Johni, being a "dog person" (see my avatar- that is Tasha, a Belgian Tervuren and I make show leads for show dogs for a living!) that Great Dane is on my "gotta try this" list! Sounds delish!

Thanks for the kudos on Grandma's Kitchen. I really like it too. Have not tasted my latest ones yet - they are steeping away. They should be sweeter flavors too. :) Lane Very Cherry, Sutliff Vanilla Royale and Sutliff Dulce de Leche. I should know next week..
Thanks for sharing your latest creations. I am steeping them also and look forward to getting to them. I'll gladly send you some Great Dane extract or the 1/2 ounce (approx.) of the blend that I have left.

clnire has extracted several including Hearth and Home Signature Grandma's Kitchen which I'm really enjoying.

cl beat me to the punch on Grandma's Kitchen. I've had an ounce of it in my stash for months, along with two popular aromatic Lane pipe blends---BCA and RLP-8---which cl also extracted in her batch with Grandma's Kitchen. She even sent me sample bottles of all three extracts (you, too, I presume), so now I'll have to extract mine to compare.

Lately, I have been filtering extracts down to 2.5 microns and can attest that it does help clarify the extract and minimize particulates without compromising flavor. coils will still gunk although it takes longer, primarily due to sugars cased on the tobacco. Sugar molecules are too small to filter without filtering out flavor molecules.

I ordered up 3 micron filters because of your juice. I was surprised how good the taste was for the clarity and performance. You've definitely found that middle ground that so many have hunted for. I've went through a whole T3D with your juices. That is unusual for the home brews I've tried. If Amazon hadn't listed a 1 to 3 month ship time for the 2.5 micron size I needed I would have been right there with you.

On another note. When my extracts are finished I'll be sending out samples of the extract to the three guys that have been nice enough to share their works. (If I have any bottles. ) I'm hoping it lives up to what I've received so far.

Three very tasty blends and outstanding first try on her part! It's interesting how often the tobacco blend choices of our group of home extractors have overlapped. With thousands of blends available the odds are against it happening.

Unless Bill is in the group. Then his prodigious output throws the calculations off.

Mike, the lower sugar level in cigars makes cigar extracts inherently easier on coils than pipe blend extracts given comparable particulate filtering. Three micron filtration will definitely give you good performing juice. Good luck man!:toast:

Yes, I was surprised when Bill said he had Grandma's, RLP and BCA waiting to be extracted. Just want to add if any others want to try mine, as long as my bottles hold out I am happy to share!
I've spent nearly as much on bottles as tobaccos since I started sharing my stuff! If anyone comes up with a good deal on bottles in quantity in the US, I'd be up for a group buy.

I'm confused. Is he familiar with WTA and if so, why would he play dumb with Anthony?

iPhone limitation and a busy life have thwarted my ability for clear communication.

Ken knows little or nothing about WTA based on my discussion with him about the similar acronyms. This was over 2 months ago do maybe the WTA similarity has been presented to him enough times for him to look into it.

In my discussion about it with him at the time I made a joke that I was going to mix WTA with WTA and the penny didn't drop and I explained what the other WTA was and how it could create some confusion. All light hearted banter of course.

I haven't had a chance to listen to the interview. I'm recollecting my conversation with him.

When I said he is not a novice I was referring to his abilities in extracting cigars and pipes.

Sorry about the confusion. Because I am on the move I tend to skim some posts. I miss the days when I had ample time and could recline in the chair and take in posts with greater devotion.

PS I will have a good listen to the interview on the train home tonight Papa

Trying out MTF's Milan Black Gold again. A little extra steep did it some good...
I give this a thumbs up. After some more steeping this will make a mighty fine night time vape...

My Black Gold hasn't been touched yet, still steeping in a dark cupboard. Once I've devoured this 10mls of Louisiana Red, ~5 days, Black Gold will be dedicated to my Copper Vein REO/ Bottom-Feed IGo set-up for 1ohm.

Right now I'm chain-vaping this LR in my YK-1/ Cyclone Clone like a Mad Man, nice flavor from this little atomizer with the stock air hole.

Getting on that Perique jag, I just ordered McClelland St. James Woods; A highly sophisticated blend of broken flake Red and Black stoved Virginias pressed with premium Louisiana Perique. Sutcliff PS Golden Age; a blend of Black Cavendish mixed with Perique - all coarse cut and air cured. 1881 Perique Cigar; the 1881 Perique sports an Indonesian Java wrapper and a Philippine binder. Nestled inside you will find a three country mix of Brazilian, USA Perique, and Philippine fillers.

I added Captain Black Regular, my favorite when I smoked a pipe; features Cavendish and Black Cavendish tobaccos, all infused with whiskey, creating one of the mildest yet most aromatic pipe tobaccos in existence. CAO Bella Vanilla Corona, Cameroon, an ACID Kuba Kuba & Cold-Infusion rounded out my order.

That should hold me until my son graduates H.S., BTW he turned 6 y/o last month  :vapor:

... On the other hand, I think I put too much pg in the S&S. I used about 1/4 to 1/3 of an ounce and 70ml of pg. Then the tobacco floated up and left a small gap at the bottom.

You're S&S should settle after it's completely soaked, if your liquid is 1/4" or less above the tobacco you should be O.K., if you have a bit more to add, a pinch or two should work.

Hey Cin, have you tried the Black Vanilla yet? I just cracked open a steeped 12 ml bottle. Wish I made more. This stuff is fantastic, right up there with your Grandma's Kitchen which I already finished off 15 mls.

Glad to hear Clay is back in the saddle and wish him much success.:thumb:

Has anyone tried filtering at 1 micron? I probably should have researched it before buying a huge sheet of 1 micron singed polyester, but I'm hoping to get minimal gunk and still retain most of the flavor.

Im veeerrryyy green with the NET's so if I am asking a redundant question I apologize. Does anyone know what the best way is to add something and what to add to lessen the dryness of some of them. I find some of them too dry at the % needed for good flavor. Stronger ones I have found I can just mix down a little farther (typically w/VG) and the dryness lessens considerably. Also is there a way to add TH on the full or heavy VG juice. I wish I knew away to get full VG juice to hit like VCV's does without paying the crazy price for their premixed unflavored.

Your dryness issue could be too much PG in the mix, some are sensitive to PG and get a dry feeling especially at higher levels like 70/30 or 80/20, does this happen with non-NET juices? Cellu-cotton could be another culprit, a few vapers have had sore/ dry throats after vaping for a day or two, so getting a higher VG mix or changing your wick material is the place to start.

If your using low nicotine and/ or high VG blends, TH will decrease, you could get stronger TH, using a drop per ~5ml to start, of Vodka or Pure Grain Alcohol (PGA) in your vape juice.

Oh, welcome to the thread :vapor:

I was tempted to try 1 micron as 3 micron is harder to find than 5 & 1 micron. I have to think it will require a lot of pressure maybe pore than French press can provide but a steel turkey baster syring might pull it ofd.

I have a thin silkscreen type 1 micron that I intend to try my next extraction, looking for a good perique + Cavendish combo to try.
