This was your quote from a few months ago when it was thought Ahl was using TAs. That still didn't qualify as "not being a NET". Now that Ahl is confirmed of not using any natural tobaccos at all it's a different story. So your original point was still invalid.
Just started vaping some NETs from Goodejuice and loving them. Trying out a half and half blend of GJ4 and Patriot. Good stuff. Not one for sweet flavors, but this kind of strikes me as a "milk and honey" tobacco blend. Highly recommended.
Those are both truly wonderful juices. Lots of great NET to be had from GeJ.
So can someone link me to threads with some in depth on cold maceration vs heat extraction, supplies needed, estimated ml's per oz of tobacco, fresh leaves vs premade blends etc
All this info seems garbled up and spread thing and I know those of you at this for years probably have an inkling what I'm looking for.

Hey tele, someone may have answered this already but I believe Southern Gentleman from Mountain Oak vapors has a resemblance to a scotch infused tobacco and may actually be one.
My Vape Juice has a whiskey blend in the County Squire range.

That person, who I won't name, that received less than a good reputation in here by denouncing ahlusion as being a NET vendor more than enough times for his point to be made clear was right all along.
What an amazing twist. Even more stunning is that Smooth Criminal was voted as the number 1 overall NET in the 2nd Netty awards! That result frankly surprised me at the time and I mentioned as such.
Talk about an earthquake with paradigm shifting proportions in the NET world.
But what about the aros? They were NETs while the non aros never were or they both are non nets?

The aros were unmistakeably NETs. The non-aros were generally accepted as NETs here, but i recall coming across a thread on Reddit disputing their Net status quite a while back.
I thought I tasted something like Southern Comfort in the juice, Southern Gentleman. Interesting.....

I ordered the new custom NETs from NET.com with my last order. I was expecting that I would not like them. The origin of Poilu is old-school Gauloises. Having tried the modern-era analogs long ago, i was expecting i would get a similar experience to MOV, which as I mentioned previously I found to harsh for my taste buds (sucks, too, they are a great company and would love to love their juices, it's my taste buds at fault, not their juice).
Boy, was I wrong.
This juice will not be mistaken for anything but a sharp tobacco, with very little if any sweetness to it. However, it has none of the harshness I remember from my experience with French analogs. I vaped through a whole tank in my Peko Bottom feeder. This is a great complement to one of my faves, Organic Spirit. Perfect for when I want an analog with no sweetness to it. You can definitely sense the slightly sour bite of the French analog it is meant to resemble - delicious.
Vapor production is good, but nowhere near as rich as my existing NET.com favorites. I compared it to Choctaw Perique, which I was vaping in parallel on another Peko using the same atty/coil setup, and the Choctaw definitely produced more vapor, if that is your thing - and the Choctaw was 70PG/30VG, while the Poilu was reversed at 30PG/70VG. I even swapped the Odin attys between the two mods, to make sure it wasn't the atty setup causing the difference.
The Poilu is fresher than the Choctaw, so if the experience changes with age, I'll post an update.

I have been vaping Southern Gentleman longer than most NETs, before i started following this thread and really thinking about the make-up of different juices. And i honestly couldn't make out a particular spirit. My palate is not overly discerning though.

Southern Gentleman™ starts off with a mix of Virginia, Latika, and Perique tobacco's that have been blended with an aromatic Amaretto that consists of Black Cavendish and Virginia Ribbon. We finish it off with a Tennessee Ribbon Burley and this blend becomes true to the name. It has a strong, present, and well rounded tobacco flavor that will not leave the enthusiast wanting.
Whatever role the amaretto plays is very small. I've also never detected any spirit notes.
Same here. I never picked up any alcohol or liqueur flavor at all from MOV Southern Gentleman.
I admit the liquor taste was very, very subtle. I could not identify it as Amoretto, however the taste I got was closer to Southern Comfort whiskey.
Maybe the "Southern" in Southern Gentleman was a subconscious influence........

I don't know. I always wondered about the name, too. The Southern Gentleman association with mint juleps and/or Southern Comfort seemed inescapable to me, and yet, I got nothing from the flavor profile of the juice that leaned in those directions. Go figure.
