Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Been vaping RBFS's Porch Rocker for the past day and a half and am likin the heck out of this stuff. I can taste a little of the brightness of the Virginia and a little of the darker notes of Burley with maybe a little smoky element which I guess is the Latakia. Maybe a little of the Perique as it has a somewhat musty hint to it. However, it is just the essences of these I am tasting. The description said it also has something called Flake (no clue what that is?). All of these together make up a completely different type of tobacco flavor; a real good one at that. No one flavor dominates it as all the tobaccos blend perfectly. Gonna keep vaping till this tank runs dry and put it away so I don't vape till it's gone. This is defiantly a keeper; awesome stuff.

Porch Rocker is fantastic, very complex and downright tasty. Fun to pick out all the different tobaccos and notes in those types of blends, there's a lot to discover.

Flake is a way to make pipe tobacco by pressing the tobacco under high pressure into cubes for some time, which is then sliced to make the 'flakes'. By not revealing what type of tobacco those flakes are, that tobacco in the blend is Brian's little secret.

I have a 7 Day Pill Box, actually several but, one is for BVCs. They're re-cleanable to a certain extent/life span. I haven't tried dry burning but, I let them soak in water overnight and then dry out for a couple of days. Will usually get another coupla/three days out of them if not longer. Others soak in vodka and rinse. That being said I'm on the edge of dipping my toes into the re-building world.

That's good to read. The BVC coils are not an easy rebuild, so if their lives can be extended by dry-burning, that's great. I rebuild my RDAs, bottom-feeder rebuildables, and all my EVOD-style bottom-coil clearos that use single-coil replaceable Kanger heads, but while I don't mind the coil-wick dance and even enjoy it, it'd be great to get better-than-average flavor and performance from a coil I don't have rebuild or re-wick every time I turn around. Plus, at roughly two bucks each, the Aspire BVC heads are more expensive than I want to pay very often.

For hard to re-build coils, I clean them by using baking soda and vinegar. Usually loosens the gunk so the coils can be rinsed clean with water afterwards. It's a really good method with HH357's and the like.

I wondered the same thing but it was described in a video and made sense.Ceramic would take more heat than is produced from the coil to burn. The way I have been doing it is short 2-3 second bursts at a 11 watts (the highest on the MVP) and gradually go up to about 5 seconds. The gunk starts to burn off and I stop when there is no more smoke. After that, I rinse the coil to get rid of any ash. Then a quick dry-burn to dry the coil. Have not had a burnt wick yet (hopefully will not). I added the link to the video of the person who made sense to me. I would warn that the longer the video goes the guy gets a little loose with obscenities.

Thanks for this. I have been washing my coils but not dry burning so will need to try this.

Yeah, I tried rebuilding one of those aspires into a single-coil head. It worked, but it didn't work. Wick was up against that ceramic sleeving on the sides, but not drawing any juice for some reason... these heads had been boiled in advance. Don't really know what to do about them, but they come apart a lot easier than they go back together.

If someone has transitioned one of these to a single-coil, please let me know. I don't see why it wouldn't work as well as the dual-coil setup in the factory heads does.

I have rebuilt the aspire heads with cotton as well. Single coil. I was drawing juice ok, but not worth the trouble in the long run, especially for someone who vapes NET's for the most part. Re-wicking kanger heads is a lot [/I ]easier.

This must be what winning the Daytona 500 feels like..... I just accomplished a dual coil build on the Veritas. My hands are trembling and I'm wore out.. Tough work for a newb. But the final result is nirvana.

Got my Origen V2 built today, standard 1ohm horizontal micro. Tougher build than I expected, it's made for verts, but not too bad. Flavor is better than I expected, up there with the best. I'm happy with it. Vaping Porch Rocker in it, my go-to new dripper testing NET these days.

Added a Kayfun oring in the groove of the AFC on my Magma to tighten up the airflow ring. It's nice when using the second airhole blocked off a bit to keep it in place when unscrewing the top. The Kayfun oring fits perfect adding just the right resistance.

Made some triple twisted 31ga wire to build my Veritas with. I'm posting now because I'm stalling lol, it's a stressful building the Veritas.

Stop stalling and Git 'er dun!! I'm being a bit evil because I just finished rebuilding 4 of my 5 KFL's to bring them back in the 1.6 - 1.7 ohm range, for my regulated mods, and I want somebody to share the pain with.

Wow, the build was scarily easy this time. 7 wraps, .965 ohm. The planets must be aligned or something, I should rebuild a few more drippers while the gettings good.

MVJ's Dunhill Nightcap (aged two months) gets the great big

It is perfectly named. This is a great vape for winding down the day. What surprises me is how different it is from Ashton's Artisan Blend. They are both Latakia, Perique, Virginia blends. They come across quite differently though. The Ashton is very dark and intense. The Dunhill is more smokey and toasty with a nice earthy Perique with a hint of spice. The Virginia is more obvious and carries a nice sweetness. It isn't at all grassy or cloying. It really helps to give it an extra dimension and mellows things out. It offers a nice balance.

The strange thing is that most people rate the Dunhill as a more full flavored blend. To me it comes across as less intense than the Ashton or Drew Estate Meat Pie. I'm guessing it is the result of reduced Latakia content.

Started vaping St Stevens from Ethervapes yesterday afternoon and been vaping it since. It came in about 3 weeks ago, put it in my eliquid cabinet, and kinda forgot about it. Found it when I was reorganizing the cabinet yesterday. Glad I did. The Virginia's and Orientals blend well and I taste them more at the beginning of the exhale. The last part of the exhale is rounded out with Latakia bliss (at least for me as I like Latakia). It really grew on me and will probably reorder more next order. I find EV puts out some real tasty NET's; one of my favorite vendors. Not sure if it is the more than reasonable price or the way the juice brings out the earthy flavors of the tobacco and blends them nicely. Either way, I likes em.

On another note. I find I don't really taste anything on the inhale. Instead, I taste things in stages of the exhale since I tend to exhale slowly through the nose. The beginning of the exhale seems to be more for the Virginia/Burley/Oriental blends while the end of the exhale seems more for Perique/Latikia/ and any other flavor present in the liquid. Is this strange or does anyone else have similar experiences?
