Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I ordered a Mephisto and a Stingray clone from 101. I have always used bottom feeders and small chambered bottom fed attys, but have been wanting to try a tube mech and regular dripper for tasting juices... and well just for something to mess around with. Although I don't really have anything to compare it to, the Stingray seems pretty great for only $20. Well made and the switch works just fine. The mephisto is awesome. Mine is made by Tobeco. The quality is remarkable for a $15 atty. The massive posts/holes make building coils super easy. Flavor is great and it puts out a ton of vapor. My only complaint is on mine the airflow control ring is rather difficult to turn.

All and all, pretty awesome setup for $40.

Also, finally tried JG blend from Ahlusion. Delicious! Fresh out of the bottle, the coffee flavor is fantastic, not too strong, but very tasty. As far as tobacco... some one tell me if I'm off base with this, but I'm thinking it's similar to Smooth Criminal.

I didn't find the tobacco in JG to be much similar to Smooth Crim. It's been said it's the tobacco used to make Desperado, but knowing Ahl there's more going on than Desperado plus coffee. I also loved it fresh, though it does get even better with age.

I've got Plume Veil clone on order as well. I've got my fingers crossed on this one, couldn't resist the form factor. That thing has more air flow control than a jet engine too. Also looking forward to not having to donk around with allen wrenches. We'll have to compare notes once they arrive. Did you pick up and OG or a clone?

With so many sources of airflow involved in the Plume Veil, I'm worried it would be too airy for me.

Today I put the Mephisto in single coil mode and have been dripping NS Dark from Netcom. I think I'm more of a single coil guy unless I start getting lower nic juice. This is the first time I have had NS Dark and I'm pretty blown away. Has a much more rich flavor compared to the other cigarette extractions I have had. Glad Clay is getting things straightened out. I want more of this for sure.

Single coil guy here too, which is why I like that many of these drippers like the Mephisto, Atomic, Trident, etc. that have 3 posts have the option to close off an airhole for single coil use.

Why not jump on the bandwagon? Even our buddy Super X has become a lung hitting cloud chaser!

I've got to admit I love dual coils in a Phoenix V5 with air control, but the air holes are just about right for me (relatively small) and I run it wide open with great flavor production. No lung hits here. If I was inspired to buy another atty soon, I would try an Odin, but for $70, my inspiration is easily squelched!

No lung hits here. If I was inspired to buy another atty soon, I would try an Odin, but for $70, my inspiration is easily squelched!

It really does come down to finding what works and keeps you happy. I'm just happy as hell to have not smoked in almost 2 years don't feel the need to do a lot of equipment experimentation anymore! New tobaccos are another story.

No, you're probably not, although I have to say that Mann taking direct lung hits is roughly the equivalent of flying pigs, as in the old phrase, "XYZ will happen on the day that pigs fly," which Wikipedia tells us is called an adynaton, a way of saying that something will never happen. Ah, will wonders never cease?

I picked up an Odin, I'm two days away from my one year, so I have been treating myself a bit Anyway, I'm undecided on it. I love the construction and it's really easy to build on, but I'm not getting used to lung hits so far. Just too harsh and too airy. Maybe it would be better on 6mg juices, but I don't have any of those! I need to try a single coil on it before I reach any conclusions... But it may end up in the classifieds and I may end up with another Mephisto converted for bottom feed.

I filtered my H&H Burley Kake I got specifically to try Bill's RY4 recipe. I have not even tried the BK alone yet, but my Nature's Flavor's order came in today (Expected my Quick Nic order today, but no. Why it takes one order 24 hrs to get from the Jacksonville USPS depo to my mailbox 2 hrs away and others takes 3 days I will never understand. But who understands USPS???) I mixed a small batch of Bill's recipe. Gave it a few warm water soaks and lots of shaking and I must say, in my Igo-L at 1.5 Ω, KGD cotton wick, on my Vamo V5 at 7.5 watts this stuff is already HEAVEN!! For an RY4 lover.... It will be interesting to see how it develops and melds together with time.

I do have a Magma on the way but we all know Slowtech.... It has shipped and is on the slow boat.....

It's hard to say because this is the first time I have experimented with anything other than single coils on an RM2 or cyclone, so I may need to tweak it in order to give flavor a fair review... I have a dual coil setup running at about .5 ohms. With 12mg juice flavor is definitely there, but it's hard to judge how it compares when you're trying to keep yourself from choking! I remembered I had some 8mg Poet and Scholar so I loaded that up. Much better, I'm not choking... much. Flavor is actually really good, not as good as the RM2, but not too far from it. Again, that could be my particular coil setup. You can adjust the air holes easily while it's on the mod and that's something I really like about it. Even at it's lowest setting, it still feels fairly airy to me. Maybe that's the larger chamber? The Odin does put out a TON of vapor, if that's your thing.

Dual coils are definitely an adjustment! You might try raising your resistance at least until you get it figured out. Hope you get it to work for you but if not, hit me up.

All this talk about RDA's got me to buy another from my local b&m. Got a Origen V2 clone from Tobeco. Let me start by saying it was intimidating to do a vertical coil as I am a noob when it comes to coils. My only practice has been in my Tobh RDA to date; I like that one cause it's simple to build a single coil. Just 8 wraps of 28 gauge around the screwdriver that came with it and I always get 1.5 ohms. Easy peasy. However, I just made my first vertical coil and wicked it with KGD and it hits like a beast (yeah, could have said freight train but feeling kinda beasty at the moment). Vaping Top Leaf from EV in it now and taste is awesome. Now to get a few more and I might become proficient and confident enough to try a duel build in the near future.

I also bought my first Kayfun (clone) and going to figure out how to build it out in a few. The difficult part will be deciding what to put in it first.

Also, I received my order from NET.com today. Good vape day for the ole vicman; and there was much rejoicing....yay

Thanks for the tip. That's kinda what I ended up doing but only a single coil. Couldn't get the cotton in without an angle.

That's awesome to hear. Pets become such a big part of the family and it hurts when they are hurting. Have a 14 year old mixed bread that my sister saved from a shelter years ago. He might sleep 2/3's of the day away now but is still there at dinner time to try to mooch some food. Just wish he'd quit barking at the imaginary bunnies he thinks he sees, lol (he's got cataracts and has trouble in the sun).
