Today I'm vaping a new mixed, McClelland Cigar Blends Dominican Glory Maduro. Stoved, red and lemon Virginia's blended with Dominican Maduro leaf. It's an interesting vape. I'm just vaping a taste ( 1.5 mls ) as it was mixed yesterday. Right off the bat I knew I made the mistake of mixing it at 30% because - Cigar. Way too strong ( it's a pipe tobacco ). I'll knock it down to 20% and let it steep a few weeks.

Also, I've got several more steeping. Burma Road, Baklava, Freight Train, Tatiana Mocha and Caribbean Nights. I'll be reporting on those soon. Hoping for another like Pennington Gap.

It's been I don't know, 2 weeks. I miss you lot.

What's the good word?

AHL is off the list of net vendors. Diane is banged up and MVJ is temporarily not taking orders. I guess that isn't really a good word. It is the news though.

On the bright side, I am loving my Room 101 San Andres home brew after a 1 week steep. The community is growing around here with new faces. Oh and everybody is going bananas over the DNA 40 chip.

Perique and Rou's Toasted Hazelnut

Two of the best long standing NETs on the market FranC, that have stood the test of time IMO.

I am inspired to revisit Vaperite to get both of those again and the AGV I think it was called with the flavours of prune, agave and vanilla infused in the tobacco.

Todd Gano was ahead of his time when he started making NETs. He is also a really nice guy that has never faltered in the 3 or 4 years that he has been making NETs.

Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey from MVJ in an T3d with cotton rewicks.
5 day steep

It says Burley and Virginia but I'm getting more of an unsweetened Cavendish or lightly processed Burley with a faint mix of Virginia. The bourbon notes come through rather subdued for the first half of the tank. It has some of that bass and midrange from bourbon without the bite. It seems like a middle of the road bourbon with just an essence. Lower in the tank that bite and almost sour taste of bourbon kicks in. It seems like somebody mixed bourbon with sour mash whiskey and you're getting the bottle smell without the alcohol bite and burn. Something about it is tripping a mental trigger and I'm finding myself thinking I should be picking up a cigarette between puffs.

This isn't an earth shattering mix, but it is well executed. I was surprised by how it comes alive down the stretch. However, the tobacco starts to take a backseat to the aromatic topping. A nice break from the English blends I've been vaping. I'm just hoping the bourbon and whiskey don't take over as it steeps.

ETA: After 1.2 ml the Virginia starts to roll in and the bourbon gathers itself into a cohesive unit. If the whole vape tasted like this it would be a must buy. Right now it is a fun distraction from the ordinary.

Yep, that about covers it!

Been a while since any new NET discoveries have been announced here or new NETs from favorite vendors.

I'm back to work after a few week sabbatical, hope to discover a DNA40 that I want soon. The Vapor Flask it too expensive, and I don't care for it's form anyways. The Vapor Shark bores me, and needing to unscrew 2 screws when changing the battery would get old.

Think I'm going back to KGD cotton for a bit. I don't know what happened in the last week, but I'm just getting too much of a nic kick from rayon. Heart starts thumping a lot. Rewicking with KGD was weird.. it felt like I was using way too little, even though I know it was right lol. Lots quicker and easier too. Was worried about the taste after using rayon for a while, but Maple Wild Wood tastes as good as ever. Best part.. chain vaping without heart palpitations!

So is there a post someone can refer me to that specifies no NET in Ahlusion current offerings?

Thanks

Southern Gentleman is amoretto infused, not Scotch.

Interesting. I wonder if they changes the recipe. I have a 2 year old bottle of SoGent. It has always tastes like a scotch infusion to me and I could have sworn others spoke about it as such.

Amaretto had a distinct nuttiness to it. I get no nuttiness in my SoGent.

It's alarming that in clear CAPs there is a disclaimer below the description of all NETs on MOV that NETs are not FDA Approved. What the hell have I been missing?? Did the FDA push through its industry destroying deeming provisions?

Mike, you should be a news reporter. You covered the last 2 weeks perfectly and didn't miss a thing. Well done!

I can't find Devil Dog or Bluegrass Burley on the Ahlusion site much less if they are or are not selling real tobacco flavors.

From their site:

TOBACCO BLENDS

Aromatic Tobacco Blends (No longer produced/sold): Previously made in house, extracted through various methods from additive free natural or certified organic tobacco. The strength of the finished flavoring is slightly different for each batch, so there may be slight variations to the strength of the finished product. Every recipe is tested and adjusted for each batch to make it as close to the original control as possible. Our aromatic blends are no longer being produced or sold.

Non Aromatic Blends: As the name implies, these do not contain any tobacco extracts, just tobacco flavoring.

I may have posted this when the Ahlusion announcement was first quote here, but I have to do it again.

How does the name "Non Aromatic Blends" imply that the juices do not contain any tobacco extracts? That's completely illogical.

Could their reasoning be Aromatic = NET and Non Aromatic = Non NET?

Apparently whoever wrote that thinks so. If they do, however, that's a private, in-house language unique to Ahlusion. For everyone else in the world, "Aromatic" means a tobacco blend with added (topped) non-tobacco flavorings, such as vanilla, maple, rum, etc., while a "Non-Aromatic" blend has no toppings and only the regular sugar casing that almost all retail tobacco gets during processing.

Mazinny talked to Wlad, who said in no way now or ever do the non-aros contained flavoring made from tobacco leaves. Fairly recent post.

Somebody at Ahlusion doesn't understand the distinction between aromatics and non-aromatics or they have been deliberately deceptive. They put honey in their RY4 so I'm betting on the former.
Beat me to it lol.

They also list vg first in the ratio because it's the American way to do it. Ahl sure makes some great juice, but they don't make much sense to me much of the time.
