This week I extracted (heat macerated) my first batch of Mississippi River. This was after I was totally swooned by it when I tried Dust's extract and decided that I wanted to try one on my own. The Latakia is very prevalent right now. I'm hoping that with some steeping the Oriental, Perique and Virginia will come through. From your guys experience does that ever happen, that Latakia takes a back step and the other tobaccos come forward?

Sand,
Considering the extract in the liquid you got from me is going on 4 months old now, I'd wager time only makes this one better. In my short time with this process I'm learning that the more complicated the blend, the more it needs to "rest" to bring out it's full potential. Extraction process plays a HUGE part in what reads in the end as well.

Oh yeah. Three to four weeks of steeping.

Mike, you also have to realize that we're all new to this. By new I mean at the most we have three years of experiments, with Bill and johni being the old timers. I've been doing this for almost 16 months. Knowing what goes into the making of a good extract you must realize that our choices are based on that experience plus whatever we carried over from our old days of pipe and cigar smoking. I wasn't too long after my first few extracts that I realized my limited knowledge from smoking wasn't going to transfer much in the vaping world. There is a big difference in vaping a tobacco than smoking it. Vaping gives me tastes and nuances I never got from smoking the same tobacco's that I vape. As others posted, taste changes along with equipment used and extract style.

So, new is good. Go for it. I'm sure with a few trades we'll all be talking about your offerings. Now I'll have to start browsing for something to tempt you with.

I understand that. My thought process is pretty simple. I want to inject new flavors and profiles into the system. Somebody has to be the "new idea" guy. I am aiming to be that guy. All of the net vendors and some the extractors seem to be following the same path. I want to shake it up a little bit while staying inside of the traditional parameters. I haven't seen anybody extract a cigar man from mostly African tobacco. I haven't seen anybody doing a San Andres wrapped cigar or a pipe tobacco infused cigar. There are a lot of guys out there doing interesting things in the tobacco world. We should be embracing that in the net world. Instead, I see a lot of the same things (ideas and tobaccos) going around and around. I just want to spice things up a little bit.

That isn't meant to belittle the work and effort put in by the people in the community. There has been a lot of work and dedication put into the field. I just want to contribute something that stands out and makes an impression. It is my way of giving back to those that have given so much.

I have a feeling their Black Friday sale may tempt you into an earlier purchase lol. They had a pretty great one last year if I remember right.

Oh yeah! I bought some last year during that sale too! Then it is.. ;)

I feel the same way. Adventurous to me is passing on umpteen Burley, Cavendish, Virginia tobaccos and finding that one tobacco that's Burley, Cavendish, Perique. Just go through a few of the McClelland, Lane, H&H, etc. blends. Try to find a Burley, Cavendish, Perique. Best I could find was Cornell & Diehl Penninton Gap. That's adventurous for me.

Mike,

If you want to carve out a niche for yourself as the guy who home extracts unusual, eccentric, or even weird tobaccos, by all means have at it. I just hunt for tobaccos that I think might taste good. Not that I wouldn't extract an unusual tobacco blend, but it's not something I factor in when choosing tobaccos to extract.

That's the bottom line of how I judge every natural tobacco extract, whether my own or someone else's: Does the juice made from a particular extract taste good? That will be how I'll judge your extracts, too, if I ever happen to vape any of them. Some blends that seem pretty out there make great-tasting juice, while other, more standard blends don't always pan out or pass muster.

As Mr.Mann wrote: "By all means, shoot for the stars and let us know what works..."

I make my own synthetic coffee vape. I go through 60 mls of it every two months. I use FA's Cafe Expresso mixed with a few other flavors. Best coffee vape I tried. PM me for the recipe.

Add me to the Meh list for Sunday morning too. Come to think of it, I've yet to come across a Coffee vape that I like..

Any recommendations on MOV's NETS?

FranC...

Hi there ... imagine finding you over here :)

Since I also see you in one of the MyVapeJuice threads.... If you've had any of Diane's NET's and liked them, perhaps you could mention which ones... These folk will have something to base a suggestion from then. I'll try as well but I don't vape as many as many of them here do.

Ah......but what has it got in it's pocketsess?
Your Tatiana Vanilla, my first cigar (never smoked one, never wanted to be around one!) Is pretty awesome. Just goes to show what has already been said, vaping is so different than smoking.

FWIW, I stated earlier I choose my extractions to add something new to the mix, so to speak. But #1 is I spent literally hours reading descriptions and you guys have so helped me learn the different tobaccos and what I like/might like, and being a kind of sweeter flavor junkie, I choose what I want to extract based on my taste and what I would like to try not only what others might find interesting. Although it IS important to me to have something decent to share. Heck, that's half the fun! I have no where near Bill's stash, but I sure ain't hurtin' for some great NET juice!

I'm hooked on Cavendish, its almost like it was made for vaping with the natural sweetness. My two favorites are Captain black Dark an Winminster #47. Warning nets extracted from these are very addictive.

Next time you order from them, give Americano a try. Trust me, and Bill, it's a pretty amazing coffee-bacco. No guarentees you'll like it too, but it's worth checking out.

Despite its being an NET, MOV Sunday Morning can't hold a candle to MOV Americano, at least for me. I've vaped more than 80 retail coffee eliquids---from straight coffees to various blends---and Americano is among the top three or four of my favorites. As a tobacco-coffee blend, it's easily my all-time grand prize winner. Yes, Americano does use synthetic tobacco flavoring, but it's a fantastic mix. Steve really worked some magic with Americano.

Of the roughly 40 retail coffee flavorings/concentrates in my stash, FlavourArt Café Espresso (which was formerly called Coffee Espresso) is among the best. I'd love to have your recipe, boomer. My swap file tells me that I haven't sent you any of the three natural coffee extracts I've done. Next time I mail you a package, I'll include one.

When i first started vaping, MOV and HHV were my go to vendors ( HHV still is a main vendor ). When i moved down from 18 mg/ml, i gave up on all MOV juices except for Americano. Strangely addicted to it.

As far as straight coffees, Ahlusion's light french roast is my favorite.

Starting my day with MVJ's Balkan. The first thing that comes to mind is, smooth. I really like the presentation of the Latakia in this one. It isn't pounding you in the face with camp fire. It is nice and smoky with a very mild and round profile from the Virginia and Oriental. It is definitely a good early morning vape. If you like Dunhill Early Morning you will probably like this. The Balkan uses less Virginia and has less of that Dunhill sweetness. So, it may work even better as an all day vape.
