I judge every natural tobacco extract, whether my own or someone else's: Does the juice made from a particular extract taste good? That will be how I'll judge your extracts, too, if I ever happen to vape any of them. Some blends that seem pretty out there make great-tasting juice, while other, more standard blends don't always pan out or pass muster.

NETCOM update on my 4/22 order...

SHIPPING NOTICE VIA EMAIL

Of course, the link to track the package at their website doesn't work because they shut the website down again. Also, when tracking via USPS all I show is 2-Day Priority shipping...but no pickup date. Only "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS" on...wait for it...July 4

What the sharknados?

More mysteries from the good chaps at NETCOM.

Any recommendations on MOV's NETS?

If you like a strong tobacco flavor, Apache and Southern Gentleman are outstanding. Sunday morning is great if you like coffee mixed with your tobacco. Full Virginia Flake RY4 is really good as well, if you like RY4s. Sweet and creamy, but still has a good tobacco presence.

There are a lot of "traditional" Cuban style cigars on that list and a lot of cigars that were unique were left off. It isn't just about getting the weirdest tobacco or blend out there. Taste always comes first. Some of those names are boutique companies that have taken the "Cuban" style and traditional leaves but blended them differently to get a different result. Some just chose to use the same tobacco from a different region of the country. The common denominator is that they all got 88+ ratings or at least 4 out of 5 stars.

It isn't that I want to create my own niche as the weird guy. I'm just one of those people that want to explore what is out there. I mean, Nat Shermans are good, but in the end they are all going to be pretty similar. Then you have Fuentes they are good, but do we need to try all thirty blends? Probably not. Truthfully a lot of them are going to be rather pedestrian. So, why not branch out and try new brands? If you're investing time and money shoot for something beyond ordinary. I want to have that Padron or Sangria moment with as many extractions as possible.

Spending a little time with MFT's Padron 1926. I'm not sure which 1926 this is. Padron has four 1926 lines and each has two wrapper options. So, there is a bit of head scratching going on. How do I know all of this about the Padron 1926? ... This isn't your run of the mill $8 stick and it shows. This is a super premium treat and I greatly appreciate MFT sharing this expensive indulgence with me.

It was a Nicaraguan Habano, #35 4X48, @$11.20 from Cigar.com, glad it was pleasurable.

Of MOV's six NETs, every one is really liked by someone here. I find them all easily recommendable, though a few I love and a couple I didn't care for. Do you have any preferences you're looking for from a NET juice?

Interested in a coffee mix and the smooth but not overly sweet.

Southern Gentleman.. Absolutely lovely with a medium tobacco presence. My favourite NET from MOV even if it is a bit of a gunker. It's not as in your face as Apache is, which I would recommend trying only when you're well into your NET journey. Another "sweeter" recommendation would be Full Virginia Flake RY4. It's probable closer to some other tobacco juices that you may have tried before. The others from there, I didn't much care for.

That would be me, and SG is the one. ;)

Definately Sunday Morning then. I was kind of 'meh' with it, though many here really like it. The coffee is more subtle then I like in a coffee tobacco. Even though it didn't impress me as much as some of the others at the time, I'm still considering giving it another go.

MOV's Americano from their synthetic tobacco line is a pretty amazing coffee-tobacco for me. Stronger coffee presence, and overall a very unique and lovely taste.

My PERSONAl favs from their NET line is Pendragon, Apache, and Southern Gentleman.

Add me to the Meh list for Sunday morning too. Come to think of it, I've yet to come across a Coffee vape that I like..

Next time you order from them, give Americano a try. Trust me, and Bill, it's a pretty amazing coffee-bacco. No guarentees you'll like it too, but it's worth checking out.

We all have our own ways of coming up with, at least a pleasant vape. I'm in the less is more fraternity. a 5x54 would go in 80 mls of PG. As a matter of fact I just put a 6x52 in that amount of PG. I expect 60 mls of extract. My theory is that you get more flavor by soaking more tobacco in less PG. Works for me.

It's late and I've been up searching past my bed time again. I have a question for the extractors and I'm too tired to dig through my CP to find the appropriate threads.

On average, how much PG will be needed to soak a Robusto in the 5x54 range? There are a couple I want to extract, but that is the smallest size available. I'm thinking 120ml might not do the trick.

OK, Boomer, your wish is, well, you know...

The two smaller drawers are the extracts I've gotten in swaps from you, Johni, Dustmight, MFToms, and clnire. All those bottles are from 5ml to 15ml...

Mine are the sloppily hand-written labels.

I filled up an Origen with GeJ Analog Tobacco. This is one of the GeJs I did not care for on first vape, as it reminded me too much of an analog (yes, yes, I know, what was I expecting)... The aftertaste that it leaves on the roof of my mouth is exactly that horrid/awesome analog acidic bite that I remember from a Marlboro. Pretty cool.

This could be your vape when that desire for an analog hits... relabel it Taste the Reality

Okay, It looks like I might have to search harder to find something you guys aren't already kicking around. I might have to post my list just in hopes that you guys can knock a few off. lol

Actually here is a partial list of stuff I hope to extract. This is just the cigar side.
    CAO Escaparate Costa Rica
    CAO Escaparate Ecuador
    Recluse Draconian Sidewinder
    Recluse OTG
    Montecristo Afrique
    Intemperance BA XXI
    Nomad Classic
    Nomad S-307
    Nomad Connecticut Fuerte
    Tabacalera Zapata
    Room 101 Darumba
    Paul Stulac Black Midnight Fire
    Paul Stulac White Blinding Light
My Uzi Weighs A Ton Kentucky Fired...

I have none of those, and like Diane, I enjoy the few Acid/ Drew Estates I've had, my next Drew Estate is Isla del Sol. I also think the Tatiana Groovy Blue could be classified as a Pipe-Tobacco, the filler was definitely cut & rolled like it's from a pipe.

I usually read the descriptions of flavor notes that may appeal to my taste. It might not always work out tasting the same since vaping & smoking are quite different, but it's my angle of attack when choosing Pipe or Cigar Tobaccos.
